Agree on all points, but I have fairly large hands so that's not really a concern for me. Didn't have any issues with the One X+ I was using so I doubt I'll run into any issues with the One.

Consider me weird but as much as I hate the dedicated home button, I actually end up enjoying it just for the sake of waking up a device. It just feels more natural to me rather than sliding up finger up the side or top of the device. It does sort of break the flow and design of the device, but in return offers "tactile" benefits. So on that aspect its a wash for me.

Battery life will most likely sway in Samsung's favor simply due to a larger battery plus the option to swap/upgrade to higher capacity packs. But as of now that's the only thing that makes a check mark next to S4 for me.

Good points.

The battery life for the HTC One is a major concern for me. Reviews have it ranging from decent to average, and with HTC's history regarding battery life, that worries me a great deal. The HTC One X, when first reviewed, said the battery life was good too, but my experiences were horrendous when it came to lasting a day.

I suppose time will tell.

It certainly looks like real metal in the first leaked video. And that brushed metal '4' in the ads hopefully does point to something. Here's to hoping! :) Even though the rest of the casing would be plastic, a metal frame around the sides would certainly improve the feel of the whole thing.

I hope so!

Good grief...have you actually USED the S3 or Note 2? Obviously not, since you'd know that you don't "accidentally" press the home button...ever.

Yes I have. I'm not the only one who has that issue. When I'm playing game I always hit the button for no reason.

this is the first I have ever heard of anyone having a problem with the home button and its coming from someone that doesn't even have the phone lmfao

sour grapes for all the haters of the gs3 and gs4 :D

Now I did hit the back button a few times when I first got the phone while I was getting used to the size but never once have I hit the home button by accident!

What makes you think I don't have the phone?

2360mah v 2600mah not a huge difference, about 9% total.

But 1.8ghz and more powerful gpu v 1.7ghz cpu and slightly less powerful gpu could make that 9% battery capacity result in very little difference in every day usage.

Then this is a classic case of that dreaded enigma known as...USER ERROR. "When I'm playing game I always hit the button for no reason". Then STOP DOING THAT!

Don't blame the phone for something you're doing wrong.

You can't just compare battery mAh ratings, since the two devices have very different specs. SoC's and display type are two big contributing factors to battery life.

And then do not forget you are comparing Sense 5 to the new TouchWiz. Each offers features that may or may not cause more battery usage.

If the leaked images are of the real product... bleh.

How can you possibly compare this to the HTC One? Pending tonights announcement and unveil, will probably stick with my N4 unless I find a good deal on the HTC One or they somehow miraculously stick a bigger battery in there.

It's gonna kill the htc , it already seems easier to hold in the hand and the software is gonna our it over the top plus the battery life should be better.

I do realise that ;)

i'm just saying I personally wouldn't expect huge difference between the two. But we shall see when benchmarks come in. To me battery life is ok as long as I can last a day on any device as it always go on charge on my bed nightstand. :)

I dunno, somewhere in West Texas
As the president & founder of the DNPSEA foundation, I must say the S4 is giving me second thoughts about the HTC One. I have purposely avoided Samsung android devices for the last 3 years but it's probably time to see if they can redeem themselves. The Note 2 almost won me over but not quite like the HTC One X+. Maybe the S4 can bridge that gap.

Engadget reviewer said 6 hr with constant video and 9 hr with general constant use. Sounds good to me.

Ok, I'm probably holding it wrong.

Well you can be our resident tester and get the S4 to compare with the HTC One that you are getting you lucky dog :p

How do you know its easier to hold? Have you held both the One and the S4? Reviews so far have said the HTC is very easy to hold due to the curved back. From leaked pictures of the S4 it seems to have the same flat back as the Note 2, which was not very ergonomic in my opinion.

Speculating about battery is pointless as well at this point since we don't have final specs. Add that to the fact that even 2 people with the same phone can have different results with said battery life.

Leaked photos of the S4...

Gee, looks like the S3. "How will people know we're using the new phone?" Didn't Samsung make fun of Apple because the iPhone 5 looks like the 4/4S?

But you cant tell them apart!

iphone-4-vs-iphone-4S_1.jpg

Im guessing once the pictures are released later, you will easily be able to tell the difference between an S3 and an S4.

I said it in another thread, but who cares if it looks the same? We don't expect Apple to have a redesign for every iteration. Why do people expect Samsung to have one? Are they not allowed to keep a similar design while instead focusing on software or internal improvements?

This was originally posted a few pages back and included a screenshot with an IMEI. After looking up the IMEI you got a hit out of the IMEI database that was listed as an iPhone.

Also Sammy allegedly leaked pictures of its S3 back when it was being released that made it look like an iteration of the S2. Complete with the same textured back, camera, chrome mid bezel/buttons and squarish home button style.

Guess we find out in about 6 hours if these leaks are genuine or dummy cases that Sammy has used in the past.

Well, honestly that was after the iPhone looking exactly the same for two full years...

IMO this alleged S4 is updated enough looks-wise, I'll repost what I wrote two pages back:

The screen is bigger, the bezel is markedly smaller (just compare the homebutton area) and the shape is rather noticeably tweaked too imo, with less rounded edges at the top and bottom. In my taste the S3 is too "pebble"-shaped and toy looking, but this one I would buy (if I wasn't already hooked on the Note 2 ).
