Saw the 6 and edge today. They look really stunning in real life. One of the best smartphone designs on the market imo along with the M9 which I also saw.

The 6 feels really light. Reminds of the S4 which was really light and compact.

Edit: never mind! Sorry. Now they're saying 680 at T-Mobile.

The verge says off contract price of the s6 is $550?

For real?! I'm not sure I believe that.

Got to see a white S6 as I was in an AT&T store in a mall and the Samsung rep was on his way out.

Really nice looking smartphone and I got a peek at some photos he took at a wedding. He really pressed this to demonstrate as the room was dimly lit. He took some snaps at a table which was untouched after it was set up for the wedding. Wow, the detail was outstanding and he thought the camera did a great job mimicking the low whiting of the room.

I checked memory management, there was a bunch of stuff opened. The system was using 1.2 GB and 1GB was free.

That is all I got a chance to do. I am going to stop in some other places and maybe I will get lucky to see an Edge.

overall, so far the phone is kind of underwhelming. for the most part, performance is either around or under the iphone 6.

the screen, while having a higher resolution, is actually worse on the s6 in colour accuracy, greys, and saturation accuracy compared to iphone 6. the only thing the s6 is better at is slightly being brighter.

He didn't say which screen mode he was using for the test. According to DisplayMate, which I trust over anyone else due to the in-depth testing, Basic screen mode on the S6 produces the most accurate color saturation of any phone, including the iPhone 6.

Let Displaymate look at it.

Tmobile S6 Edge:
For the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, the retail prices for the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models are $779.76, $859.83 and $959.83, respectively.

ATT:
Over at AT&T, the carrier has revealed its pricing only for the 32GB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. On the Next 24 plan, the Galaxy S6 is priced at $22.84 a month over 30 months, which works out to a total price of $685.20. The Galaxy S6 edge on is $27.17 a month for 30 months. Our abacus tells us that the total is $815.10. AT&T is giving buyers of both models $50 off the price of a Samsung Gear Circle Bluetooth Stereo headset purchased via AT&T Next.

Not bad... -ish.

And the good news is they'll have all size variants. Now for the colors...! I hear both the blue S6 and the green S6 Edge aren't bound for US, sadly.

I was at the Samsung store in central London today (Oxford street). Even there they didn't have the blue or green so maybe there is some truth to the rumour that they are US only.

Typical biased annandtech review.using Web java benchmarks still after being called out numerous times about using sunspider and what's up with comparing the gs6 to tablets like the nexus 9 and iPad air 2? So it don't smoke the other phones being at the top of the charts?

Where's the 5500 geek bench run? Ohh wait it smokes even the iPad air 2 in that one so they didn't use it.

BGR have done another review - I gave up reading them a long time ago as they were all Apple. They gave a great review - http://bgr.com/2015/03/26/galaxy-s6-review-pt-2-hands-on-impressions/

"Called it the best smartphone in the world. end of story".

Galaxy S6

My skeptiscm on the bloat seems well placed

http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwoOy78yA

Over the past few weeks it has been reported multiple times that Samsung has clamped down on bloatware for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. That doesn’t seem to be the case though. A new report points out that the upcoming smartphones have 50 apps pre-installed, that’s actually six more than the 50 you’ll find on a Galaxy Note 4.

Some of Samsung’s own apps come pre-installed on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, like S-Voice and S-Health. Since the devices run on Android the plethora of Google apps you’ll find on any Android device are present here as well.
Google’s pre-installed apps include Gmail, YouTube, Google+, Google Drive, Play Newsstand, Play Movies, Play Games, Play Music and many others.
Then there are Microsoft apps which make their way to the devices as part of an agreement between Samsung and Redmond. These include OneDrive, Skype and others.
Some social apps like Instagram and WhatsApp come pre-installed as well. Then there are carrier specific apps to consider, T-Mobile will load six of them on its units, and this brings the total number of pre-installed apps to 56.
Granted, like all recent Android OEMs, Samsung will allow users to “disable” pre-installed apps (here’s how delete Android apps), that will just take them out of the app drawer and the homescreen, they won’t be able delete to them to get more space on a device that doesn’t have a micrSD card slot.
That said, Samsung has made significant improvements to TouchWiz which now feels much lighter than before, and this reflects on performance. However it is clear as day now that Samsung’s new flagships don’t really put an end to the bloatware problem as previously expected.

That is a shame indeed, and you were right to suspect it wasn't as good as it sounds.

However, having said that, I still personally do not care very much as long as performance stays top notch. Every review thus far has said it does. I can live with this.

Yeah I'm fine as long as i can have my 9 or 10 apps that I use most often without constant refreshes. The 3gb ram should see to that anyway - so yeah not a deal breaker to me either (after all I knew it was too good to be true).

:)

9 or 10 apps?! I have a couple hundred.

There was 1gb free on the S6 I saw this morning. I was not able to see if apps tefresh, that will be tomorrow at BB. Another post elsewhere I read 750mb were free but I do not know what was opened on that S6.

Those numbers do not thrill me. Time will tell. The bloatware as far as I am concerned is a definite strike
