I do find screen bit hard to see in outdoor sunlight. Oh and black is definitely a fingerprint magnet but will be getting a spigen case for it later in the afternoon.
Have you tested the fingerprint scanner yet?

Yep its works good for me. I did scan my main thumb twice (like it was two fingers) so that it's covered from every perceivable angle.

But it's working 99% of the time - with just occasional time needed to do it couple of times before unlocking.

Damn it..I'm tempted

Gold looks awesome

Don't upset Mrs Doyle now .... ;)

Awesome. So happy for you both, Jmerz and MRU. Keep providing feedback.

Maybe too early, but tell us about that battery life...!

Battery life looks promising. But it is too early to tell yet. It won't get what my N4 does but I don't expect it too.
But fast charging is awesome. Fresh out of the box mine had 50% battery life. That drained quickly while I set it up and restored apps. But plugging it with the Samsung charger brought it back quickly.

Ditto. Mine was at 53% out of box. Dropped to 20% after installing updates and apps. Charged to full in 50 minutes.l on fast charge.

Haven't a clue how battery life is yet either. Need a few more days with it.

Anybody else get a 268.02mb software update ?

edit..

Few issues already. some widgets like Google Music no longer resize correctly. At 4X1 they are broken.

Looks like I'm going to have to go to Google Now launcher or Nova Prime.

Its what i do everytime. Dont like TW Launcher and dont like Google Now Launcher.

Already using Nova prime as well. Its just that good.
Impressed with the speakers on the edge. They sound like loud and crisp. the included earphones are not bad either!

I may go today...or tomorrow and get the standard GS6....64 GB version, maybe.
I still have 11 GB left on my Nexus 5(out of 32GB) but i read yesterday that the 32 GB version of the GS6 leaves you with 25.2 usable space out of the box. N5 was 26.76 out of the box.

Sad to hear its another Samsung device that is memory hungry as all the others thus far.

I look forward to your continued feedback to see if that changes with more normal use or when you really start to optimize how your set up is.

It's a beautiful device though!

What would lead you to that conclusion? Not sure what you mean but the S6 is every bit as fast and responsive and my N4 and 6+

It is indeed very fast, but i find after i've opened five or six apps and start cycling back between them mine will start refreshing content which is particularly annoying with tapatalk. I only have 4 apps open at the moment and i'm upto 85% memory used and tapatalk refreshed when I clicked on it.

Thankfully the sheer speediness of the phone means even when refreshing its only a second or two - but its annoying when i leave tapatalk with half a post written - go to find a link or upload a file to dropbox and get the sharing link, come back to tapatalk and its refreshed and gone back to welcome screen.

It is a blazingly fast device - but it is still heavy on ram.

This is what I mean. I have heard this consistent message a couple times already here and among some others on forums that also got the new S6 lines.

I am in no way saying it is a terrible device or if this even proves anything but when everyday use gets out besides the very early reviews on YouTube it stays consistent with some of the problems some of the Samsung phone lines have had with their OS.

Put the pitchforks and torches away.

no pitchforks here....but you made that statement before MRU's reply to my question to you. So I wondered what you were basing your assumptions on.
So we have two different camps here and two different trains of thought.
One is unused ram is wasted ram...a resource that is not being used is wasted.

One camp that says it is using too much ram and it causes refreshes and redraws.
So my personal experience with this is......... my N4 and S6E are very fast and responsive and I have not noticed any redraws.
I have no problem with the device using every system resource available if it enhances the end user experience.

Watch my video here.

Only few apps open and Tapatalk can't keep itself in memory and refreshes back to the main menu - even google play music refreshes the album art and current selected album.
