Of course I understand there are a lot of people who prefer the S3 over the Iphone. Everyone has different tastes.

My point was that NO ONE would buy an iPhone because they didnt want one. However, many people would buy an S3 even though they didnt prefer it due to cost.

This makes the numbers sold even more and less remarkable depending on which manufacturer you look at.

Not true. I don't want an iPhone, but at this point in time, it's the only option I have for an unlocked phone where I can safely change my mind in under 30 days.

Debunked. Move along.

No, that's something you've just made up and trying to pass off as a fact.

As already pointed out, theres not much difference in price between the two handsets, so if you couldnt afford an iPhone 5, chances are you couldnt afford a Galaxy S3.

Plus if someone wanted an iPhone that badly, they would settle for the cheaper iPhone 4S ;)

For the rest of us who are still interested, tons of leaked photos here. More than what the Verge had. Any chance that the sides are real metal, instead of that fake brush aluminum that just looks cheap and pathetic?

that is the biggest load of **** I have ever heard,NO ONE that wants an iphone and there ios eco system would ever buy a gs3 because of 50 bucks.

What are you going to say when Samsung breaks records sales next month when the iphone 5 is cheaper and Samsung is the new flagship?

I can get an iphone 5 for 127 bucks right now here in the satates and the gs4 will cost me around 300(that's what the note 2s go for with 2 year plan)You are just plain wrong about people buying a gs3 because of it being cheaper then the iphone 5,if they wanted a cheaper phone they would get a gs2 or another cheap android phone if cost was the issue, this is the top end flagship phones and are always priced high and everybody knows that. When I go pic up my gs4 and the guy says hey Ill give you a free iphone 5 and an iphone 4s I would still say no bro, heres 600 bucks give me that unlocked fing gs4 now before its sold out

The more I see of the S4, the more its starting to grow on me. Looking forward to seeing some videos of it later with English language being used on the software.

Just hope they release a white version!

If the leaked images are of the real product... bleh.

How can you possibly compare this to the HTC One? Pending tonights announcement and unveil, will probably stick with my N4 unless I find a good deal on the HTC One or they somehow miraculously stick a bigger battery in there.

What's with the weird things where the capacitive buttons are ? Is it the back light for the capacitive buttons ? If so it must mean the shell is very very thin ?

Yeah, I think this is a no brainer. The HTC One is clearly the more beautiful device.

However, there are some things about the One that really irk me. The power/wake button at the top is so far away (ever use an HTC One X for a good period of time? It's laboring to reach up to the power/wake button. Remember, it's the only way to wake AND sleep the device). Devices this large cannot afford to have the only access button far away.

The reconfiguring of the Home button from the center also bugs me (and all for a logo; there's no real good reason why HTC did that). It throws things off. Reviews have said it's awkward to reach for. Home at the center just makes so much more sense.

Conversely... I'm not thrilled that the S4 insists on keeping a physical home button. Samsung (and LG, Motorola, Sony) have the right frame of mind by putting the power/wake button the side, where it's reachable. But... why not capacitive buttons for home? :T

Decisions, decisions...

Nice catch! I hadn't noticed those.

Man, that's really got me wondering what those could be. I mean, I guess it could just be a different setup for the capacitive buttons, but if I'm seeing it right, it looks like two rows of 4 "dots" on each side.

Maybe it's some crazy new thing Samsung has come up with that hasn't leaked out? LOL...my mind is running wild now. :D

I do really question your intelligence as you have not caught me out on ANY points.

S3 vs Iphone 5 cost = fail
Not one single person buying an S3 for cost when I know some who have = fail

Really.......:confused::eek::eek::eek:

Like I said enjoy the S4.

Oh, your back again! I thought "I wasnt worth going off topic for" ;)

Anyway, feel free to question my intelligence as much as you like.

S3 vs iPhone 5 Cost?
See post 438 for PAYG and post 444 for contract - I thought we caught you out there.

As for your "friends" - Why didnt they get an iPhone 4S instead of settling for the Galaxy S3 if they wanted an iPhone so badly? (Rhetorical question)

Anyway, lets keep this on topic please.

I actually like the device. With subtle changes, they improved the looks. Very thin body, big battery, excellent screen.

This is better than S3 in every aspect.

here in the states the gs3 was cheaper then the iphone 5 during q4 and there were crazy sales for both phones but some carriers had buy 1 gs3 and get 1 free for 99 and some places had the gs3 for 99 with a 2 year along with the iphone 5 being dropped down to as low as 127 with a 2 year and guess what?the gs3 was cheaper and apple still sold more iphone 5 during q4 as people started buying note 2s and other flagship androids like the nexus and dna.

if price was the selling point why did apple sell more with the gs3 being cheaper?Im not a crazy fan but I know apples biggest market is the usa and samsungs biggest market is the UK,everyone knows Samsung killed it in the uk for 2012 and so did apple here in the states. It has nothing to do with cost, both phones are status symbols now

It certainly looks like real metal in the first leaked video. And that brushed metal '4' in the ads hopefully does point to something. Here's to hoping! :) Even though the rest of the casing would be plastic, a metal frame around the sides would certainly improve the feel of the whole thing.

I was like you when I first saw and then got the S3. I wasn't really pleased with the physical home button. But the more I used my S3 (and at the time I had the Galaxy Nexus), the more I realized that I don't really like the on-screen buttons. I hate how they take up some of the screen real estate (I know, they move or disappear when needed), but there's something about them that bugs me. I mean, I can get past it if I had to, but I think I actually prefer the physical home button.

I couldn't have said it better myself (and I own and love the S3). :D

If they're adding physical home button at least make it recessed and flush with body so you don't accidentally press it all the time. So much for next big thing.

Agree on all points, but I have fairly large hands so that's not really a concern for me. Didn't have any issues with the One X+ I was using so I doubt I'll run into any issues with the One.

Consider me weird but as much as I hate the dedicated home button, I actually end up enjoying it just for the sake of waking up a device. It just feels more natural to me rather than sliding up finger up the side or top of the device. It does sort of break the flow and design of the device, but in return offers "tactile" benefits. So on that aspect its a wash for me.

Battery life will most likely sway in Samsung's favor simply due to a larger battery plus the option to swap/upgrade to higher capacity packs. But as of now that's the only thing that makes a check mark next to S4 for me.

Good grief...have you actually USED the S3 or Note 2? Obviously not, since you'd know that you don't "accidentally" press the home button...ever.
