Think I'm happy with today's battery stats
3 hours, 30 minutes screen time
1 day, 1 hour total
Which included 2 hours of music.
How much of that was on wifi?

After disabling Location Services, GPS and turning off most Google services, looks like I'm doing ok. Just a shame I have to essentially cripple my phone to get decent battery life. Here's the latest from earlier today from Wakelock Detector and a screenshot of my battery summary. You'll notice Google Services went from 25-35% of my battery usage to now under 10%

What music app do you guys recommend for someone who's going directly from the iPhone to the G4? So far, I haven't had any luck in syncing my music to my Galaxy the way I want it to, or to put it in other words, the way it used to look on my iPhone.

Ok... Im 90% convinced in selling my iphone 5 and get the S4... The only thing holding me is the upcoming S4 Google Edition...
I have a 4S and about to come off my contract (two months). I'm having a tough time deciding between s4 and one; however, I think I've decided on the s4 after using one today. On the other hand, however, I'd be more then happy to stay with iOS if the next iPhone was gunna be awesome, which, according to leaks, isn't happening; I'm changing because the iPhone is becoming boring for me. I would wait for the 5S to be announced, however, it seems its a good 5-6 months away, and going down the waiting game path is a dangerous one (e.g "oh no i don't like the 5s, gonna get a s4, oh no but wait the s5 is only a few months away") Anyone got any advice?
Anyone else having android system take up most of there battery life? I downloaded a bunch of live wallpapers and I think one of them might be causing it.
I disabled a bunch of stuff I don't use and my battery is very good but the system is showing high drain.
I got about 3 hours screen time and I'm at 40%
What's showing up in the app management as running ? If there is stuff showing up in there that you are not using but it's running away anyway - then thats the stuff to look at disabling or uninstalling.
I saw an online retailer in my country selling the octa-core I9500 S4 $30 cheaper off contract than the I9505 Snapdragon LTE model.
Why would anyone sell the more powerful model at a cheaper price besides the lack of LTE support for the I9500 model?
It's slightly more powerful only.
The octa-core marketing term is misleading . At any given time, you are either using the A7 cores, or the A15, depending on app. The phone can not run on all eight cores at once (and good luck getting a dev to do it too, Samsung never releases their exynos sources so not going to happen).
Basically, its a quad core phone with core switching ability in real terms. Not an eight core one which run at the same time.
a bunch of stuff that has to do with touchwiz and the os.I think I disabled something it needs and is trying to keep restarting something else that is caused by another process that I shut down.
I found a process called elm agent and it said restarting but was not and just sitting there.I think I found it and shut that down so I will see if that works
But those quad cores are next gen a15 monsters and clock for clock are 30% more powerful
We never have this problem with ios
30% is not shown in real life performance, which is easily seen once you actually compare a One and S4. It is great for benchmarks though.
Also the krait 300 is no slouch either. Both exynos and s600 are 28nm based too btw.
Being able to disable processes you don't use is a problem?
----------
It's actually closer to 40% clock for clock and krait is a a9
Hybrid design. Even krait 800 won't match true a15 performance.
And both being on the same node size have nothing to do with each other. That's like saying amds 32nm is as power efficient as intels 32nm
Krait 300 is closer to a15 than a9.
And it shows once you swipe around on one and s4, with s4 getting bogged out crazy by its bloat despite a screaming a15 while the krait keeps the optimized sense flying.
Anyone who buys phones with paper specs as first priority is in for a big shock once real life results kick in.
