My question would be....how did you play around with one? Are they our someplace already?

I would try another rep, i've had great service with AT&T, moving upgrade dates up and such.
$639 is...more then I expected. I too am planning on selling my phone once I receive the S4.
What I'm doing is adding a line ($174.99 after "Att Enterprise discount" I get from my employer) So if you receive a discount see what the "add-a line price is online"; the $325 ETF puts it at $499+taxes and possibly part of the first month of service ($30 pro-rated).
I asked the Rep if this was frowned upon or messed up any further perks/upgrades/discounts in the future, was told by multiple reps "no" it was fine to do this. Which I've seen others do it for early upgrades instead of paying $6-700 US Just for a phone. iPhone 5s are going for $475-500 in my local areas craigslist so that will cover the majority of my upgrade/fees
I don't like using (or rather, relying) on the SD card. I don't care what anyone says, all of my experiences have consistently been that stuff simply loads slower off of the SD. Doesn't matter what brand I use. It's ok to store stuff like music and movies and pics, but I want all my apps and settings on the phone itself, and 16 GB isn't going to be enough.
It's really not a big deal, like I said it comes down to literally 4 days. I was just surprised they didn't let me slide. But I am on contract after all, I'm not going to push the issue with them. I am honestly thinking about switching carriers anyway, just do to coverage in my area, so with my contract ending in a few weeks and with the 32GB model in limbo, now is a good time for me to be patient.
And thats what i do. I dont store apps on it but wouldnt be against it here and there. I have a class 10 32GB card and it loads really fast and ive never had a problem with it. I love having the SDCard to put my music and videos on. Id rather play both from it than stream it and use data.

I'm getting the vibe that this preorder is not what Samsung and ATT anticipated.
Samsung's mess up- letting ATT have first dibs (those days are over, we all have too many good options these days)
ATT's mess up- only offering the 16GB model with no knowledge of when the other models will arrive.
Don't get me wrong, I know the S4 is going to crush it once all the carriers have it. But as far as today, one carrier, one model... it leaves a lot to be desired for a lot of people.

Screen lips incredible, looks maybe slightly better than iphone 5,so I expect iphone 5S to up the ante again since apple prides themselves on being number one in screens

It's so nice to have the S4 I pre-ordered today to look forward to, as I'm really disappointed in Apple lately. They are just being Apple, quiet, moving slow, and getting fat off profits from those who buy the logo.
If they wanted to they're capable of so much more. All this talk about a terrific camera is fine for those who value the camera more than the phone. But those of us that want Apple to create a fresh new experience we're only kidding ourselves.

I'm also holding out for the 32gb black S4. I'm wondering if the 32gb will be available for pre order at all?
The rep I spoke with had no idea, which isn't surprising. But I got the impression the 32 would not be available until after the phone was officially released.

I know the phone will be (As I literally said in my post). I'm saying the preorder was kind of a mess since we only had access to one model on one carrier. It's not the iPhone in 2007 anymore.
Since you obviously know more than me about who is getting what and when- when will Verizon have the 32 GB in black? Sometime this week from the sounds of your post.

The S4 does look a lot nicer than the S3. The small aesthetic changes make a big difference, the S3 looks way too soap bar like.
Well I read another article about the note 3 being a completely new direction for Samsung. It was saying they wanted to do metal with the S4, but they could not have gotten it ready for release in April had they made it metal. I think the note 3 could be really awesome. The only thing that I don't like about the rumors are that it could be 6 inches which is to big for me.
