I'm excited to see what other services they will debut at the Note 7 launch event. It won't be just, "hey here's the new Note, g'bye."
I'm hoping they intro their new cloud service, and give 50GB of free storage (that doesn't expire like the Dropbox offer) with a purchase of a new flagship device.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sammy drops the Gear VR 2 at the Note 7 event. One can only hope :D

I gotta say the leaks look impressive. Hopefully they'll continue to improve in certain areas like support/after sales service. Definitely trending upwards.

I use an iPhone right now but the latest rumors of pricing for the new 7 series is a disappointment if true.

I don't think I'll upgrade my iPhone this year if the rumours are true. I may as well hang onto my 6S plus for another year. So decision now is whether to get the S7 edge or the note 7. I'm not that fussed about the s pen though.

I think a lot depends for me with the new iPhone will be the camera. If the duel camera does happen chances are I will still buy it but I won't be buying two phones. So it's 6s plus and note 7 or iPhone 7 plus and sticking with my s7 edge.

I'm excited to see if they have any further innovations with VR, Samsung really took the lead on this. I returned my HTC Vive because I felt that I got a better experience from my VR in some ways, although I'll most likely change my mind when more games come out for it. Dream prediction: Samsung will introduce some kind of touch controllers for the Gear VR similar to the HTC Vive ones, but most likely cheaper and less functional, but still cool. Gear VR with touch controllers, holy crap.

I'm also hoping for more useful refinements to Touchwiz. Maybe making multi window support universal like Google, I'm getting sick of having apps which don't work with it (I'm looking at you waze). Hopefully they will have something that helps with false activation of the touchscreen on the edges, something that happens to me all the time on my Note 5. I think Touchwiz refinements will put it over the top, as that's one of the main things which allow me to not root the phone and still remain sane.

And hey, I'm still futilely hoping for a developer version.

More news, @evleaks has confirmed the name and iris scanner. For me, the only thing I'm really waiting for, is actually confirmation of battery size. Anything 4000mAh and up would be awesome. The GS7 Active with its 4000mAh battery gives me hope we'll see at least that in the Note 7.

Iris scanner, whatever. Gimmick.

IP68 with the spen. That is pretty amazing.
I agree with you on the iris scanner....seems a little gimmicky to me. I wonder if waterproofing requires the spen to be inserted?

Went to the water park with my 4 year old today, I must say I was quite impressed with the amount of Samsung phones people were using INSIDE the pool. Just casually taking pictures, or sitting down in the water and pecking out stuff on their phones. Can't wait for the Note 7 to land so I can join them.

When you get the Note 7 you can make a commercial........under water taking pictures and video......caption says "shot on a Note 7"

I can't see why the silo can't be entirely sealed.
I guess it could be huh? It will be interesting how they do that with the sensors.

They could use something similar to a hall effect sensor? Can't be any harder than wireless charging or NFC.
I'd bet the note 5 silo is all but water resistant already.
I'm not sure if it is and I'm not willing to try it, lol, but I can't imagine theyd have made it an open design as ingress from the silo would be rapid.

Hmm 5.7"? I think the 5.8" was probably one of the most bandied rumors, if not the most. I'm concerned as the curved edges IMO take away screen size so we may effectively get a smaller screen functionally. 64gb would be nice if it was the new baseline, but somehow I doubt it. The iris scanner seems like the new gimmick to sell phones, interesting but we'll see functionally how well it works.

I'm still very much on the fence.

I don't want another edge device, I've had three and the novelty has worn off for me. I like the aesthetics of the device with an edge screen but very much prefer the ergonomics and practicality of a flat screen in actual usage.

Iris scanner hold absolutely no interest to me and i see it as yet another kitchen sink feature just thrown into the mix. At least it will keep the heat rate sensor company in that regard.

5.7/5.8 well OK we've been there before, 6 gb ram is meh 'ok as long as we can use it but likely just another spec number for people to whore ...

Not really bothered about waterproof myself either.

So when i look at it as is, I'm not really getting the excitement it anticipation that i normally get when new flagship is announced.

Perhaps software will sway the balance, hopefully given there was little new to the pen software last year other than notes on lockscreen over the Note 4, maybe the 7 will bring more dramatic changes to the actual pen software and usefulness. But then that edge factor would still likely ruin it for me personally.

I'm really torn to want to want it and get excited for the note 7, but at the moment i feel frankly dispassionate about it ..

Yeah I'm starting to feel as if I'll be paying $900 just to get ip68 and microSD. Let's see what they release, but I think just keeping the Note 5 is going to be a strong candidate for my next phone.
