More renders: http://9to5google.com/2016/07/29/la...-new-gear-vr-renders-from-all-angles-gallery/

The black one looks awesome. If the rumors that the curved part will be much less curved than the S7 are true then I'm all in. Blacked out spen as well, nice. IP68, I get my removable memory back, always on display, always on notes. It's a hair thicker and taller than the Note 5, but also narrower which will make holding it easier, well maybe not with the curved edges. 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm x 171grams versus 153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9mm x 168grams.

oh thank you than this settles it no note 7 for me.

A lot of us are disappointed in the Note 7 specs. Until the S6 Edge Plus & S7 Edge, the Note was the only Samsung flagship line which featured good battery life along with a big phablet screen. Apple mocked the OG Note too. The Note 4 was considered the pinnacle of their prowess since it featured the latest specs plus a SD slot and a removable battery. Now, the Note 5 came in as the "more attractive sister" with stunning design and a large battery. Great phone, but not the productivity champ it can be since it has less durability. I think the processor difference in the 2015 flagships are negligible for real world usage. The minimal distinctions between the S7 and Note 7 is surprising.

as been said before the note 7 wasn't suppose to be the upgrade for S7 edge users but for note 5 users. Think people are comparing the edge to the note 7 too much. On paper the S7 edge isn't needed to be upgraded to the note 7.

screen size and S pen features is the upgrade really.

Screen size is less than 0.2 inch more so no big deal. Only reason is the s-pen. This is why Europe got no note 5 last year because they know most people would buy s6 edge plus because most people including me don't use the s pen that much.

I bought every note because it had always better specs than the s line, but this changed since note 5.

I've had two notes (original and note 3) and I primarily bought them due to their screen size. I was mildly curious about the s pen on the original note but found I didn't really use it all that much. However in the past the notes also had better specs than their respective S- pen counterparts.

Before the S6 edge plus the note was the only high end phablet that Samsung produced. I opted for the S7 edge as based on the leaks the note 7 will be identical to the s7 edge in terms of specs and the s-pen and iris scanner don't interest me. I never used face unlock even once so I don't think I would use the iris scanner.

The 0.2 extra in screen size has positives and negatives for me. I like phablets and I've used the note 3, however I found it a tad unwieldy. I've been using the 6 plus and now the 6S plus since 2014 and I've never really thought about having a bigger screen. I find 5.5 inches to be very comfortable.

My OH has a s6 edge plus and he has two wireless chargers and various micro usb cables. At least we can share accessories but we couldn't if I got the note 7 as it's going to be USB C. USB C is more future proof but right now it's not compatible with much. I can imagine it being just like that blasted USB 3 port I had to endure on my note 3 and S5.

I'd say it's actually meant more as an upgrade for Note 4 users. We are chronic upgraders but most people don't change phones for 2 years, many even longer. When comparing to the Note 3 and 4, it's a damn substantial bump.

The latest news on 9to5 Google Http://9to5google.com/2016/07/28/ex...rilla-glass-5-microusb-to-usb-c-adapter-more/ and a blog http://www.talkandroid.com/299070-exclusive-samsung-galaxy-note-7-leak-talk-android/ , which supposedly was confirmed by a reliable source, is that the note 7 will come with an adapter for micro-USB to USB-C so it can use your old accessories.

Samsung is offering 5GB of their own cloud storage, too.

Looks like a little later release in Europe (at least parts).

http://www.nowhereelse.fr/galaxy-note7-prix-date-sortie-fiche-technique-photo-officiel-114911/

Sorry, if you don't read French, you'll have to use Google translate.
My Note 5 the value has tanked maybe a later release will give me more time to sell but at$400 or $350 there were no buyers jumping from the 5 to a 7 makes the value plummet.

Also I am fed up with the Note 5s terrible reception. And if it's true the Note 7 only has 4GB RAM then I am sticking with the Note 5

"curves are very gentle, not as drastic as the edge models" - this is repeated over and over by a series of people who claim to have handled the phone. One says false touches were much less prevalent. One says something like the curving is so gentle that you can put a normal flat phone glass screen protector on it, if I interpret correctly. Hmmmmm... I'm still anticipating that I'll hate it, but I wouldn't mind being positively surprised...

It's kind of glass half empty / half full kind of response. Meaning you could look at it positively saying that it's a relief it's less of an issue, but by same token still look negatively at it as acknowledging that false touches are still very much a repercussion.

Typical swings & roundabouts :)

Well if I'm paying 849 or whatever they want for a phone, false touches are not something I'd expect : )

I just don't get why only 3500 mAh? Only 0.2 bigger than S7 edge with slightly updated SoC, so it won't be much of a dip at all though. Somewhere in the Note 4 range. Samsung has amazing video playback as of late, so expect 15h minimum on it.

Can't wait for those 4K display on the S8 next year! Yipee! Like most people even have Ultra HD on their TV's. Most still on 1080p. S8 edge will look like the Note 7. Innovation in slab design is RIP for all manufacturers. Just copying the same things over and over.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is arguably the best Android flagship now until the Note 7 drops. Everyone should know the real flagship since 2011 for Samsung has been the Note series. Galaxy S is only catered to be the best the first half of every new year.

What tax rate do you have ? Here VAT is 23%. I suspect it will be €899 here as the S7E is €799
Sounds about right here we have 20 percent VAT..which of course is still too much given that Austria is run by green morons.

But man 100 Euro more for just the S Pen that's so crazy. Almost Apple like with their IPPP

If the S8/N8 next year are rumored to go 4k I might have to hold off and see. Though that's a very big increase in resolution if battery tech / power usage doesn't become more efficient we could see reductions in battery life...

I understand how it is like that for you and many others. For me that extra 0.2" really matters though. I have the Note 2 and 3, and I'm always frustrated at my 6 Plus for being just that touch smaller when I watch videos etc.

We'll see how that extra display area fares with the curved screen though... If it's like on the S7e, I personally discount the curved part of the screen since everything on it is distorted :S

I think the frustrating part is that the Note from version 1-4 was unique because of the large screen, high res screen, large battery, latest specs, spen, extra features (removable battery, sd card, ir blaster). But starting last year, the things that made it unique are falling by the wayside. Now it looks like the only unique feature its going to have is the spen.

The black one looks really nice and if the curve is less pronounced and helps with false touches it looks like ill be getting one, but its still disappointed compared to what we thought we were going to get a couple a months ago.
