Still have heard nothing myself from Vodafone .. Supposed to be here Friday but not holding my breath.

I can only hope I'll be getting mine this month lol. Only just noticed that the Amazon item (green 128GB) is fullfilt by Amazon but sold by Samsung and there is a note that the release date is an estimate as it is just taken from the Samsung website. So assume the phone is released on the 10th, it probably takes a while to find its way to Amazon, then it again needs to find its way from Germany to me in the UK.

Ah well, it'll get here. At least it is advertised on Samsung.de so its not just a random trader thinking the green one will be released.

I'm trying to decide whether I should keep mine. I rang them today as I found out they will now have white and gold model (when they rang me on April 2nd they said they would only carry the black).

I'd prefer white ideally (well no - ideally I'd want green) - so spoke to vodafone today and they told me as it's now on it's way to me - I would have to 'not accept' it from the Courier and they would then send me out either white or gold once the black had returned.

But I just can't decide if that hassle is worth it just to go from black to white.

First world problems and all that....

I ordered the white but wanted the black. But it seemed to be a fingerprint magnet. BUT if you are going to skin it then it won't matter! :)

I really wanted the gold/platinum. It looks so nice from the front. But it tooooo shiny from the back.

Yeah the gold does look nice from the video's I've seen (at least from the front)....

Arghh see my issue is impulse control. When the courier arrives do I have the self control to return it - or the impulse desire to tear open that packaging and play with my new toy ?

I have to think about it because I suspect this will be the only other android phone (outside of stock android phones) that I'll buy for some conceivable time (6-12 months) due to it's cost, and something as seemingly asinine as colour preference could really niggle me after a month or two.

Gonna take a lot of willpower to not open that shiny new toy......

I messed around with an Edge at TMobile yesterday. They had one out by the register.
Nice looking phone. OK feeling in the hand. Really nice screen.
I asked them what it does differently from the regular S6 to justify the extra $100 and he replied "It looks cool".... Which does nothing for me. Then he named of a few things that I already knew but was hoping for something more that wasn't mentioned.
I'm going to get the regular GS 6 instead.

I wouldn't base my decision on some money in a shop. Make sure you check the differences online as well.

I have seen what more the Edge can do from reviews and video and it isnt much. I dont much care about flashing different colors on the side when faced down or a clock on the side on the edge. For $100 more, that isnt something that entices me and the looks are nice but it think the regular GS6 looks nice too with a lower price tag.

Im not knocking the device at all, it does look cool but for me it just doesnt justify the extra cost.

Most guys in shops are clueless.

Always depend on youtube for stuff like this.

I've said this a few times before and I'll say it again. I think the Edge's real advantage is just purely in using the screen. All those extra semi-gimmicky features are interesting, but won't really add day to day value to the user. At least not right away. Not until developers take full advantage of it in apps (it'll be pretty interesting to see what devs do with it).

But the screen itself is the real winner. The way it's truly bezel-less, and then some. The way one interacts with the side-pull out menus. The way the screen immerses you into your phone's content. The way the screen seems to "pop" almost off your device. That's where the money is.

Now, whether that's worth the premium pricing is up to each individual person. But that's what I took away with my experience of the Edge.

PS. I'm getting the standard S6 as well. ;)

Yeah the risk is sending the black back, then waiting for them to process the return then order the white or gold. There's a chance that in the 4-5 days that all will take the white or gold could the be out of stock as there is only a limited quantity of edge in stock.

Could end up being a total PITA

Got mine about an hour ago. Setting everything up the way i like it so far/ Installing all my apps and letting it do all kinds of updates.

First impressions:

Great feel and impressive in the hand. Very balanced and blazing fast.
Pros so far
Very fast phone
Fingerprint scanner is the same as TouchID
Screen is so immersive with the curved glass

Cons
Carrier bloat.
Can disable it and some I could uninstall
Phone got a little warm will restoring apps from Google backup

I will post more info after i get it setup!

I have yet to see one in person, but in pics the bezel is quite apparent on the sides even with the curved edges. Now this is me looking at a 2 dimensional picture, it may look much better in person. At least in pictures something like the sharp aquos crystal looks to truly have no bezels versus the edge.

How's the screen? Any trace of the scratches in bright light such as direct sunlight / led lamp ?

Folks are still reporting the issue over on XDA, so its no longer a T-Mobile only thing. Hope you got a good one.

Has anyone read the pre-scratched screen articles?

http://www.xda-developers.com/is-your-galaxy-s6-edge-pre-scratched/

Hope to god mine doesn't come pre-scratched otherwise it will be sent straight back - but it could be a troubling development.

Certainly one we Edge buyers will soon find out if it is really widespread or just bad luck for those folks who got it early. Surprised this includes Erica Griffin.... Ouch

yeah i can't see them, i can see the bloatware though...
