Not experiencing any lag whatsoever besides when I receive a message and it overlays on my screen. I intend to go through with package Disabler this weekend and clean house

for those comming from a iPhone 6S (so not the Plus), is/was it hard to hard to adjust to the Note 7 size?
I came from a 6s. It's definitely a size adjustment. I switched back and forth between the 6s and the 6s plus a bunch of times because of the size. But with this phone I am doing ok. At least this phone justifies its size with features that take advantage of the screen real estate.

As someone mentioned a post or two ago... One handed mode works great for me. Much better than reachability. So yes the size difference is noticeable but not a deal breaker when your consider all that you get.

It's also narrower, lighter and shorter than the plus so that helps a lot.

thanks for your feedback, I think I might give it a try as soon as the Note 7 will be available here in The Netherlands.

No problem. I still don't consider it a one handed device if that's what you are looking for. But when I need to use it one handed it actually works out better for me than the 6s because of one handed mode.

Welp crew I tried to give the Note 7 a go but its back at the AT&T store and my sim is popped right back in my 6S+ and I am satisfied again. I try to give Samsung a try year after year but I just really hate Touchwiz and the altering you have to do to get a Samsung device running up to par. iPhone is set it and forget it. I shouldn't have to turn this off and turn this down when Im paying full retail for these devices. No way.

Glad your enjoying your phone bud. Different strokes for different folks.

Did you give nova launcher a try? Still a lot of setup to do to make the device your own but so much better than TouchWiz

Action launcher is a good option as well. Little different approach than Nova, but i can't seem to switch to anything else. I think it's a small but definitive part of why I love Android, these days.

Yeah I always use Nova but its a bunch of other small reasons as to why I switched back. I really miss FaceTime and iMessage and hate the way android handles MMS.

Rather you hate how MMS are treated, via cell service messaging?

Duo is a, imo, superior alternative to FaceTime. I believe allo will be a great alternative to imessage. But, of course, that requires people you know to use them.

Perfectly understandable. I used to really enjoy imessage, but once I was a way from out long enough, I don't miss it. But I can see why it's a big draw.

Yeah I know there are good alternatives out there but like you said, people have to be hip to them in order for you to use them. I rely too much on them on a daily basis to just give them up and telling my parents to install a new app and setting it up is like talking to a rock lol.

Sounds like you and I are on the exact same wavelength. Popped my SIM back in my 6+ last night and it feels good to be back. At least I tried, but this will probably be the last time I do for a long time.

That's why I have a iPad so I wouldn't have to give up FaceTime and iMessage entirely.

And I do understand the frustration of having to control every aspect of the Note7 in order to get it to your liking, and the battery life is a big adjustment... granted wireless charging is pretty nice. But I'm just digging screen and design going to be hard for me to go back to the iPhone.

I really hope the Nexus this year knocks it out of park Hardware wise. I think it is the Samsung Hardware that always tempts iPhone users. But it is the Nexus software that would be kind to them, and the best transition to Android. Once you spend time with Android, such as with a Nexus, and you figure out how it works, then moving to a Samsung phone can be a great experience. You know how to fix the little annoyances, and you can take advantage of the Best Hardware in the business. If you stick with a Samsung phone long enough, you actually begin to appreciate there extra features, and will actually begin to miss them on the Nexus.

That being said, if Samsung or some other company ever made a Nexus with Hardware that was close to what we see in the Galaxy lines, I would jump ship right away. That is why I am seriously considering, one day, getting it in unlocked Samsung phone. The cost is prohibitive but then it would be the best compromise between updates and Samsung features.

Yeah they have to do an serious overhaul on Touchwiz before i decide to give a Samsung device another try.

Wait a min..

You don't necessarily have to deal with TouchWiz if you don't have to. That's the idea of having plenty of launchers to choose from. Just maybe you were doomed from the start.. having one foot out the door not fully committing to the Note7.

Especially being a longtime iPhone user it'll be awhile to adjust.

True.

Between third party launchers, themes, Google play store...you can make the phone look and function how you want.

Hell, you can even disable system apps with package disabler. I dont find that necessary anymore,.but its an option.

Usage /= Screen on Time.

Although the 6S Plus is essentially the phone to beat in regards to battery life as the combination of exceptional standby time and relatively efficient components allows it to outlast devices with much larger battery capacities.

Understood. I just thought that with all the complaining and making fun of iPhone battery life, I was going to see something astronomically better on samsung.

I don't think you will find people complaining and making fun of the 6s plus battery life in this section of the form. The 6s plus gets great battery life. This is largely due to the nature of the software, which is much more power conservative. As such it comes with limitations, such as Spotify can automatically download songs in the background without being opened in the foreground or at least recently. Another issue I always had was with GPS tracking running apps. They had a tendency to close down in the middle of my run. But these are two particular instances, and the overall experience of iOS can still be very good
