My review so far (less than a full day of ownership):
VERY impressed. Once I got over the removable battery and SD card exclusion, this phone is perfect. I haven't ran the battery down from 100% yet so I can't comment on that. Some differences from the Note 4:
1. Ultra Power Saving mode turns on and off much faster
2. In bright sunlight you can notice the little grid pattern on the SuperAMOLED display. Not too annoying when you realize that getting a replacement isn't going to fix it. Though I think it is more noticeable than on the Note 4.
3. The screen is bright in sunlight but not WOW!!! bright.
4. Performance is fantastic. I actually re-enabled transitions in developer mode because of how quickly they show and it doesn't waste time at 1.0x
5. AT&T came with LOTS of bloat, more than the Note 4. You can disable most of it, though. I also use S Launcher (formerly Galaxy Launcher) to hide some from my drawer that can't be disabled.
6. The screen is amazing! I didn't like the S6 Edge much but the size of the Edge+ is perfect for a curved edge display.
7. The camera is very good, an incremental improvement from the Note 4.
8. The OS display and apps use the same size as the S6 Edge, but with more screen real estate, as opposed to the Note 4 which simply blew everything larger essentially keeping the same proportions. You actually get more space on this device.
9. My favorite Alarm tone is gone, but the new ones are good enough to switch to a new one.
10. Double tap to open camera is FAST
11. Finger print sensor is much improved. It is where it should have been from day one. I registered two finger prints twice and it recognizes it most of the time. Just make sure you put your whole print over the button, and not "just the tip".
12. Reception seems to be the same as before.
13. Call clarity is excellent.
14. The loudspeaker is surprisingly good, better than I expected, and I have no complaints.
15. 32GB should be plenty if I utilize Dropbox. Most of the space on my Note 4 internal storage was being taken for videos.
16. It appears from the settings that UHD video recording does NOT have the new VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization). 1080p does, though. I am unsure about the state of Optical Image Stabilization on these devices.
17. I highly recommend S Launcher if you like TouchWiz but want to customize it way further and it uses the Note 4 stock icons.
18. I also recommend using SwipePad on this device, as the edge display functionality pales in comparison to SwipePad.
19. AT&T box came with headphones.
20. It's not as comfortable to hold as the Note 4 but not uncomfortable overall. Nothing to complain about in that department.
Forgot to add:
21. The black version is actually midnight blue, and doesn't show fingerprints as much as the Platinum Gold. It isn't much of a fingerprint magnet at all when viewing the back from most angles. On certain angles they will show, though. Not an issue for me. The design is nice!
22. The phone is very thin and light. Like, very! My favorite thing about it so far is the design.
23. It doesn't feel like a phablet when you hold it, just like a big smartphone since it is noticeable narrower then the Notes. It isn't much taller than the Note 4, about a millimeter or less.
24. S Health is really cool.
edit 2: Battery life is satisfactory. I'm at 8% with about 11 and a half hours of use time. A little over 3 hours screen in time with it on high brightness most of the time. It says I have about 43 minutes of use left on 8%. So there you have it! The phone is amazing. The best feature is the design which includes the screen and of course the thinness and lightness, followed by performance. I don't miss the S Pen or S apps, though S Note was fun to play/draw with. I'd rather have this much lighter phone though, and a report said that the S6 Edge+ gets better battery life than the Note5 as well. Cheers!
