I'd really like to try one of those liquid screen protectors, but I'm not comfortable with a hardening agent on my display.
Have any of you tried the screen protectors through the Geek Squad at Best Buy? It's $30 here in Canada, but it's a lifetime warranty.

What is the cheapest place to buy a Note 7 outright? Costco deal seems to be the best if you sign with att or Verizon but I'm on cricket and changing to att will cost me a extra $50 plus per month in addition to the price of the phones.

Actually that was my next question. If you wanted to get it off can you?

Alright so I took the plunge, I found one in stock at best buy and jumped in with the AT&T next 1 year upgrade option. That way I can upgrade to next years iPhone. I really hope I'll be ok with Android after using iOS since 2007. Question for you guys with the wireless charger I read online that it makes a humming sound while charging the phone, I sleep with the phone right next to my head on the night table, is the sound significant enough to hear in a silent room while sleeping?

you may already know this, just make sure to disable iMessage appropriately on your iPhone (and any other Apple products) before making the switch to the Note 7. That way your texts don't wind up in iMessage purgatory.

yeah I have to make sure to do that since I am in quite a few group messages on imessage. that was one of the last things holding me back but I'm sure I'll be fine.

cool. you may run into issues still with those groups. the big thing is to make sure their iPhone settings are set to "send as SMS" (Settings -> Messages -> Send As SMS). And may have to delete that group chain on their phones as well. But if your number deregisters from iMessage properly, you shouldn't have to worry.

Since iMessage was the last thing holding you back.. how did you get over that hump?

I know for me.. I have a iPad, which I tend to try to take with me everywhere since it's the cellular model.. which helped in my decision to forgo the iPhone and transition to the Note7.

I know if I was Apple I'll never ever port iMessage to Android... I wouldn't even think it.

So I decided that the only thing really affected would be existing group messages since regular 1 to 1 messages I can just send using SMS. For any future group messages that I get added to it will work but just with SMS for everyone in the group. I decided that I would just remove myself from most of the existing ones since I don't want to inconvenience people by asking them to start a new one and then have them lose all of imessage features. I'll mostly be missing out on some good jokes and stuff, its not like we are trying to solve world hunger in any of these conversations :p

If I were Apple, what I would do is make an icloud suite available for android that would include icloud drive, imessage, FaceTime, iWork, and apple music for $14.99 for 15gb Storage, $19.99 for 50gb, and so forth. For those on android paying for a music subscription or thinking about it, it would be a no brainer to pay a little more a month and get access to some of these apple services.

The Verge:

Stop fretting about the Note 7’s performance

Giving it some deep thought and focusing in, I can find slowdowns and performance imperfections on the Note 7, sure. But if you’re going to overanalyze to that degree, you’ll also find inefficiencies and flaws in Jimmy Page’s strumming technique.

The actual feeling of using the Note 7 is in no way slow or unsatisfying. I'm a demanding reviewer when it comes to speed and responsiveness, having slated the Moto G4and the Xperia Z5’s camera software for their sluggishness in recent times, and I’m telling you that the Note 7 is fine.

Still, Samsung should find a way to squash this perception -- whether it's exaggerated or not -- once and for all. It's one of the few remaining things that holds them back (along with carrier control over bloatware/updates, which isn't entirely unrelated to performance).

I've seen a video where the guy was scraping it off after a scratch test. It wasn't pretty. Other people have said it's not as smooth as the original glass and some have even said there's a chemical smell to it as well. I find it odd there's not really a lot of reviews from tech sites or bigger name YouTubers.
So for now, I'll try a few cheap screen protectors until a solid review comes through. Maybe I'll give Best Buy and their custom fit film a try.

I have the Samsung fast wireless charging stand. And yes I can hear it at night. And the bright blue light isn't fun. However, I will say that I can sleep just fine. That could be because I'm constantly exhausted with a new baby though.

Honestly, Vlad shouldn't have written that piece.

I know for me... the Note7 has exceeded my needs in terms of performance. But the critics are going to scream to the heaven top of their distaste for TouchWiz and the hit in performance.

TechnoBuffalo video review. They even went as far as to say that it got everything right, which is VERY rare. But of course the best part of the review is the cute kids ;)

I miss touch ID. I get a decent amount of failures on the note 7. Still loving it and it's not so many failures that it's a deal breaker but just an observation.

Let me know how that goes. Because if I do end up getting a note 7 I will probably film this one if it is most prone to scratches. I work in a bit of a rough environment and as the note 4 and 5 held up well here with no protector. I don't want to chance it with the 7
