How did she even do that?
I assume she was browsing Facebook or trying to text while brushing her teeth lol.

She goes through phones like you wouldn't believe. She managed to keep an iPhone 6 for nearly 10 months before she killed it. I've never seen a phone with so many scratches and dents and a nice crack across the top half of the screen.

Does anybody here have a rough idea how much a replacement screen is for a Galaxy S6?

My best mates wife has had hers for just shy of a month and is on the second device in that time. The first she dropped down the toilet while she was brushing her teeth and had it replaced. The second she dropped this afternoon and has smashed the screen. She's contemplating paying for this repair so thought I'd ask here if anybody knew? I have suggested she sell it and buy a rubberised builders phone. Thanks :)

Tell her to get this.

Most likely close to or above $200 for OEM replacement. Lower quality aftermarket, probably $125 and up.

I have been using this phone today and it is really nice, the screen is incredible and I am very impressed by the camera. Being able to double tap home to bring it up is nice and it is fast. I took a sample pic in my living room with low light , only coming though a window and it didnt even fire the flash and got a very good pic. I took the same shot with my Moto G 2014 and it used the flash. I dont put a lock on my phones but I registered my fingerprint, didnt work good at all. Almost every time I had to enter the password because it would fail. I will take some sample pics later and probably take the same shots with my G.

Is the S6 Active an option?

You really have to set up your finger like how you would naturally use it. Most people don't realize that. After that it's 99% reliable in my case.

The iPhone has an advantage because the home button is an innie. That limits the setup and positioning you can place your finger. Which is good for Apple. The Galaxy phones have outie home buttons, which are prone to not making optimized setups for those that don't think about it and register there finger in a position they would never naturally use again.

Well the camera is awesome but I would choose my Moto, the battery is horrible. I haven't even used it to browse at all, have had my sim in it but using my Moto since Chrome is already set up. The battery life is at 29% and has been off the charger since 8 or 9 and has 1h50m sot.

That's unfortunate. Are you getting weak signal?

Mixed good/weak signal
Today is a little better, I have made several calls and browsed on Chrome. I have been off the charger since 730 or so and I am at 77% with 48m sot.

I agree the battery life is only so good.

But I get around it by having a wireless charger at work. Anytime it's not with me, it's down on the charger. The device tops off the battery. There have even been days I leave work with 100% battery life. It's not entirely uncommon.

Might that be an option for you?

Wireless chargers come in a wide range of sizes and prices. Mine were inexpensive. I caught a flash sale or something, and got one of these for $6 bucks. It's now back up to about $25 bucks. Worth it if it can work for you. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VNECQMM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

And there are many other options.

Plus, don't forget the default quick charger the phone comes with can really help top you off, too. If you're able to just plug it in for anywhere between 10-30 mins, it'll give a big boost.

And when push comes to shove, there are also power saving modes that can help get you down that last stretch if need be.

Stuff you all probably already know, but sharing just in case.

Ended up at 6% last night with 3h35m. Quick charging is so nice, I had it on there for 5-10 minutes and it jumped to 25%

I'm disappointed that Samsung touted this device to be 35% more efficient on battery life (thus the ability to have a smaller battery) and with all of the reports of terrible battery life they haven't even acknowledged the issues people are having.

On WiFi only usage, the S6 has lasted longer for me than my S5 did but in reality this only works when I'm home on the weekend. On weekdays I'm in a concrete fortress with a heavily encrypted WiFi network that sucks the battery dry, there is literally nothing I can do to change this, the S5 got slaughtered here and S6 does even worse.

There is also a ton of software bugs that lead to excessive drain, Facebook and Instagram are notorious battery drainers on mobile data on the S6 while they never pop up in the battery usage section on other phones. There's also the stupid Google Play Services drain that rears it ugly head on mobile data. All in all, the S6 isnt bad on battery if you stay tethered to a properly configured WiFi network otherwise it's all luck of the draw.

This is why I choose my iPhone over the s6 on a daily basis. If Samsung/ Android could fix these things there would be no competition on which device I'd use! Android makes it hard to win people over with their constant software quirks and inability to fix seemingly simple issues.

Anybody else get the Wallet update with Android Pay? Got mine last night, but can't use it yet. My bank is listed as coming soon.

Also, anybody else get that Samsung+ update with Samsung Pay app (not active)?

Yep same here. I have no real desire to start using either. Not yet anyway.

Between the GS6 factory unlocked at $430 vs a Note 5 at $590 factory unlocked, which one should I keep? I like the form factor of a smaller Android device and the IR blaster, but I think the battery life on a GS6 Edge was bad in my past experience. The Note 5 was decent battery when I tried it out, it has better specs, a bigger screen, the S-Pen, and more software features. Huge difference is a $160 price tag.

I'm extremely close to selling my S6 Edge and getting a Note 5. I need help. :(

How much is the cost to make the jump? Is it worth it to you personally?

Probably not, that's why I stated I need help. LOL
But then again, the wait until the S7 is pretty long. So I'll be with the Note 5 for that long, or even until the Note 6.

I haven't really factored the difference yet.
