Rumors are qHD screen. I'm not that interested. Sounds like this will be a much improved S6 edge+ with stylus. I'm more interested in the 5.5" S8 with 4K display.

Interested by this iris scanner...any other phone out there with this yet?

Yes the Lumia 950 and 950 XL have had them for a good while now. It didn't work too well with those devices and accuracy was not great. Certainly a good distance away from a good fingerprint scanner

Main complaint from users & reviewers was that on a mobile it took far longer to unlock via this method than even inputting a pin.

You have to bring the phone up into your eye line, you have to wake screen and initiate the scan. You can't wear sun glasses or tinted glasses without issue.

The good finger print scanners like the S7/HTC 10/ Nexus 6p/ iPhone 6S etc.. You can have the device unlocked between picking it up and looking at the screen, which is far faster than the Iris scan method.

Some have said that it may work as a 'complimentary' unlock method for when you can not touch your device ? But then logically if you can't touch your device for whatever reason at the unlock stage, why would you be wanting to unlock it ? because as soon as you've done so, you will need to interact with it by touch regardless .. In which case a finger print would still be far more accurate.

I am with you the iris scanner. I am a little skeptical about how useful it will be tbh.

I'm guessing it could be just for people that may want another extra level of security and don't mind the inconvenience of scanning your iris. I myself would still go with the quick fp scan.

What do you need the 4k for? The only thing I can think of is VR, but I wonder how much battery life would be possible running 4k VR from a phone, I'd be concerned about toasting the phone as well.

I like crispy screens. It's not a need

I was all for a 4k screen for VR but there are talks that the new VR will have its own screen. If that's the case, leave it as it is, 2k is beautiful.

But carry on developing 4k mobile screens, push the boundaries Samsung!

Please make this so.....
Report: Samsung Will Unveil the New Galaxy Note on August 2, Release It Immediately
Not only will the public view the launch, but will also have the option to purchase the phone immediately following the announcement. This is thought to be the main reason why Samsung is ramping up production so quickly, giving credit to our theory that buyers tend to make impulse buys whenever possible

The report also details that Samsung has opted to use a dual-edge AMOLED display on the next Galaxy Note, similar to what is used on the Galaxy S7 Edge, but maybe not as curved.

I like the not as curved part. Chomping at the bit here, I hope they have carrier free versions available, I don't want to deal with the delayed updates from AT&T.
I am excited too for the "not as curved screen". I really hope they announce and release at the same day! LOVE it when companies do that!

I'm hoping they have deals as good as they had with the S7. I'm probably expecting too much , but a BOGO, free Gear VR and a discount on a Gear watch would be nice.

Deals on the gear 2 would be nice and would make sense in helping them get it onto people's wrists.
