Absolutely nothing, unless we are talking camera comparisons. I'm sure the Note 7 was good at photos too.. but as we won't get much real world experience now of it I guess we can chuck Apple into the mix?
[doublepost=1476708932][/doublepost]

Haha I was going to post a reply like this but forgot. Yeah I'm pretty sure the iPhone 7 will survive the toilet... Not that I would personally go diving for it!! Yuuk.
Well if you don't go diving for it you'll have to flush it. o_O

Nah, even people on the androidcentral forum are saying the iPhone takes better pictures than the Pixel. And that is on an Android forum.

How do people know when no one has the phone yet?
I've often found that the best judge of things like that is me (or the user) as what one review site or forum member says isn't true for everyone. Even if a lot of people are saying the same thing.

I have a 7 Plus and have been nothing but disappointed so far with the camera, having come from a Note 7 and Lumia 950.
But I have seen lots of people sharing great photographs in the iPhone thread on here that they've taken with their 7's.
The overwhelming majority though, seem to have to post edit their shots to get the photos to look as good as they do, which is not something I always want in a phone camera.

So yes love this feature

Has been so useful on my trip to Barcelona this week

The zoom is amazing on the 7+, especially for macro shots and taking pictures of something really small, or small text. The N7 would just be a blurry mess, even if I physically held the phone closer. One thing I've noticed since the Note 4, including the Note 5 and 7 is that the auto focus is terrible with macro/close up shots, and so so everywhere else. You can actually see the lens shifting in and out as it tries to decide what to focus on.

Low light I've always given the nod to the iphones for this. But I never got a chance to really see how the Note 7 performed in low light so I can't judge there.

Sigh, why do you lot believe everything you read? Samsung have stated they do NOT currently know what's wrong, yet someone somewhere claimed its because the phone was too small, someone who most likely had absolutely nothing to do with Samsung or its design team or test team or suppliers network, and you run with it? Is it because it just sounds plausible?
It could be the wood of the pallets used to transport one of the chemicals used in the battery make up! Yes seriously it can be something like that, may need to heat treated but they weren't and it affected the chemicals.

It can be one of so many thousands of things if they don't know what it is, it will take them a while to find out, and FYI in my opinion if it was the physical size of the device, or 'rushing to market' then you would have one hell of a lot more devices then less then 1% of those sold having problems!

Um, this is a discussion board for discussion. And I even said that nothing was confirmed, so of course I could be completely wrong.

I don't think that is the issue because mine doesn't get hot, not even with fast charging (note 7 in Canada can still fast charge to 100%).

Mine hadn't been overheating either. From what I understand about what was said is that these batteries will swell and implode depending on the charge, temperature, and chemical reaction happening inside. So when they make the casing, they have to give a certain amount of room for the battery to swell slightly, and apparently the tolerance on the Note 7 was just too tight, so if the battery swelled up too much that's when the fire could happen. It also means that given time it would've gotten worse, as these batteries start to swell up more as they age.

Again, that is just what I heard, nothing has been confirmed by Samsung.

There is something off with those Android central photos, the colour differences seem way off whack compared to my own iPhone 7 & S7 tests I posted in the Honor 8 pics thread. I find the colour differences no where near as different as those photos would indicate, which suggests to me they may have been adjusted post pic.

I am not saying one is better than the other as I've taken great shots and duff shots with both too, but those pics just don't tally with my own actual experience with both cameras taking photos side by side where the results are far more similar than they are different .

In the article they specifically stated they just used normal point and shoot like how people normally use their cameras

And in any case, even in Anandtech's comparisons you can still see color differences

And yet there are other comparos that show how bad the s7 color accuracy test is...so pick your poison.

So washed out=Color accurate? On Androidcentral and Anandtech, the iPhone pics most notably amongst all smartphones including HTC 10 and LG had washed out colors.
Too much saturation is bad,no doubt but real life colors arent washed out

The thing about the low light photo samples is the s7probably don't show the rendered scene correctly, the iPhone 7 looks more natural if the scene is low light.
lol I take great pics on my iPhone 7 plus but Samsung is undeniably better in low light.

Here you can clearly see how the S7 actually depicts night time while the iPhone 7 flash is visible. The light looks fake

Not accurate is not accurate. Galaxy overprocesses and oversaturates and blows out highlights. iPhone has its share of scenes it has difficulty with. So as I said pick your poison.

They are in fairness actually far more closer in terms of colour (S7 always ups saturation) than the Android central in fairness. I still think Android Central adjusted the saturation down because they were very muted compared to these results and my own photos taking images with either device side by side.

That looks like UCLA. And if it is, I know no building in South Campus is bright strawberry coloured. I also know the brick work along the facade of the Royce Hall and Powell Library buildings is not yellow but rather a creamy colour.

Many have the phone. How do you think all these reviews are coming out a month ago? It is not released to the general public yet. Only for those who are allowed to review it.

Maybe it's you or a defective phone taking the photos bad.

I found most phones in Anandtech and Android central comparison to take more "Saturated" shots than the iPhone, even the V20 .So the question is do you actually consider real life colors to be rich or washed out?Because I see many who feel its cool to say that washed out is the new accurate

True, just getting uptight I guess with all the things I've seen seemingly being presented as facts.

It depends on what your looking for. In some shots, while my Samsung is more saturated than real life, I think it looks better, in other shots I prefer the iPhone. Both cameras are really good, it all depends on what you like.

I do find my Samsung phones are much better in low light, I don't have my iPhone 7 yet to compare though.

I like real life colour. If I want to play with saturation there are plenty of processes I can use.
But I want my picture to be true to life.

Nope it's not that. Maybe the camera just isn't as good FOR ME as other devices I've had. I know that might be a little difficult for you to get your head around, but people have different opinions to you, believe it or not.

Maybe your opinion, but the facts out there show that it is the best camera out of any smart phone to date. So it's very hard for me to believe what you say.

No. The opinions are out there. It's all opinion.
I've been reading reviews of the Xperia XZ recently and about half of user reviews, forum posters and actual paid 'professional' tech writers say its camera is on par with the S7 / Note 7 camera, and the other half say it's a disappointing shooter that can't match the 'leading devices'.

So the only way to find that out is to check for myself. And make my own decision. Not take what one person says as facts to suit the ideal in my mind. But you crack on. :)

Blah, blah, blah. You make no sense.

Actually the lumia 950 / 950 XL camera is actually exceptionally good (possibly strongest aspect of the device) and at 20mp produces far more detailed shots than either the S7 or iPhone 7/7+.

I only had a Lumia 950 for a week, but it's camera was excellent.

Also as much as people are focusing on bokeh post processing, it must be remembered that the Lumia series had this first, along with Pro Camera Manual Settings and such. Years before either Samsung or Apple.

So if Aneres11 prefers the Lumia 950 shots he took I see no reason to say they are wrong as it is entirely feasible to me that they are taking better shots on it than their iPhone 7+

Not everyone takes the same photos and under same scenarios. Whilst I generally get similar results whether I'm using my iPhone 7, HTC 10, S7, Honor 8 etc, it doesn't mean a different user would get the same.

So there was no need for the blah blah comment.

When you say and i quote "I have a 7 Plus and have been nothing but disappointed so far with the camera," you i either have no clue what you are doing or trying to pretend having a valid concern. Either way i smell ****.

Or it could be he had higher expectations, as generally that's what disappointed means. Something could be great, but if you were expecting something even better you could be disappointed. And hey, how old is his Lumia now? After so many years and people giving the iPhone's camera high ratings, i can see how he would be disappointed if he feels the pictures it produces aren't much better.

You don't have to be so defensive and warp everything that isn't praise to mean it's bashing your phone of choice.

Sorry, I don't go by what posters say, I go by what is tested by legit camera testers.
[doublepost=1476745891][/doublepost]Great colors, poor sharpness. I see a ton of graininess in the sky. That is piss poor quality right there to be doing that during the day, unless the forum is causing it but other photos from other phones don't show that on here.

For some reason the image got heavily compressed downloading from google photos. It should have been around 9mb and ended up far less than 1/3rd and that caused the compression artefacts. The sky isn't compressed like that in a the original.

Hopefully this one works without heavy compression after downloading from GP ...
