Preach @MRU

Completely right about the reviews and other peoples opinions. It's only what you think and feel about the device that matters.
If I listened to the internet and to other people, I would have got rid of my BlackBerry Priv ages ago! Or not even bought one!

Instead it's enjoying the longest streak than any phone I've had in recent times, and I still love it.

I do have the Note 7 itch though. I don't think I want to give up the Priv but the Note 7 just looks brilliant and that hands on I had last week hasn't helped my wanting!
I just worry in case the honey moon period doesn't last long and it's gone within 3 months.

Question, would the blue light filter prolong the life of the display since it's the blue leds that dim overtime leading to burn in?

So have any of you tmobile people gotten your phones early?

Mine is still processing, but the AT&T rep said I should get it Thursday.

Reading reviews now.
I seriously seriously want this phone.

I'm in CPW tomorrow (do a Weds afternoon shift) and I am seriously going to find out what I can get this phone for.
Looking like I will buy it outright if I do get it.

Would've been disappointed at the Note7 if both web and video playback were under 10h. Video playback is still quite stellar (15h). This isn't as bad as the Nexus devices which rarely reach 10h on both. There is a bigger discrepancy between S7 edge variants than Note7 variants.

While Michael Fisher was a tad disappointed it didn't hit 5h SOT, and Jaime Rivera said it was fine. Neither one tested it under any power saving mode. Most can live with a 1080p resolution. If Note7 didn't have that feature, then it would be a little more concerning.

Average external speaker is a given since the S7e were not that great either after being IP68 certified. Price don't matter to me if you're paying for having the best. I sometimes feel Josh Vergara sounds too positive. I don't mind hearing their flaws since all phones and OSes have them.

75 minutes is quite fast! Only 10 minutes slower than the LG V10 tested on PhoneArena. Thank goodness, Samsung actually includes a fast charger. Other phones have fast charging but a fast charger is never included.

Didn't bother to read the Note7 reviews from AnandTech and PhoneArena. The latter (Ray S) gave it an 8.7 while iPhone SE gets 8.8. Nothing surprising from the worst phone review site ever. The comments there are smarter than the reviewers. Ray Slavov didn't really give an indication on battery life either.

Android Authority (17m) review

watching films/live sport i think the edge for one was amazing battery wise and didn't drop much % wise. So i imagine same will be for the note 7..

I hope the battery life is decent. I've been less than impressed with battery life on my Note 5.

If anyone is considering switching carriers like I am......t mobile told me they are running a promotion starting Friday. You get an additional $150 for switching carriers. That's on top of them paying off your contract or device from another carrier. Just great.

Android Authority (17m) review

Yes, soccer moms generally watch 20+ minute reviews detailing smartphones in depth. How sweetly sexist of you to say! (Don't even bother defending the comment or using some protection phrase like "political correctness has ruined my ability to say demeaning things about people who aren't like me!". You should just delete, apologize, and expect better of yourself next time.)

I'll also say the rest of you immediately crapping on any reviews that aren't glowing over a phone none of you have even used yet is supremely silly. The reviews have been pretty good/great. I read anantech, and despite the caterwauling the review came across as fair, and that site uses actual data to back up their statements. Yes, I agree it makes no sense to point out how much the Note costs as a complaint vs not mentioning an iPhone. Then again, you also get world class customer service from Apple for their devices, that costs money. Ask any Motorola buyers over the last couple of years if CS is overrated as a feature. I actually found the flaws to be in line with my own experiences with the GS7E, which makes sense. None of them have said the phone is bad, it seems the closest to a negative is that unless you really need the S-Pen, the phone isn't much different than an Edge thus it may not be worth the premium.

Hysterical whenever people who claim bias and fanboyism immediately defend a phone they don't even own yet. Uh huh.

Best buy also has a promo where you get a $200 gift card for opening a new line, not sure if it works on upgrading. But I think I'm going to wait a bit to see if Verizon offers something, last time they waited a week after the S7/S7 edge went on sale and offered their BOGO. Verizon's cellular service is not doing great from what I read and I'll bet they are hungering for more subs this year and the Note 7 is the hottest thing out now. No way I'm paying full price for this, but with a BOGO I sell one of them and get the other for free.

Oh god, not the soccer mom whining, or should I say caterwauling, here we go. Hey if it makes you feel better I'm a soccer dad. I'm glad to know we're paying for Apple's "world class customer service", although I can get the same service from my carrier for any phone including all the cheap phones.

But your caterwauling aside, I do agree that the Anandtech review wasn't that bad. The author just put in his own critique and opinion on it, not exactly impartial but it gives us an idea of what some consumers might not like. Although the most useless job in the world is a critic. We can't expect every review to be glowing, just 99% of them.

They have $200 off for Galaxy devices, sans Note 7, with a minimum plan set up. They're being more aggressive with the Galaxy promos now.
