All in all it seems like they don't really have a clue what's going on. With some saying you can't buy sim free as its not on the system yet and then some being able to sell you one sim free.

that is a great question! I hope they keep it compatible with both Nougat and TW. If Sammy blocks Nougat's version...that would not be good!
Okay so yeah I found a best buy with a Samsung store with live note 7s unbranded without carrier bloat.
First impressions was nice hardware, beautiful screen. So that was good but, and I'm going to be honest here. That is where the impression stopped. It was very slick a bit hard to hold, didn't help be on a leash, I Still noticed the lag switching between pages scrolling. Yeah demo mode. Yeah not real-life use. I was underwhelmed and had a meh feeling and didn't spend much time with it. I didn't need too really.
Now with that being said, it's becoming more clear that I'm not the target audience here. I kind of miss the good old days, the note 2 days.

In between tbh. It's not as grippy as I expected or in comparison to the different patterns I've seen on this case the last few years but I think it'll start to feel grippier with use. It's got that clean, fresh from the manufacturer feel atm

Nothing going on here. I remember getting my Note 5 a couple days early last year. Was hoping for early next week, but looks like it'll be late next week.

Would be cool if you could get a choice of colour edges to suit - a bit moto-maker style. Black with bronze / copper edges would look really nice too.
You can't compare any iOS device with at least an A9 chip to the lag on a S7, S7 Edge, Note 7. All of the iOS devices feel like they are turbocharged in comparison, and I'm the one still wanting a Note 7. You just can't deny the speed and optimization of iOS and the latest hardware. Lightning fast on both iPad Pro's I think. Just my opinion from using these various devices.
TW is still missing lots of stuff from Nougat. I hope Samsung and/or the carriers don't start getting a free pass, Nougat should still be released in a reasonable time frame. Honestly I think it should be released a month or 2 after it's official release, so if it's released Sept then I would like to see it on my device in Nov, but honestly I'd be satisfied even if I got it before the end of the year. Reality is that Samsung will probably release it closer to Feb 2017 and US carriers will have it closer to March/June 2017 or worse.

Lol snobbish. I'm not a big fan of the two tone variety, the Note 5 had that with the dark blue with silver frame. Samsung has slowly but surely become less and less gaudy with every iteration. Anyone else miss the fake chrome paint that peeled on the Note 3 frame?!?!
I'm torn now. The hardware on Note 7 looks amazing and apart from dual-SIM is has pretty much everything I'd want. In addition, Samsung seems to be improving on the software front as well. When it comes to tech, Samsung has fixed many shortcomings they used to have and their current stuff is quite amazing. Now if only they fixed their behavior to a level where I wouldn't have any second thoughts about giving my money to them. Purchase decisions would be so much easier then.

I'm positive that if we were able to see the true, full picture of how these huge companies go about their business, we'd be equally appalled at both of them. Sometimes one looks more decent than the other, sometimes it's the other way around - I think that's just how the propaganda and media swings.
But even that wouldn't be a true measure because of the way the different operating system handle things, plus other variables such as read/write speeds, ram management, and app optimization. These videos are putting the phones against each other, not the processors. Closest thing we have to compare the processors is geekbench, and the A9 comes out on top over the latest Snapdragon and Exynos.
