I'm really interested to see how the new Samsung Cloud works, will only be for Note 7 users at first, wonder if it's as good as Apples Cloud. If it backs up truly everything and can even restore your app placements, messages, settings like iCloud, it will be a great thing
Yeah I'm hoping for the same. One of the nice things about facebook messenger or what's app is that u wouldn't lose your messages by switching devices. It's all cloud based unlike iMessage which is server pushed to device based.

Currently running the Note 7 ported rom on my S7 and the first thing I notice is that now samsung browser can open link in the background. Also, samsung cloud seems nice.

Do you need to root at all for the port?
I would suggest holding off before installing the port. Its a really a hack at this point and is filled with many bugs. Its best to wait until the latest drivers get released and the majority of bugs squashed before installing it and using it as a daily.

Are the items listed the only things that Samsung Cloud backsup on the device? What about messages, S-health info, anything else?

Does Samsung still include the app and cord to make it easy for iPhone people to port over to Android?
Yeah SmartSwitch is installed and a USB OTG adapter is included in the box. You are prompted as soon as you begin the set up of your new device about transfering content from your previous device over.

FYI Target is offering the note 7 plus the choice of the fit or the 256gb sd card + 100 target gift card for preordering. Also offering 200 target gift card for smartphone trade ins.

Have you seen any reputable manufacturers advertising screen protectors yet?
Not seen any yet to be honest, even on amazon there isn’t a huge selection yet. Spigen seem to be the one who have all the cases out already.

The last step I followed is to root the device. But I doubt we can install custom rom on S7 without rooting.

Did you try a restore yet?

Yes I did. It restores fine, but the application setting failed to restore. Other than that, like message, call log, alarm, restore just fine. Don't know about s-health as I don't use it.

im the same :) my S7 arrives tomorrow and I already have 5 cases and a screen protector waiting for it lol :)
It's why I think i will pass on buying any cases that cost abit expensive. Like the offical s view covers for example will cost like £20-30..so don't want to pay too much. These £6 cases do the job.

Looking at the leaks for the iPhone, I've decided to stick to android exclusively until the 2017 iPhone at least. I'm going to give it a proper longterm run without ios. The s7 edge has been great and has been serving me well. At the moment I have no desire at all to return to Apple. My only issue is that if you stick with apple only, toy are limited to the amount of money you can waste changing phones but with android, there are so many to choose from and I could change every 3 months quite easily

I have too many friends & family on iMessage who seemingly refuse to use any other messaging service, even though some are also on what's app as well, for me to be able to swap away from Apple at the moment and just exclusively run Android. Plus there's my heavy investment in iTunes.

I'm in the same boat. All friends and family use iMessage. But why does that stop you from switching? Granted it's easier to use iMessage when everyone else uses it but shouldn't SMS/mms work fine (although it sucks compared to iMessage).
