I know, but I would feel instantly outdated. I expect the new n7 to launch not soon after the I/O, so in a little over a month the nexus 4 will have it. KLP will be on the current nexus phones before a new nexus phone is released.
KLP wont bring all the new software Samsung have already packed into the S4, and by the time Samsung have gotten there hands on KLP, and Touchwizz'd it - it wont bare any semblance to KLP and look near identical to Touchwiz on the S4 as is.
I think way too much over-emphasis is put on the newest version of Android, when it automatically discounts every major enhancement or refinement a manufacturer has made to the OS the device i shipping with.
HTC One is flying, no lag and really good battery life, and yet ships with 4.1.2 The first thing people do is complain its not 4.2.2, but this discounts all the tweaks HTC has made in 4.1.2 that vanilla stock 4.2.2 doesn't have. The device is exceptionally fast and has no problems because of a lack of 4.2.2 so what is the big deal?
Likewise so what the S4 comes out with 4.2.1 (from the about info already shown) and not 4.2.2 so does that make it redundant or useless? So what if KLP is announced in a few weeks time. Focussing on a raw software update neglects all the extra features Samsung have added to the device, all the smart features and tweaks to radically enhance vanilla android for its consumers.
A simple OS update doesn't make all those enhancements less impressive.
It always seems to me that there is a mentality in the Android community that the 'Grass is Always Greener' when often it simply isn't, and there are as many bugs and issues in the latest version of OS software that take another software or two update to rectify anyway.
So often its not beneficial to have the latest and greatest android revision, just as long as the version you currently have supports all the latest enhancements from your manufacturer what more do you want.....
