Can anyone with experience of iOS iMessage AND any recent droid encounters tell me about the group messaging aspect? I've heard mixed things and I have group messages going daily

Hopefully official reviews coming soon ?

I am curious if Samsung finally added "Group texting" in Touchwiz ? Right now only stock vanilla Android 4.2 offers group texting, where you can text like 3 friends, and have a conversation in one text thread together. I use that a lot with family and friends.

Otherwise have to use a 3rd party app, like GO SMS, or Handcent, which I hate. I prefer to use the stock phone text app, always smoother and faster, but Touchwiz didn't do "Group texting" in the Note 2 and Galaxy S3 I tried last year. Hopefully since the S4 is based off Android 4.2, which has it stock, that Samsung made it default too ?

Well I just checked and I can group text on my stock messaging app on my note 2. I am pretty that is not longer an issue.

Can you hold the entire conversation in one thread ? So you send it to 3 friends, and all 3 friends reply in the same thread, not coming in separately by each sender, but where everyone can see and read the whole conversation together ?

When I had the Note 2 last year, it could not do that with the stock text app.

Yea it works for me. Maybe it was the 4.1.2 that made it work.

So the ATT preorders started today, but they only have the 16GB versions available. The rep I spoke to said there is no ETA on when the 32GB will be available.

Also, just as a side note- my contract is up on May 7th. If I ordered today, the website says my phone would arrive "on or around May 3rd" and ATT wasn't willing to move my upgrade availability up. Since I wouldn't be activating the phone until probably May 3rd at the earliest we're talking about a four day difference. Pretty weird they wouldn't move it up- it's not like I would pay full price for the phone rather than waiting four days to get it cheaper. Maybe they think some people would. Doesn't matter anyway since I'm not interested in the 16GB, I'll wait for the 32's.

I wonder if a different carrier will get the 32's and 64's first?

don't need anything higher than 16GB with the SD card slot being available

Unless you have a decent amount of large apps--the more robust games can chew through that storage pretty quickly. In it's stock configuration my AT&T Note 2 starts with only 10.97GB of the 16GB available so anyone that plans to use these larger apps my want to wait for the 32GB configuration.

Otherwise, I'd tend to agree with you.

AT&T says S4 goes for $639.99 off contract.

Is that accurate?

I'm looking to sell my current phone, and buy an S4.
I didn't know it would cost this much. I thought it was around $550...
