I hope it's not shiney like that in real life. I'm on the fence about the device anyway as I'd happily stick with my s7 edge. However if it looks like it does in those pics I'll definitely won't be getting it. All the specs have been confirmed by the leaked box. They will have to pull something put of the bag at the announcement to get me to return my s7 edge.

No leaked picture of the blue Note 7? i wonder if Samsung have skipped the Note 6 naming to bring it inline with Apple's iPhone 7, which is only a few weeks away from launch as well.

Agreed

I'm hoping they are bringing out something we don't know about

Bring on 4pm

I have read that Ireland has one of the highest iPhone ownership outside of Japan, so likely Samsung simply do not see us as an important country so we were simply not allocated the stock other parts of Europe were. Hey ho.
How many irishmen does it take to preorder a S7 Edge? ;)
Well, it's almost here! Tomorrow I'll wake up to news that they did use the SD821, 6gb RAM, UFS capability, Nougat, oh and it won't have the Samsung logo on the front.

Sigh, then the alarm clock wakes me up.
And a flat screen too!! \o/

Don't think so, read a rumor they want to step up to the Galaxy line with the Note line...

Specs are basically official: Snapdragon 820/S7's Exynos, 4GB of RAM (biggest disappointment), 3500 mAh battery (this confuses me), 12 MP camera (might be slightly improved at best), QHD screen, USB Type C, IP68 rating.

What are three pieces Samsung disappointed in are the following: screen resolution, RAM, and battery life. If you have the capabilities for 4K/Day Dream, why wait till the S8? Put that stuff in the Note 7 and delay it by a few months till November or something. 6GB is available and could distinguish itself from the OP3 and ZTE Axon. Battery life has to be better than 3500 mAh, I would take a thicker device for the extra mAh to work with 4K. Don't save it for the S8, which is a base consumer model.

Don't forget the lack of Nougat. I wouldn't have had an issue waiting another month if that meant it had Nougat. It may even have been less than a month, hell LG is releasing a Nougat phone in September. I'm not looking forward to waiting 8-10 months for Nougat and that's one of the things holding me back. Honestly I'm pretty happy with it as an upgrade over the Note 5, I could have done without the curved edges but I think I'll get used to them. My main gripe is not having the latest and greatest software/Nougat. Once Nougat phones start coming out in a couple of months my very expensive flagship is going to feel dated.

I'll most likely get it though, and hopefully Google will release a true flagship device that I can switch to. Or maybe this will be the year Samsung releases updates quickly (yeah right) and the carriers do also (lol).

Other than battery being a little lower than I suspected, I am not surprised by any of the specs. I pretty much said all along I think internally it would be identical to the S7/S7e.

facepalm at these overdone Samsung presentations and speakers. I wish these companies would cut all the fluff out and just get down to business

Iris Scanner

"As neat as the technology is, it doesn't actually seem that useful right at first blush. When I was trying to unlock a Note 7 with my gaze, getting my eyes lined up correctly took more time than a fingerprint scan normally would. This will probably get easier with time, but be sure to keep your expectations in check all the same"..

Worth upgrading ?

"At the end of the day, though, is it worth ditching a Note 5 for a Note 7? Unclear. Innovation comes in fits and starts, and I'm left wondering what else can be done to make the long-standing Galaxy Note formula indispensable. Anyone looking for dramatic change here might be disappointed, but at this early stage, the Note 7's overall package is still impressive. "

Thank you! I was hesitant to say that on an Apple site but I really really don't like that stuff of overpresentation done by Apple, Samsung, MS and some others. Just cut the stupid music, clapping and (useless) speakers...go down to the star of the show and talk about the specs ...

Android Authority is favorable towards it -

"Our first impressions on the Iris Scanner are pretty positive"

"We applaud Samsung for making a step forward in security features for their phones, and if the Iris Scanner is our next general way of unlocking our devices, at least it has been executed pretty well thus far in the Galaxy Note 7"

Yeah it will likely be one of those features where YMMV dependent on myriad of individual factors.
