The increase in price has almost no impact on demand.
I wouldn't be surprised half of what was ordered was through scrappers. There will be plenty of iPhones on eBay.
I can already imagine that the Jet Black 128GB 7+ will go for 2k.

I get a new iphone every year and it is like this every year. I think some of this is planned. I mean Apple is smart enough to know what the demand will be for the new colors. This happens every year with the new colors. They have all the data and metrics surrounding demand and new colors.Never like this. I ordered three iPhones and not one will be here before the 27th.
The black iPhones are severely constrained with delays reaching November/December, and those only come in 128 gb and 256gb

Samsung is officially telling users to stop using their phones immediately.
Believe what you want, this is unprecedented.
Thinking there will be minimal to no repercussions is foolish at best.
And as I get ready to take my Note 7 back to the store, look what comes in the mail.

I didn't even get a shipping notice or anything.
at least you get to keep it!And as I get ready to take my Note 7 back to the store, look what comes in the mail.

According to the latest press release by Samsung the CPSC has taken over the recall in the US and there will be no replacements or new phones to sell until the CPSC gives the green light. In some recall cases it has taken 6 months or more to get proper govt certification to put a recalled product back on the market. I think we can see why Samsung tried it's hardest to avoid the Feds on this one.
I'm not sure what happens in other countries, but if it hasn't been released in yours yet you might never see it at this point.
Both Samsung and the CPSC are saying return it immediately. If you really want a Note 7 and don't have a phone they will offer a cheap J series as a loaner until the no sale is lifted. The other route is to switch to an S7 or S7 edge or just get your money back and buy a different phone.
I think the Note 7s fate has been sealed and it's a shame because it is a gorgeous device. I'm sure they are already working on it's replacement anyhow. I bet even though it'll be a similar device they rebrand it as a new model.
So I'll just enjoy my S7 edge and watch the fallout. I have a feeling the next generation of this device will greatly improved.
I chose the Gear Fit 2 but haven't gotten it yet. They better send it to me because I was loyal enough to replace my Note 7 with a Samsung product.
Samsung and cpsc?
According to sevan, that's click bait.
I'm pretty sure you'll get it, no way they would want any negative experience adding to what's out already. I got both mine. I can't see anyone wanting a fitness tracker not giving these a shot. Saw a couple of reviews from fitness oriented people, and they say it's a great device and really accurate. I find it extremely comfortable to wear. I'm definitely happy with mine. It was free and not junky how can I not be?

Show me where I said exactly that.
In fact I said it was irresponsible of people not to have their phone replace. You sound very bitter. You bitter that I'm enjoying my phone and not joining your end of the world for Samsung campaign? Just enjoy your day, don't worry about things that don't even affect your life in any way. Are you gonna go out and bash every company that had recall? If not, chill out.
Nah, they'll be just fine, as well as the Note line. Like I said, recalls happen all the time, and people continue to buy things that have actually killed people, and cost a lot more than a $1000 phone.
You gotta look beyond a few random internet posts and click bait articles.
And being unprecedented, how do any of us really know how the market will react after the dust settles. I'm basing my opinion on the overall reaction online as well as other major recalls of products that have killed people and continue to sell no problem. What are you basing your opinion on?

Yeah it's the association. For example on a techspot on a national talk-radio programme today they were talknig about the iPhone 7 and went on to mention Samsung and whilst they were complaing over the price of the iPhone 7 they went on to refer to the Note 7 as the exploding phone. Now those with a little more gadget know will understand what the samsung recall is and the situation in more detail, but for general public all they are assosicating the Note 7 with is exploding. If it just becomes irrevacbly associated with that to the general consumer - it could indeed potentially sully and mar it going forward. It's a shame such a promising device and likely one of the best android phone that could have been released this year has had this major stumbling block, especially after the failure to release the Note 5 in Europe last year, this stumble on what should have been a shining 'relaunch' is a real calamity for their marketing / pr.

Yeah, this is why I think it's time they work with the 'official' authorites and start putting out advertising in National newspapers and such regarding the recall. Of course though again from a PR perspective, it would likely kill the device going forward if they were forced to advertise the recall on a wider scale.
So many words. So much bs.
What consumers are getting are alarming recorded phone calls, emails, letters, and barraged by media to "immediately" shut off their phones and return them. They hear the words "fire hazard" and "explosions" and I guarantee they will freak out. This negativity is going to follow Samsung all the way to the S8 and beyond. The Note series isn't their cash cow, but the S series is.
The success of the S7/7e might be the damage control Samsung need, but I do think the Note brand could be irreducibly tarnished and if it fails to materialise in some of the countries it initially was going to launch in, then it likely would be the signal that it could be the end of the 'note' at least in name, anyway.
Maybe this could push the Note and S line together to be released at the same time? They've been getting closer and closer in specs for a while now, so it shouldn't be too big a problem, and maybe this will free them up to do a "moonshot" type device for the fall?If it is going to take more than weeks, going into months then as I say, it wouldn't surprise me if Samsung shift focus to the S8 and make a third sku with a stylus to give those that want a s-pen device but either never got chance to buy a Note 7 or were put off by the Note 7 issues.
The S8 rumours usually kick in late dec/early January, and this maybe a way for Samsung to put all it marketing muscle into a shiny 'new' product without the the burden of re-launching and the damage control of the note 7 which would be very tough clawback from an advertising/marketing perspective to recover at this stage for even the best PR/Advertising team. It will cost many millions of additional $$$ trying to relaunch the N7 advertising wise at this stage..
Thats a good point. But then then they would have to have something in the fall to release too. This way people buy their phone instead of the competitors.Maybe this could push the Note and S line together to be released at the same time? They've been getting closer and closer in specs for a while now, so it shouldn't be too big a problem, and maybe this will free them up to do a "moonshot" type device for the fall?
I got the exact email from Samsung and T-Mobile. They have been saying this for a few days now.It is getting worse from a PR perspective.
http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-now-advising-power-note-7-715685/
Their own support site now reads
“we are advising that you power down your Note 7 and exchange it now” ...
It also confirms cspc involvement in the matter.
Whilst personally i think they are being overly cautious here, from a blind consumers perspective reading these things that sounds very bad..
