Selling my S4 :) and keeping my iPhone 5.
Laggy OS, worse screen than my iPhone 5, IOS is smarter than Android 4.2.2.
And the S4 is slippery as hell even when using the Samsung Flip-Cover....

You're entitled to your opinion, but:

1. I haven't read a review yet that says the iPhone 5's screen is better than the S4.

2. I have no lag issues on mine.

3. No slipperier than the smooth aluminium of the IP5.

I suspect another case of a user not wanting to commit, so finding reasons to return it.

I compared them side by side and those are facts.
The S4 with a Flip-Case which is not slippery would be too big in my opinion.
The I5 with its Flip-Case fits nicely in MY trousers and MY hand ;).
Android 4.2.2 on the S4 just isn't as smooth as IOS and scrolling in Chrome is laggy when you compare it to the I5.
The screen on the I5 is considerably brighter than the S4 screen and better readable when viewing from the side or in bright sunlight with Auto brightness ON.
That's just my 0.02 and I am happy with my decision.
Have fun with your S4s.
;)

If you like iphone say it, but you don't have to lie!

Some people like paying today's prices for yesterday's technology, if so that's fine.

What made you try the S4 to begin with? Just curious.

The screen on the 5 is too small for me to consider it. Maybe I will look at the 5s.

The screen size is a big reason for me leaving the iPhone 5 for the S4... The screen quailty is clearly better on the S4 too

I'm on a custom ROM with zero Samsung bloat ware. I do use a lot of Google services, but my maps and other Google software barely uses any RAM. I have 232 apps in total and don't think I have ever gone above 1.1GB of RAM used. Below pics are my average.

I also just remembered that Picassa uploader used to constantly try to make a connection to the server, causing phones to lag, due to constant caching. That was early ICS days though. I never use it, so don't know how it is now. Is that something you have looked at?

I've not got picassa syncing uploader on, must look at a custom rom if i keep the S4. Just need to get courage to do it.

Since factory restore last night no more 'touchwiz has stopped working' error. I can only assume somthing had got funked up.

Got my Steinheil Glas.T slim screen protector today. It also comes with a rear protector too, so I might go naked. However my Spigen SGP Slim matte case also arrives so I have both on now. Ultra protection :)

Of course I like the iPhone 5 more. Otherwise I hadn't sold my Galaxy S4 1 hour ago :p. No need to lie, just facts...it's that simple. iPhone is simply better and faster for my needs.
When you compare them side by side you will understand what I wrote above.

I like to test new gadgets. Had the Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia 808 Pureview and now the Galaxy S4.
The I5 screen and brightness is just perfect for me - didn't have any benefit of the S4 screen.
IOS doesn't need a quadcore processor and 2GB RAM and still is superior when operating the OS when it comes to performance and "smoothness" (no lags in IOS).

The iPhone 5 is a lovely device. I wish they would release a 4.7 - 5" iPhone this year with a 13mp camera. I'd be all over it like a rash.

No they will not "understand." Plenty of others have compared the two and have said the S4 is better--in their opinion.

I think the problem with your posts is that you are using the word "fact" when it should be "in my opinion."

Opinions are fine. Opinions stated as facts? Not so much.

A bigger sensor (less noise in low light) + OIS (optical image stabilization) would be better instead of more megapixels.
And STEREO mics like the ones in the Nokia 808 with a sound pressure level up to 140dB would make my "dream-Iphone" :p. I like to shoot lotsa video...

My impression, is my opinion and if I compare the two phones side by side and see with my own eyes what I wrote above, it's a fact for me.
I also read some reviews where they talk about lags in 4.2.2 on the S4.
I believe what I see and not what other reviewers write in rushed out reviews to be the 1st one on the net.
Enjoy your gadgets no matter what brand they are.

I agree! I would be all over it like white on rice....unless it is brown rice....then well you get it...

Surely why not both the extra pixels & better sensor + OIS ? ;)

The camera on the S4 is very good. And I don't mind the size of the device at all, putting the iPhone 5 with a case on top of the S4 the difference isnt that much size wise.

Therefore I would actually like an iPhone with that bigger screen.

LOL.. yeah exactly :D:)

Though it looks like were going to have to wait for iphone 6 for this :(

Unless Apple really have doubled down on security finally and announce this..... I'd be like

In a perfect world Apple would release a larger screen iphone this year.....but like you said maybe iphone 6 in 2014. In the meantime....loving my GS4!

After using the S4 for a week, I'm having a blast learning all the new features for Android. I do however miss the smoothness of iOS and the music app with in the phone. Other than that this phone rocks my socks!

Wishing I would have gone with 64GB micro sd I didnt expect Samsung to give us 9GB usable :\

HTC could have built in a greatly superior camera for both high and low light situations - an 8 MP ultrapixel sensor. However, the phone would not look the way it does now at the rear. It would have a bulge - think Nokia 808 Pureview.

I would still go for that but for many/most people they would say it looked ugly.

I wouldn't mind the bulge for a quality 1,2"(nokia 808) or 1" sensor.
If the Nokia 808 had OIS I would rush out the get one immmediately but the videos are really shaky without OIS. The Lumia 920 has OIS but mono-mics without any high frequency pickup...and a camera with ultra processed jpegs resulting in blurry details....even with firmware 1308..the one after Portico (firmware 1249).

True... I dont mind a nice bulge myself :D

Descisions descions...

To my surprise a replacement HTC One has just this very minute been delivered by courier !! They told me 14 days. It was actually 6.......

Now I have to decide which phone I prefer, and which I can personally deal with on a day to day basis.

The 13mp camera is holding me on the S4

Sense 5 and general aesthetics and uniformity of GUI design is swaying me towards the HTC One.

I am utterly torn at this moment. No matter which I choose I am going to be making compromises. I just have to work out which compromise is more important to me.

Tip: A bundled pair of socks works well. :)

Never needed to do so. I have the reverse problem. :) There is a reason I drive a Fiat Punto and not a sports car :D:D:D:D

Is that 6 days from mailing off by courier to receiving it? You are in Ireland of course and perhaps the setup with HTC is better than here in Canada. Very heartening quick turn-around.

What is your software version? Forget the 1.29 bit which I assume it has but what are the last couple of digits compared to the model you had beforehand?

You simply are not going to get the same quality high light level photos with the One as you can get with the S4, irrespective of software updates to the One. Living in a rural area which looks quite beautiful I can see the attraction of the S4 camera (although obviously you get a lot of grey skies where you are). If you were a city dweller I fancy you would have quite possibly more use for the low light capabilities of the One.

It was my Carrier that replaced it, not HTC themselves. Hence quick turn-around (still faster than they actually said it was) and yep 6 days from Friday last when I sent it off in the post for return.

Last digits are 106.11 on this from the outset - which is what the updated software was on the last model.

The other thing swinging me towards the HTC One is battery life. Despite having most stuff turned off on the S4 I find it definitely is consuming more battery than the One did during my time with it. At the end of the day I'm getting down to 20% on the S4, on the HTC One I'd be down to around 50%. Not sure why this is - but it is.

I am going to try Nova, I had used other launchers elsewhere but not this one. I will see if I like it.

I installed JB keyboard 4.2 but do not know how to enable it. Help! :)

Go into settings / my device / language and input / and tick the JB keyboard, and in default - change that to JB keyboard. :)
