Totally agree. It's just different from other phones. Looks like I'm going to have to save me beer money to get one. :)

The best thing about the edge, from my personal usage, is the fact that the screen is so immersive. It makes you completely forget that there are top and bottom bezels and just draws you into whatever's happening on your screen. It truly feels like you're using and looking at nothing but the screen. Think sort of like a gorgeous wide screen television.

And the fact that there's more of the screen to reach for really helps sell this immersive feeling. This goes beyond just being bezel-less.

Oh god it was as bad as I feared.

Vodafone Ireland confirmed that the Subsidised price of theS6 Edge 64gb is €499 ($550) on my current €40p/m 24 month contract

Ouch. €50 more than I paid for my Note 4 off contract...

Since preorders start Friday in the US, there has to be a price finalized by then. They wouldn't expect one to preorder without knowing that, would they? :)

It could be the best running smartphone of all time and I still would not buy it given that price. The Motos are the best bang for the buck and run great.

I love my Moto X 2014 :) Other than my storage space issues (i should have bought the 32gb version) its been a very solid & stable device even on lollipop. :)

You better not check EE in the UK. It goes for £9.99 for the S6 and £29.99 for the Edge.

They could give an 'indication' and offer you to cancel if the final price is too expensive e for you. Or exaggerate on price like Amazon and refund at order.

Price has put me off and thinking about it I think i would struggle to go from a 5.7 inch screen to 5.1 anyway

I'm the same. I think I'll just get the note 4. The price of the edge is just too much to justify. It would cost more than my macbook air:eek:

Even to buy out my contract it would cost £600. Plus the upfront cost of the device £99 and that would only be for the 64GB version, not even the 128GB. The note 4 has a bigger screen, which is also 2k, has the S-pen, removable battery and micro SD card slot. I'm lusting after that new 200GB micro SD card too:D The build quality is pretty good too. I was given a wireless charging pad for christmas that I haven't been able to use yet. I could just buy the card, stick it in the back of the phone and use my pad so I'm not missing out on that. The note 4 also has fast charging and an almost identical camera.

Yeah I'm struggling to justify another €500 on contract and using up my upgrade (especially as theres always something just around the corner - and likely cheaper).

Plus it's looking like only White or Black edge here - and I really if was going to go out on a major whim - go for the Emerald Green.

Might have to have a rethink about this one myself ..... it's whether I can resist temptation and as you all know - that's not a strong point of mine.

The world needs you to get this device. And you know it.

Note 4 is the right choice and everybody knows it. In my country I can get the note 4 for 520€ and the s6 edge costs 899. Both 32gb versions.
Anyone buying the edge in full price now is just an idiot. End of story.

If the edge is a trend that sticks and is popular you can bet we will see other phone makers jump on it. Hopefully Xiaomi expands where it sells phones and we can stop worrying about price someday.

I'm not personally impressed with the S6 edge over the note 4 though, just the lack of digitizer/stylus alone is a HUGE downgrade for me. As much as I think the edge thing is cool, I still see it as a gimmick with no real useful purpose.

I actually saw the S6 and S6 edge today when I went to the Samsung store to get my note 4. Visually they are stunning. They look better than the iphone 6/plus imo. I also saw the M9 on display in a carrier store. Its still very good looking but I think that the 6/6 edge is knocking at its door for best smartphone design. They look even better in real life and feel good in the hand. I was able to see the white, gold and black. They didn't have the green or blue. I thought the gold looked best but they were all nice. The edge looks the better of the two, however the curved edges made it a bit awkward when using the touch screen. I'm sure it's something you would get used to but it didn't feel as smooth swiping about because your finger hits the edge and it felt like it was going to fall off the edge lol

I also noticed the input issues at the edges that Erica Griffin pointed out in her video. It didn't always register and sometimes there was a delay or it felt like you had to press harder.

I had a look at the note edge whilst I was there too. I played about with it but didn't really see much use for the edge screen. It felt a bit gimmicky.

All in all I think the note 4 was the better buy for me. The 6/edge would have been too small in the end.

Thanks for the info. This is my biggest fear. After having the Note 4 and 6+ they S6 will feel too small for me. I will play around with them at BB tomorrow when they are on display here in the US. If they are too small then i will wait for the Note 5!

I'm betting the S6 Edge demand exceeds all expectations by a very big margin. Everyone I know, and I mean EVERYONE, that has looked at the demos has gone away saying they will be getting the Edge hands down. In fact Samsung is said to be ramping up production on the S6 Edge because increased demand by partners. We shall see...
