Just ordered my onyx black note 7 with second generation tmobile JUMP.....cant wait to enjoy this beast after all the positive hands on reviews

that is a great question! I hope they keep it compatible with both Nougat and TW. If Sammy blocks Nougat's version...that would not be good!

Knowing Samsung, they probably will.
[doublepost=1471045618][/doublepost]I really like this phone, but I don't want to spend that amount of money, so I am entering every giveaway on YouTube and hoping for the best.

In addition, Samsung seems to be improving on the software front as well. They're already quite good with the security updates and if they keep up with their recent Nougat promise

it's hard to tell, but it depends a lot on the carrier. They do release monthly security updates, but the carrier don't push them back. In two years I got

initial release = v4.4
  • got two security updates
  • upgrade to v5.0
  • 1 security update
  • upgrade to v5.1
  • upgrade to v5.1.1
  • upgrade to 6.0.1
Even if I appreciate the fact that I got a few major upgrades, my phone still contains between each version major security holes. I also won't receive any of the released security patches.

I have a few bugs with my N4.. sometime I can't answer the phone.. and I need to call back.. bugs when unlocking..

Globally, I like the N7, only two things I don't like:
- no battery replacement program
- carrier managed patches

And some other few things I don't like about Android in general..

But man the screen is great and I love the SPen! :)

Okay so yeah I found a best buy with a Samsung store with live note 7s unbranded without carrier bloat.

First impressions was nice hardware, beautiful screen. So that was good but, and I'm going to be honest here. That is where the impression stopped. It was very slick a bit hard to hold, didn't help be on a leash, I Still noticed the lag switching between pages scrolling. Yeah demo mode. Yeah not real-life use. I was underwhelmed and had a meh feeling and didn't spend much time with it. I didn't need too really.

Now with that being said, it's becoming more clear that I'm not the target audience here. I kind of miss the good old days, the note 2 days.

4 hours battery life compared to 6 he had with the s7 edge
100maH shouldn't make 33% difference. (3600 vs 3500) It's likely he was simply using his 'new' device more in his initial 24 hours, and remember it does usually take 72-86 hours for battery life to level out. Given this was only a 24 hours impression I wouldn't be too concerned just yet.

Ouch, that's quite horrible. Fortunately the carriers over here (to my knowledge) have long ago abandoned any desires to add their additional branding & bloatware to phones and instead push at least the updates whenever the manufacturer releases them. It's still baffling how some operators can be irresponsible enough to deny security updates from their users.

Not only 100mAh difference, also a bigger screen with the potential to crank up brightness to 1048 nits ;)
But of course we have to wait first reviews to get more detailed informations.

Those are pretty extreme IMO, in my experience it would be very difficult to scratch it like that, although I'm not saying it's impossible. I know the back glass of my Note 5 is very easy to replace, but with the water resistance I wonder how difficult it will be to replace the N7 glass back? I may just go with a skinomi on the back this time around just to be safe.

the calendar I laid out was for all canadian Note4. I checked for fun TMOBILE (USA), and the only difference is that they released 1 security updates after 6.0.1. Knowing that Samsung release monthly security updates, I feel screwed with most non-IOS phone. I had a Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 tablet, they receive updates very often but I don't prefer them to an iPhone.

In reality I don't need daily, monthly updates but I need to know that if a critical flaw is discovered that my phone will be patched. With the current carrier update restriction, I know it's not possible.

I love the hardware so much, it's little things in the software that makes me think.

You're lucky to not have this issue.
