I would not get the AT&T one in this case then.
It comes with a locked bootloader which reduces your chance of a bug free stock android image from the google edition port in case you want it.

If the bootloader is cracked, then this becomes a non-issue (or if you just prefer TW and will be happy not flashing etc)

The one from T-Mobile comes with an unlocked bootloader?

There are two clusters of quad core processors.

At no point EVER are there both clusters operating together.

You have one set of fast quad core and one slower less powerful quad core set. The device will use whichever it needs to use based on the power requirements of the process at hand.

But again at no stage are both sets of processors operating together. Its either one or the other, and always ... quad core.

So yes it's really quad (big.little) but for marketing they are calling it octo core - but its not octo core at all. Octo-core traditionally would imply the 8 cores work together, this is not the case with big.little architecture.

It's possible for the big.LITTLE architecture to function as 8 cores but it's not enabled on the S4.

Also, I can possibly cite the slightly increased battery life of the GT-I9500 because it might have switched to the smaller LITTLE cores during low power use.

Can anyone shed light on this... I'm a Samsung noob.

I read somewhere you can buy and upgrade to a bigger battery? True or false?

You could for the S2 and S3 IIRC, they were slightly fatter so came with another back plate to accommodate the extra thickness. (I'm not sure if Samsung made them though). I have not seen one for the S4 yet (that doesn't mean that they don't exist though). No doubt that in the coming months the S4 will be catered for. :)

Got the Galaxy a few days ago, and so far I love it. Without a doubt, I will never go back to the iPhone. Android just provides so much more utility and function that the iPhone lacked in even basic compartments.

But there's something Samsung majestically failed at that Apple succeeded. Computer -> Phone syncing. It's especially a nightmare for Mac users. Kies is a debacle of a program and I'm surprised Samsung even decided to release it. Seriously, Kies makes iTunes look like a pearl.

I know I'll get a lot of hate but I have to say it; Syncing and organizing music to the Galaxy is a pain. Call me spoiled, maybe lazy, but I'm too used to the ease with which iTunes allowed me to organize my library, create playlists, and a heap of other functions that seem to be absent when just syncing via drag/drop. iTunes behaved as a central station for which my music collection was organized. Now that I have an Android device, it no longer does any of the functions I utilized, other then acting as a player. What I do in iTunes (i.e., create playlists) must be repeated on the Android. I don't like it.

So I guess I'll just buy a iPod nano to accomodate for that. Unless some body here is kind enough to guide me out of my blindsidedness.

How about double twist? A lot of people recommend that.

I am not a sync person and prefer to manage my stuff in labeled folders than in iTunes, but what other heap of functions do you get by syncing if you dont mind me asking? :)

I must admit that I'm not all that "into syncing" but have wondered the same thing. Once my contacts, calendar and music is set up then I hardly ever plug my S4 into my MBP, unless I am missing something (which is a distinct possibility :)) I don't see the need. :D

My phone does the normal syncing with my Google account but it isnt something I worry about, I just let it get on with it in the background.

There are apps that sync your music with iTunes if you still want to use it. I keep all my music on my external card and when i want to ad any, i just download it using Frostwire or a music app and drag it over to my card but could leave it on the internal if i wanted to,....i just dont want to.
Transfering from iTunes there is DoubleTwist, iSyncr(which is very good)Easy Phone Tunes and there are others.

Syncing music is so archaic. Why not try Google Music? Just install it on your iTunes box and it will suck up all your music to the cloud. You'll never sync again!

Technically that is still syncing....... Albeit a third party app is syncing and your them accessing it to get your music.

Also the idea of uploading and then downloading your music you already have on your computer could be seen as a little moribund also.

And if you don't like google music play app - your scuppered too.

Add that if you have big iTunes library it can take 'forever' and a day to upload your tracks. It took a week for me to put 1200 tracks on google music with my computer turned on 24 hours a day...

Given the fact I have 24,000 more tracks in my library - I just gave up. Life's literally too short to wait for google music to upload. They need a proper 'matching' service like iTunes - because at the moment its too slow and too time consuming.

If I had a library that big, I would copy it to an SD card and then plug it into my phone. I still think there are better options than iTunes. Even my iOS devices don't use iTunes anymore.

I got this and 2 extra batteries but I haven't needed them yet. I had the one you bought for my S3 but this one just makes more sense. You can charge a battery with it or plug in a USB cable and charge a device directly. It's a lot cheaper too (£6 vs £40)

How long ago was this? They do have a matching feature now, and it is free. Last week I uploaded my entire library, which is right at 3,000 songs, in about an hour. Most of my songs were matched and not even uploaded.

My only complaint with Google Music is the lack of a desktop app. I want to use the music controls on my keyboard.

Must admit that mine took about a week also, well over 10,000 songs. It was done more or less when it was introduced into the UK, IIRC yhe matching service was active then. :)

Thing is, once it's done, it's done and I am very happy with the result. :)

Yeah this was only 6 weeks ago when they introduced it to Ireland. Didn't seem to match anything, everything seemed to upload compared to iTunes match which I also have, which only uploaded around 500 out of the 25000 ....

Now I'm just hoping both iTunes Match and Google Play up there amount allocation as I'm full :'(

How do you get new music and update/create playlists? Thats the only reason I sync to my rMBP. I had the iphone 5 so all my stuff is already in itunes....

I use Google Music for everything. I have a decent sized music collection but I don't listen to every song every time. Why waste all that space on multiple devices? I download my frequently played songs and cache the rest as needed.

Google Music also lets me add and upgrade new devices without waiting for hours for iTunes to sync my library.

Is there any word on when the big accessories they talked about are going to be released? Specifically the wireless charging dock? All the estimated dates I'm seeing around the internet have already come and gone.

Screw the dock, the back cover is what we need. Nokia makes better charging plates and what Not.
