Galaxy S6 edge+ battery life benchmark results show better performance than the Note5

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Gala...how-better-performance-than-the-Note5_id72736

I think we will have to wait for proper end user realistic battery life results after a few weeks. Those results look awesome but are no way reflective of the battery life I get or indicative of the their ranking.

I have 3 of those devices with me right now on that test results - the iPhone 6 plus, Z3, and Nexus 6 - and in my real world usage the 6 plus is the best battery wise, followed by the nexus 6, followed by my Z3 ... which is contrary (polar opposite) of what that benchmark result is supposed to be.

But taken as an early indication it is positive :)

If I get this phone I'll have to get it on contract. I'm not paying £829 for a phone. That's more than I paid for my MacBook Air

Yeah I assume that's the reason Germany doesn't have the 64gb version. Without the special offer / launch price of 799 euro down from what it will be €869 for the 32gb, it'll mean the 64gb would be priced closer to €1000 or more.

In fact ... As Ireland price is based on UK pricing

830 British Pound equals €1167.11 Euro and that's with UK cheaper vat rate of 17.5%. Ireland it's 23% meaning for me a 64gb when released or if released here would be over €1200 !!!!

Because of that I doubt 64gb will be Ireland at all.

Samsung need to fire the people with these pricing..this Is Why the sales stink

Expansys here have the 32gb for pre-order at €899 !!

They don't have the 64gb ... I suspect many parts of Europe won't see the 64gb due to it pushing over that 1k barrier.

Would have been tempted to upgrade but even if I got €600 for my 64gb id be looking at an additional €300-500 depending on 32/64... Given I can pick up an additional handset like the LG G4 for €449 and have something extra (another device and keep my current edge) it's unlikely I could justify spending that for the 1gb extra ram

I mean you can practically buy a MacBook for that price
You can buy a new MacBook Air for that price. The 11 inch MacBook Air 2015 with 128GB internal storage and 4GB ram with a fifth generation i5 chip costs only £749. So that's £70 cheaper than this 64GB S6 edge plus.

So in fact the 32GB edge plus is the same price as the base model MacBook Air. I know which one I would buy

Ok UK folks.

Clove.co.uk have the 32gb for £600 and 64gb for £680.

Far better than Samsung - though this could be place holder pricing.

Well that's a lot better but I wonder how long these prices will hold? How can they give that much discount?

I'm tempted at that price to order actually ... Going to see what my S6 Edge is worth if I sold it first. Would need 64gb though as 32gb is only around 24gb user space.

I've got less than 1gb left on my S6 edge

Resale value has fallen through the floor ... :( a device that cost me €949 and I'm looking at €500 to sell it now. There are loads of Ad's for the Edge and hardly anyone making offers. Basically it's untenable for me to sell mine and pay another €400+ to get the plus. I can and will buy a Moto x Style for around that price.

Maybe later in the year when the price of the Edge + tanks I'll reconsider, but now it's just unjustifiable to myself.

The release value of android devices is just rubbish. I can get £410 for my iPhone 6 plus (128GB) which is almost a year old. The note 4 which came out at the same time would only get me £225 and the S6 edge (128 GB) would get me £330 (mazuma). So my nearly 12 month old iPhone 6 plus had a higher resale value than the 6 month old Galaxy S6 edge which cost more than my iPhone 6 plus at launch. That's ridiculous.

This is nothing new. This is also why Android phones should always be bought at significantly less prices than iPhones regardless of Samsungs silly RRP.

Even at £829 for the 64GB edge plus I am looking to pay £450 max (including carrier discount) within the next month. Otherwise it is a no buy.

Yes exactly same here. My 11 month old iPhone 6 plus is worth €100 more now - than my few months old S6 Edge which cost around €100 more to buy than my iPhone 6 plus in the first place !!! :(
