I don't think so. The phone seems fast to me, and the new UI is nice.

Disclaimer: I don't compare the speed of opening 14 apps, closing, and reopening them to other phones (I don't even do this in my normal usage). Of course, I don't do this with any device. The macbook pro in my house is a great laptop, if a bit slower than my surfacebook. I enjoy them both, but if I compare them to my desktop, they are downright pathetic speed wise. But I don't, all my devices seem fast enough for my use.

Maybe I am getting old, but I find this repetitive discussion we have every year, with every phone launch to be tiring. These are expensive devices. Did you really just pay this much, so that you can stress out about it on an online forum? Alternatively, did you really just go from enjoying your new purchase, to returning it because of a youtube video?

This is the discussion around the note 7. The iPhone 6 was filled with people on this forum babying their phone, so that it doesn't bend. The iPhone 6s plus had camera disappointments, didn't it?

The iPhone 7 will be a disappointment based on stale design, non-oled display (that is a personal thing), dual camera may disappoint, probably still 2 gigs of ram, and the price will be hard to swallow. I almost guarantee one or more these issues will dominate the iPhone forum in about a month.

Personally, I love my note 7. I will keep it for a good while, unless the iPhone 7 or the Nexus 2016 tempt me away. They will have to bring a lot to the table, but we will see.

***Also, I imagine the note 7 needs a few bug fixes and optimization via updates. This is no different than what we see with new iPhones and Nexus devices.***

****One more thing, go visit the iPhone section. You will see what I mean, there is nothing but complaints, along with already perceived disappointment with the upcoming model. These forums are a small sample size, and you are more likely to here the vocal minority.***
I don't care about the apps opening and closing I just care if scrolling and transitioning between apps is smooth like the note 5. I don't want to feel like I downgraded in performance.

Played with a working Note 7 model at a CPW store today. It was in blue, which personally I don't like and along with all the security wires and holds, it made it awkward to get a true feel for the device. It certainly looked sleek, especially next to a S6 Edge+ they had.

It was a demo unit but it didn't lag, even when scrolling through all the pictures etc.

Cliff notes on his verdict? At work and can't watch

Essentially he likes almost everything about the device.

His gripes were easier to summarise, he is not a fan of GG5 and its scratchiness, finger print magnet . AOD despite offering more than S7/e is still limited compared to Moto implementation and the tap notification feature didn't work most of the time, the Iris scanner he liked, but disliked how you have to launch it. He griped about non removable battery and lack of IR Blaster and his biggest gripe was that as a device near $1000 with tax - he thought it was too expensive compared to the likes of the OP3 and ZTE Axon ....

Thanks very much! Looking forward to watching it

Just to say, he did say it was his favorite phone.;)

I think there are different types of lag and we are all just mixing them in together. There is scroll lag, which I do see but only sporadically. Then there is lag when opening an app. There is lag when transitioning from one area of an app to another, I see this a LOT in settings where going forwards or back can take a few seconds. Of course the infamous lag when opening the task manager is almost always present. Sometimes even the entire OS, going into the app drawer, changing homescreens, etc can lag or be slightly delayed. The only way I can really describe it is like having an old windows PC with not enough RAM, once it starts paging memory you see sort of the same type of slowdown. But as I said it's sporadic, sometimes my N7 runs smooth as butter. It's actually difficult to pin down because just when you want to video it for posterity, it runs perfectly. It's the times it runs smoothly that I'm actually more annoyed, because I wish it ran like that all the time.

Anyone find a film screen protector which is similar feeling to the film that it ships with? I'm actually still using the film it was shipped with as it's actually pretty decent, but it doesn't cover the entire screen. I haven't found any positive review of any glass one yet so am hesitant to buy. I think if I can get the same feel I'm going with a film this time around.

I have two seperate ones already including a full TPU and full glass protector however I can't test them as the Note 7 hasn't been released here yet. I also have the spigen full ones coming.

When I get mine I'll post my impressions of the screen protectors and which are good or bad.

Man i Already now i will Buy s8 Edge immediately When its out, thinking about canceling my Order After all this Bad User experiences regarding lag, RAM Management, battery and scratching.

Its just not feels as the Note Beast it Should be.

Whoa, he has trouble with his iris scanner? I wear glasses and I'm an iris scanner addict! It's pretty much all I use now to open the N7 except in bright sunlight outdoors where I enter my code because my fingerprints are always a problem even on IPhones for some reason. Probably because I use hand lotion a lot. After a few times it just becomes second nature to put the scanner up at the optimal distance. I do have to open my eyes wide. My only concern is if this is safe for your eyes over time. At any rate I was worried the scanner would trigger my migraines in the way so many other kinds of lights do, but it's been fine so far.

My battery life and experienced with lag have varied so much over the past few days as I've downloaded and installed more apps and continue to settle in and customize everything. My next move will be to optimize all of my various settings for privacy, security, speed and power usage and overall efficiency. That's something I've had to do with iPhones, too.

So far I'm loving my Note7. I do think he made intriguing comments about S-pen features that were taken away. I am new to this so I don't know what I may be missing over the last generation. I do know I like what I do have.

I am liking my Note 7 experience and my Gear S2 experience enough right now that I am tentatively thinking about establishing an upgrade path with Samsung in parallel to my existing upgrade path with Apple. But it is still too soon to speak in absolutes and definite terms. I do know Apple could lose me if they drop the 4" form factor and then continue to gimp their smaller form factor in a way that artificially distinguishes it from the Plus sized iPhones for marketing reasons rather than for technical reasons.

The reason I ask is because there aren't any positive reviews of any film screen protectors either. I'm honestly surprised that the film it comes with out of the box performs quite well, but maybe I'm just nuts.

Is it true the Note 7 took a step back with the Grace UX? XDA and a lot of reviewers are beginning to trash the software. That being said, how does it affect the real world usage and consumer purchasing?

Does what I want it to do, when I want it to, without waiting. :p

For myself it's very smooth. The only time I experience any lag is when it forces a password input right after a reboot. Everything else pass that is smooth sailing. Feels as smooth as my S7 edge was.

Mine didn't come with a film out of the box. I wish it had. It had plastic with printing on it.

That explains the lack of a response on here, maybe it's only the Verizon version. The screen film for my Verizon n7 out of the box was totally clear and looks and feels like a screen protector.

I have such envy! I wonder if that was the same film I saw on the demo units at Best Buy.

I think because I'm working with phones now(and more specifically being around the Note 7 a lot as a result), it's making me even more impatient than usual.
Bear in mind, I am the LEAST patient person on the planet anyway o_O but work is almost becoming torture when there are 3 Note 7's dotted around the shop floor and I still don't own one!

CRUEL I TELLS YA. :mad::p

Today during a quiet spell I was doodling away on the notes app and loving every second. I just can't wait to get a hands on with my own one of these. Make it mine with my apps and themes etc.

One thing I have noticed compared to the S7's is that Touchwiz looks different on the Note 7. Better too.
It's almost like it's running a different operating system. It seems more muted, the icons look smaller and everything just seems a lot less colourful, which is a really great thing for me.

I also love how you can choose to put a border around apps, so they are all uniform in the app drawer or on the home screen etc.
One thing I have always disliked on my Priv (and any other Android for that matter) is the different shaped and sized apps, so the Note gets a big thumbs up for that.

Got lots more interest in it again today, people are very keen to get a hands on. Meanwhile I'm spending my time gazing at it wishing it was mine haha.

Hope you're all enjoying your's those that have them outside UK! :)

MBKHD says the Note 7 camera is the best on a smartphone.

Taken on Galaxy Note 7, def the best camera in a smartphone. Video review coming soon! https://t.co/OrCV0sSdub

I was hoping Samsung would reduce the over sharpening in the camera on the Note 7 as that was really the only noticeable flaw but it doesn't seem like they have done so. GSMArena shows the Note 7 applies even more sharpening than the S7E surprisingly.
