Anyone hear any mention of multi window apps on the edge plus? I'd be really disappointed if the software was just blown up from the regular S6 edge and they didn't add any phablet features like multi window.

They added the 'apps edge' part alongside people edge for quick launching apps. Other than that it's essentially the same - though that is rumoured to be coming to existing edge users via a software update.

In fairness things like multi window will work better on a bigger device - and there was nothing specifically wrong with the S6 Edge software (outside of perhaps optimisation) that even on a bigger form factor it should provide a good set of features / differences over other big screen phablets.

Doesn’t appear so and from the sounds they still havn’t took advantage of the edge screen at all. Guess we will see in more hands on videos but it just seems like a bigger S6 edge. Even has the same battery.

No it is bigger (400mAh) however we do not know at this stage of extra real estate is more power hungry.

Best case scenario if it is around same power usage will see a 20% improvement. Worse case scenario it will be around the same. I imagine the inevitable truth will be more akin to perhaps a 10% improvement over the S6 Edge.

The regular S6 had multi window so I expect that the s6 edge plus will have it too.

Multi windows works great on my Note 4. Did the S6 edge software have anything in particular in terms of phablet use that any other phone doesn't have? I truly don't know as I haven't owned one.

Not really other than the 'edge' features (night clock, edge lighting, people edge etc..) it was much the same as every other Samsung flagship with multi-window support (even my Alpha has multi-window on its 4.7" screen)

It's really the design aesthetics that set it apart to be honest.

I didn't realize multi window was on more than the Note 4. That works for me, I was worried about not having it. The new edge features sound decent as well.

Samsung is relying on this device for improved sales. However their prices have already ensured that this isnt going to happen.

The question now is will they include promotional offers in all regions and how good these offers are. A free £200 headphone and some discount from the carriers might help. Without any promotional offers it depends on how far the carriers with discount the device.

Anyone who owns Samsung shares should short them right now.

Personally messed with both the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ via a Samsung rep who came to my store since I work for a major wireless carrier. Both devices were actually excellent, but I was genuinely impressed with the Edge Plus. I think it has to do with the fact that it is a media consumption device and I currently have a 6 Plus. The screen absolutely looks gorgeous and this is a phone that Samsung got right.

I have to applaud Apple though because because of their marketing and how heavily engrained I am into their ecosystem (rMBP, iPad Air 2 64GB LTE, Apple TV, and 6 Plus 64GB) it's hard to have the main driving factor, the iPhone, missing from the puzzle. Also simply just not interested in 3rd party apps that try to substitute an android for an iPhone in the ecosystem. So I have literally bought into Apple and it wouldn't be to my best overall interest to carry a Edge Plus as my daily driver.

Definitely am happy with my 6 Plus overall but the nerd in me always gets excited and curious with new tech. Doesn't hurt to look.

No doubt, I will look forward to having a long look at the S6 edge plus just to see what it’s like but i certainly won’t be buying it. As I have the S6 edge i’m interested just look at it side by side with mine.

I will always keep my S6 edge I have decided and it will be by back-up phone going forward that will keep me going when I sell my main device each year to fund the phone i will buy each year.

I played with one at the store. Pretty sure I'll be getting one upgrade from Note 4. The Note 5 didn't appeal to me much, actually. Not much different than the Note 4. S6 edge+ was cool. Didn't care for the gold color but that'll probably be my next phone in a week or so!

Tough decision deciding between the two but I'm always noting something or an idea down so gotta have the pen. May end up getting one of each.

I played with the Edge plus and the Note 5 earlier at Best Buy. The Edge is very beautiful, but the Note feels much better in the hand. Both a very nice though.

I am staying away from Best Buy or carriers on purpose to not check out the Samsungs, that is until the Pure hits BB and then I will take a look at them all and do some pondering. :)
