Well I'm part of the gang now. Pre-ordered 2 black Note 7's on ATT's BOGO deal, woohoo one free. I'll either sell one, or if my wife wants it will have her use it. ATT said they officially ship out on the 17th or 18th, but no overnight shipping. I hope they ship early though, would be nice.

I hear you, I'm the same. But I don't use Chrome for desktop or tablet so I wouldn't have any sync anyway. I'm praying and hoping that MS brings Edge to mobile, that would resolve all my issues. But it would be a tough choice, blocking ads and being able to sign into websites with fingerprint is pretty powerful and when I'm on another browser I sorely miss those perks. I've looked into things like xmarks to sync, but it just greatly bothers me that these are subscription services.
damn I need to move to america.
[doublepost=1470415958][/doublepost]The South Korean technology firm confirmed the Note 7 will go on-sale in the UK in Blue Coral and Black Onyx on September 2nd.

Customers will be able to pre-order the device from August 16th with an additional colour skew, Silver Titanium, coming soon.

Those who decide to pre-order before 30th August will be rewarded with a special early delivery – three days before the device lands in store.

A free Galaxy Gear VR will also be bundled when you pre-order from select retailers, Samsung has announced.

However the official UK price has not been revealed.

Rumours point to the Galaxy Note 7 setting you back around £699 - £750.

For how much? No JoD instead?

I just switched to JOD when I pre-ordered the Note 7, coming from regular Jump. I paid off my S7 edge awhile ago. Sold it today for $580. Took a small loss of what I paid, but it's about 6 months of usage anyways.

I sold mine for $560, but I got it for $500, so it's not a big deal for me. I am looking to sell my iPhone now and getting my S7 set up when it comes in later today.

Other than s-pen I can't see any reason to upgrade from the S7 Edge. I have the smaller S7 and overall I'm disappointed.

The 64gb internal was important for me. I never had a Note 5, so jotting notes on the lock screen is something I look forward to, plus the added feature to pin it to the Always on Display. I'm a huge Note taker, even installed S-Note on the S7 edge and used my finger. And I'm an addict for shiny new things.

You're going from a S7 edge to the S7?

I personally wanted the S7 active over the Note 7, but it's only ATT exclusive.

I will never use the iris scanner. One of the least touted features of Android wear is having it set as a smart unlock. As long as the phone is paired to my 360 it is unlocked. The second it gets out of range it locks back up.

Yeah. At first I said I will stick with the iPhone 6S Plus, but then said it's expensive to keep around when I can sell it and get a better phone that is cheaper. So I am going the S7 because I want to use a Samsung device without buying a Note 7 because I am not spending $850+ on a phone. I think $500 will be my max on any phone for the foreseeable future.

well

bigger screen
S pen features (both important for me to upgrading
HDR video
screen isn't as curved
more storage is never bad

all important reasons why I'm going from S7 edge to note 7. I miss my S pen and using notes on the screen. I like the biggest possible display and 5.7 inches is ideal for me in what i use my phone for.

I like my edge features but the screen is more curved than the note 7 and from the sounds easier to hold as well.

To fund the note 7 i likely will sell both my S7 edge and 6S plus. Then if the iphone 7 plus isn't worth it which i think is looking more likely then i will just stick with my note 7. Depends on the 7 features but really i want to stick with one phone.

So Note 7/Ipad pro 12.9 and maybe the Tab S3 8.0 will be what i run with until this time next year

Oh dear. I'm glad I'm not getting the note 7. I can't do black or blue. I'd want it in gold and silver at a push. I'm glad I was able to get my s7 edge in pink gold lol

And yeah the US carriers do much better deals. The best deal I ever saw on o2 for the s7 edge was £30 off the gear VR! And that was months after the launch. All they offered at launch were some free Bluetooth headphones.

The gear VR was only offered free by EE, carphone warehouse and Samsung when the S7/edge launched.

It doesn't even sound like they will be offering the free 256GB micro SD card.

I'd rather have the Gear VR for free, instead of the Gear S Fit!!

The iPhone 7 really doesn't sound like it's going to have anything that I want. I'll see how iOS 10 goes but I also may sell my iPhone 6S plus. I'll keep my iPad as I still believe that Apple offer the best tablet experience but I might also pick up one of the new Samsung tab S3's.

After years on iPhone (started with 3G) I'm seriously considering the note 7. Will be a pain due to Apple Watch and 6s plus I'd have to sell. But, do any of you regularly text with iPhone users from android? I did try a moto x for a few weeks and sending videos and pictures to and from my wife's iPhone were awful.

MY wife has an iPhone and I have no issues with texting or MMS her at all.

Makes me wonder if the UK will get the gold as the US it seems won't be getting the gold.

I will be happy with black as that's what I plan to order but silver would be my preferred color.

For those on the fence, here are some things:

Galaxy Note 7: The 7 new features you need to know about! http://www.androidcentral.com/7-things-know-about-galaxy-note-7

The more I delve into the features the more excited I get. I really only write with the pen and don't often use it for navigation. But the magnification features looks very nice, especially for my old failing eyes. I can see using that quite often.

Another thing that people don't praise enough IMO is themes. Even better, on the Note 7 now you can have not only a custom theme, but separate custom icons!!! There are tons of themes on Samsung's store, and these themes are system wide so everything changes and matches. Want a dark mode? It's in there. Want a purple with pink mode? It's in there. I'm still surprised at vanilla Android's very poor implementation of themes, even in Nougat on my 6p.

I would use it, but my issue is that I need a browser to sync with my devices and computers.

Just remembered there is a chrome extension that syncs with the Samsung browser, it's called Samsung Sync. I don't use chrome very often on desktop so I haven't really tried it, but it sounds interesting and may let you use Samsung's browser.

Using the stock messaging app? I remember if she sent me a picture with some text the photo would come through as a crappy video instead of just a photo. It was odd.

I use the stock app which I believe is Samsung's, not Googles. pictures come out no issue, videos seem to be overly compressed and crappy and I'm not sure if that's endemic to Android or if iPhone to iPhone has the same issue.

I can say that iPhone to iPhone does not have that issue due to iMessage.

Yea, this is my fear. I can just have her email but she's stubborn. May still be worth it as the note taking features look extremely useful.
