This. My S3 battery was depleting too quickly for my taste the first week, after that battery life was pretty good and I did nothing to change that.
What's wrong with the music app on the Samsung? I agree that the HTC One is a better device but I don't have any issues with the music app.

It's just not a very good app. The whole layout of it is poor. It feels very gingerbread..... i.e. not updated for years.
Also why is there actually 'two' music apps. One that is only accessible via one of the two different music widgets (not google music) music - samsung music ? Just makes no sense...
Both apps slightly different - both are far from great. It does the job - but not with any style or flair.
So, Amber Alerts work just fine on this phone, found that out about 5 minutes ago when it nearly scared the crap outta me, lol.

Guys how do I make a "complete" backup of my GS4?
My particular handset, as fond of it as I am, will be going back to my carrier and my account with them will be closed.
I'll pick up another S4 in the next couple of weeks from my old carrier which while not being 4G (yet) had great general reception and a rock solid 3G network.
I miss being able to take phone calls in my house

Without rooting, I do not think there is a way.
Why when you let the battery drain to dead when you charge it again you can't access the phone when charging? Just has the charging icon with dotting icons?

In Kies, there is an option to back up my SGS3 including apps, messages, video/audio files, settings, contacts, call logs etc etc. See screenshot.
Disclaimer: I have never made a complete backup, only partial backups (SMS, call logs, contacts etc) so I don't know how well the complete backup works.

Do you happen to have light flow? For some reason light flow does not work well with touch whiz and android 4.2.2. I had to turn off accessibility on light flow to stop the woman from talking

I just uninstalled light flow, that fixed it, I am not that fussed with light flow TBH, but, my thinking was that if it was messing that part up, then what else unseen was it messing with?

Only thing is light flow seems to wake the screen up when I get notifications..
Just received my S4, been playing with it for about 3 hours now. So glad I didn't listen to all the negative reviews. Experienced no lag so far and it's noticeably faster than my S3. Screen on max setting is twice as bright as the S3 on max setting. Every feature also works as advertised. I haven't tried screen mirroring yet.
