Too bad there's no 15 minute refund window in up the iTunes Store.

Dont need it, you can return an app or music track or book or movie simple enough.

Just go into iTunes, account info, purchases and simply look at your purchase history, click on report problem / return item and you can fill out details. Simply ask for it to be returned and 99.99% of time they will refund your purchase.

I've returned apps and things downloaded that were pants or didnt do what they said on the tin and Apple have always refunded me without question. And a lot longer than the 15 minute window google give.

How does the one win in storage when the most you can get on the phone is 64gb while the s4 the most is 128gb?

128gb max > 64gb maxx

Because the One at 32GB can hold more apps than the S4 16Gb with a 64-128 GB microSD card.

Jellybean doesn't allow apps to be run off microSD making extra storage for applications redundant.

I just picked up a 32 GB from ATT today. This is my first Android phone, although I am familiar with Android via a Nexus 7.

I've only had it a few hours. My initial impressions...

Pros;
-The Screen is great. Both in terms of size and the display itself, it's a beautiful display,
-The Camera is nicer than I expected. Not as nice as my Lumia 920 (not even close) but very, very great for a phone camera and exceeding my expectations.
-IT'S SO LIGHT. I really am not one to care about how thick or heavy a phone is. I think the 920 is great, where as a lot of people complained about it's size and weight. But the S4 is amazingly lightweight, it's pretty impressive.
-LED light. My god... I haven't had an LEF notification light since my blackberry days, say 2005, and I really did miss it. I know it's not for everyone, and to be honest I had forgotten the Galaxy's even had it. But now that I have one again I am very glad.
-Touchwiz is not as bad as I would have thought. I hear a lot of complaints about it, especially on here, but so far I don't see what the fuss is.
-So far I think a lot of the gimmicky features are actually pretty cool! I know I'll never use them all, but some of them are great and will be used often.

Cons; (I am extremely open minded, as I just bought the device, so these will likely change over time)
-Build quality is well below what I expected. Especially for the price. When I go to remove the battery cover I feel like the Incredible Hulk petting a kitten. Disaster imminent.
-Lag... Yes I am noticing lag. Compared to iOS and WP8, so far this is the most lag I have experienced on a modern phone- but it's really not that bad, and nowhere near as dramatic as some of the reviews I've read. Still, for a $250 on contract price, I am a little disappointed there is any lag at all.
-NFC for payments... I know this isn't really the phone's fault, but I think it would be cool if I could use the phone at vending machines and stuff and as of right now I can't (I believe this is an ATT thing)

I plan to keep this phone for the duration, at least until the Note 3 or iPhone 5S, or maybe even beyond depending on how those two look this year.

Cool phone, so far I am pretty smitten and I am having fun getting everything set up. I love having serious access to all my Google services, I've been a Gmail user since beta and use Talk, Music, and most of their other services daily.

EDIT- Does the S4 give you more storage when you sign in to dropbox? I know the S3 gave 50 GB or so, and I heard the S4 might but I don't seem to have gotten it.

Unless you use a custom rom....plus that is little mis-leading. If i have 8GB of music and 8 GB of movies....welll the HTC One will get filled fast this way. The GS4 with 128GB microSD card....well i think everyone gets the picture. Over time most of us fill our phones with pictures....music...home videos and movies and yes...apps too.
Plus....you can get a 32GB GS4 as of today.......

I was forced to exchange my S4 today for a new one. (this is/was my first ever Android device.)

Had some software bugs that caused strange issues with photo/video playback. AT&T swapped it out, no questions. Though I was hoping for a 32GB, all they had were black ones. I passed. The new one seems just fine.

It works for me on the stock e mail but not G mail.

My experience as well. Air view works so good on the email app that it became annoying. Wish there was a sensitivity settings. In the photo gallery it's not as sensitive, which works perfect for me.

I don't have the phone so I can't say for sure but on gsmarena.com it does mention you get 50GB.

I would think so--I got it with my Note 2. I don't see why they wouldn't continue, after-all it is not permanent. I would think DP hopes you will be too ingrained in using it that you will pay when it expires.

That said I got 50GB from my Nexus 4 from Box and that doesn't appear to expire.

I heard it did, but I never received it. Maybe you have to turn on automatic photo upload? I dunno.

I assumed you would have to turn on the auto upload for pics, and I did that since I was planning on using it anyway. Still nothing though.

I fully agree with MRU, Samsung next step should be polish/optimize touchwiz, i dont think build material is a major problem with this kind of issues.

I think Samsung's next step will be to release a flagship w/ 'better materials.' Even though the GS4 feels great in hand, this is seen as its biggest weakness. If the HTC One is casting any doubts in the GS4, this is where Samsung can strike back in the next revision.

Not only will it be the easiest way to reclaim lost customers, but it will be low risk. Aside from Nokia, no other company makes a flagship device out of polycarbonate. So even if they were to go away from that material, they aren't losing to competitors who are using it. Of course they could botch said device, but they would have to make several miscues, like antenna gate or scuff gate. A 'better build quality' would silence critics b/c Samsung would ultimately offer the most options (replacable battery and SD card slot) w/ the highest quality.

Besides, they operate more efficiently than Apple in that they don't put hardware guys on Touchwiz. So even if Samsung looks into different materials, they won't sacrifice on software, unlike Apple.

What in gods name is destroying my battery? Not doing anything different then usual.... actually have used my phone less today then the rest of the week

Media Server can be related to MicroSD accessing all the time, or YouTube / google music services / widget

You do have a microSD card inserted I take it... Are you using google music or have any music / YouTube widgets. Turn them off.

And then eject the microSD card and see if media server service usage disappears. If it does, you may need to reformat you microSD and put music and stuff back onto it.

Consensus over on XDA is pointing to MicroSD access. The benefits if extra storage now not looking so 'beneficial':(

so having a music widget can hurt battery life? even in the lock screen?

If the music is stored on MicroSD or google music (streamed) even though the widget looks inconspicuous in itself, you must remember it still means the application is running in the background (in order for the widget to function - the app the widget is for must be running/accessible) and therefore if the app is accessing music from either of those sources then media server background task will be active - regardless of whether your listening to the music or not.

However not all Android OS's are created equal and it seems according to XDA the media server issue is pointing to MicroSD access for the majority of users with the problem. It also appears to be more Touchwiz based as S3 & Note 2 users have all reported similar background service running in background.

Also....

It also doesn't have to be music, if you have your phones camera photos or wallpapers saved on the MicroSD and you have one of those wallpapers / camera photos setup as your desktop / lock screen wallpaper then you will see this accessing if Media Server too as it basically is constantly accessing the MicroSD to display the wallpaper....

Like I say best way to see if it is the MicroSD accessing that is your own Media Server background task user - is to remove the microSD, if usage drops then there is the culprit.

And if it is the culprit and you want to stop the continuous access of Media Server, either turn off music widget, and move any photo you want as desktop wallpapers to the on-board storage, so that the phone doesn't need to continuously access the MicroSD.

I think some people have to come to terms with the reality that there is no such thing as a perfect phone that will satisfy everyone.

What's wrong with the S4's polycarbonate case again? It may look cheap and flimsy, but at least it's decent enough.

Samsung, as with all other companies, can't make a product that will please everyone.
