Wow you still troll HTC even in a Samsung thread.. Your vitriol knows no bounds...

Grow up. I've probably owned more HTC and Sammy phones than most people here. Don't need you to be the little HTC police around here. If you love HTC, then good for you. But I've had more than enough experience with both brands to know where my preference lies these days.

Those software features didn't interest me at all. Then again I guess I'm not the target market - the idea of taking ********s of photos and syncing everything to a "family hub" is utterly pointless to me, but then I don't even see the appeal in Facebook.

The gesture stuff is cool, as is the eye tracking stuff, but I'd have to see how well it actually works in real life use.

Overall there was nothing there at all that made go "wow." Nothing there makes the S4 more appealing than the S3 to me. Right now I think I'll just buy the S3 and wait for Samsung to add some of those software features to it as they said they would (according to the Verge). Outdated hardware it may be, but it's still very good, it'll be supported for some time (Samsung even gave Jelly Bean to the GS2), and it'll be a lot cheaper now the S4 is on the block. Plus I can still buy an LTE model.

No difference. Sony can be just as guilty too. Hence my preference for stock Android.

I'm curious how this will play out. I really like the Xperia Z, but Sony is ****ing up by not brining it to the US. In fact, they've told us NOTHING about the US market.

Damn it looks nice. Hmmm wonder if the note 2 will get all these camera features in an update.

At 441dpi you just think its disappointing. If they gave it to you and said it wasnt you wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

How is this any different from HTC Sense completely taking over Android? HTC is worse at this because it completely botches the native multitasking.

The multitasking issue has been solved via Jelly Bean, it's a non issue that keeps being brought up redundantly. Sense is nothing like crapwiz. You can't compare the refinement and elegance of a uniformed UI (i.e Sense) to a messy playpen that has no uniform structure and a host of useless real life practical features. I think someone said it best "HTC is quietly brilliant while Samsung is boisterously ignorant"

I don't agree with this at all, sorry. My biggest gripe with HTC is how they leave completely ignore owners after a few months. It took forever to get JB on the One X. To top it off, they come out with a One X+ about 6 months after the One X came out? That's ridiculous.

And Touchwiz is pretty damn uniform. Just because it doesn't have beautiful graphics on every page doesn't mean it isn't uniform or refined. (Yes, I do love how Sense looks, just not how it performs)

In the widget drawer ... Maybe software isn't final but given this must be in production now for release at the end of April one must assume the software must be near enough finished... So :(

Widget drawer, notification pull down (pretty intense task), and hitting buttons.

Would bet it still lags on production models enough to annoy me. Watching the video made me cringe almost as much as watching the presentation after spending time with Windows Phone and iPhone 5.

I would hope for better with Chrome OS, but as seen with the Pixel, even a core i5 cant save that so far.

Pentile display is basically the reason why I won't even consider it. No matter how good the phone may be spec wise. Such an awful display. Maybe the increased PPI will make it a little better but probably not by a lot.

Seriously. The pentile stuff makes no difference whatsoever, it's a moot point and something only brought up by people who are picking at straws.

Maybe it'll be different on a full hd display but it was one of the reasons I held off purchasing an S3 and finally bought a Note II because of its non pentile display.

I can see the way different color levels on the pentile displays. That said im clearly sensitive to that kind of variation with my poor eyesight.

Maybe not a day one preorder for me. I'll have to play with one in the flesh first before I decide.

Talk about poor QC. Look at the pic from CNET. Dent on the left. Gap between the back plate and phone on right side.

Samsung was notorious for your exact gripe with HTC. I owned the very first Samsung Android phone, the Behold 2 and they left us hanging in the dust with initial promises of eclair (hell we barely even got donut) when in all actuality they knew the hardware could not support it.

I remember when touchwiz was just a tacky little side drawer instead of the norm at the bottom because they always thought they were innovating. I remember when they introduced the failed 3d cube media hub which was more of a gimmick than having any actual real usage.

I say all this because they are notorious for dazzling you with gimmicks but when it comes down to it, it's just eye fodder on top of an uninspired UI. So uninspiring that it' nearly identical to their failed Bada experiment and already doomed Tizen.

Sense might have their shortcomings in the battery department but it's a full fledged UI wrapped in superior hardware. Something Samsung always skimps on.

You do realise it's a removable backplate? Not fitting it back correctly isn't something that can't happen.
