Fellas, fellas please, MRU was responding to a question of mine and I am grateful that he did, he has given me an understanding of something of which I was unsure. I always find his comments on any phone are without bias.

MRU, I am sorry that your answer has elicited so much anger in your direction, it was not my intent.

MRU is definitely doing good work calling out Samsung about these legacy bloatware that are hidden under the hood. The only question is whether they really matter now that touchwiz is so snappy and is paired with 3gb ram. Also, who knows if any of those under the hood bloat are necessary to the phone's operation.

Still, hopefully Samsung will address this in the future as they continue sorting and cleaning up touch wiz.

Keep on fighting the good fight MRU! (Wish more people could be this honest about Apple's shortcomings).

I'm waning on my desire to get the S6 Edge....with no beautiful Green hitting the states....and the extra cost (which I knew was coming, but the numbers make it real)....

I'm still wanting to get a Samsung device. I feel like I SHOULD. I just don't know if I'm willing to pay extra for what is still novelty of the Edge to me (until I find a specific use case).

And at the end of the day.....do I really want a regular S6? I need to see them in person. If I do go for one, I'll be selling my OnePlus One.

Tmobile rep says shipments will happen earlier than April 10, btw. She said people may be getting them days earlier. She seemed like she knew what she was talking about.

All the more tempting...

My take? I would buy a Note 4 which is loaded and at a discount now at this point instead of the S6 Edge.

The OnePlus One isn't really worth selling since it hardly gets money back. It's probably what, $250-$300 for a used one?

If price is a factor, the Note 4 is better value. I like the Edge, but I don't see myself turning over the phone for the color specific contacts. Gimmicky for sure. I do like the innovation from Samsung. If they made that the main S6, it would sell really well. Force Apple's hands and their bottom-line would grow at the same time. They focus on more per unit profit than an overall sales window between now and the 6S and 6S+. The Note 4 with Lollipop has most of the features of the S6: UI with green in the phone portion with the dialer having to be taped, orange contacts and messaging, etc. I want the auto camera function instead of S-Voice. Is that possible on a Note 4? What I think will happen is that I'll probably buy a Note 5 instead because it will have the S6 features + better and newer features since Samsung wants people to buy new phones with some distinctions.

There is a huge amount of self-delusion floating around here by kool aid drinkers.

I played with the S6 and S6 Edge in store yesterday. Those things kick ass.
- The S6 is a bit boring in visual design but feels great in the hand and interface is very snappy.
- The S6 Edge is gorgeous, feels even better in hand and the only complaint with it can be that Samsung did not give the full "edge functionality" that is available on the Note Edge.

The glass back I dont see the point of: it is just another point of failure to go wrong - and Samsung does not offer the extensive netowrk of own stores/repair locations as Apple, so IMO its a bad idea. I would have been happy with the exact same back made of high quality plastic that is on the Note 4 - would not detract from the feel of the device at all.

The discussion of "Touchwiz" is just babble from reviewers that have no technical insight and nothing new to say: these two devices are extremely snappy. End of.

Bottom line anyway: these are monster devices and will sell like hot cakes, whether the haters like it or not, whether the biased reviewers like it or not. Its a benchmark device and a milestone in smartphone history.

I agree the glass back is pointless with few places to get repairs but you know, many here feel something like that is a quality build where i see it as a liability. Id also prefer the plastic back of the Note 4 to the glass back. I just really dont care for it and would also prefer to have the Micro Slot. Sometimes following Apple's lead is not a good thing.

I am in love with the S6 after looking at it today. The screen is beautiful and the pictures it takes are amazing. The Edge, however, I didn't like. I saw the same discoloration that Erica Griffin pointed out, on both the black and white Edge. Also, the Edge didn't feel good in the hand compared to the normal S6. There just isn't enough on the sides to hold onto. The S6 has nice flat sides for grip, unlike the Edge. Maybe with a case the Edge would have a better grip, but the distortion on the sides would bother me.

Can anyone confirm whether Best Buy has the Gold on display? I really want to see it in person.

My Best Buy had three on display, 2 blacks (one of them was an Edge) and one white Edge.

Exact same setup that my local BB had. No gold.

Took the words right out of my mouth--posted nearly the exact same impressions over in the S6 edge thread a moment ago. Its a gorgeous device but must less pleasant to use. The standard S6 on the other hand was terrific--and that's coming from someone admittedly not a fan of previous Samsung device. Still don't love TW but it was a super smooth experience.

Spent an hour at BB flipping between both.

I like the look of the Edge very much but at a $100 premium I would not go for it. I liked the feel of the S6 much better myself. It was cool that some videos I played on YouTube covered over the edge of the screen.

I opened a bunch of apps on the S6, those did include a browser Web page using Chrome and one with Samsung's Brower and also I had access to the Play Store so I installed BB Blitz and Subway Surfers. With everything opened, the S6 had 1gb free. I left each on their menu screen before leaving and each time I went back to the menu screen for each of those games, the app refreshed. Same with the web pages, they refreshed. The games played fine.

I did not detect any lag at all, nice and smooth moving around.

I tried the camera taking some pics but I really cannot comment much other than saying it opened fast, so did the gallery and the pics looked very good to me anyway.

The screen is gorgeous no way around that. But the audio with the Sony earbuds I brought was 2DF, definitely an eargasm. Videos and YouTube audiophile music playing was outstanding. I have to say though that without ear buds the speaker did not thrill me and like the S5, there is vibration you feel when you hold the device and the volume is about 50%.

The wireless charger was circular and free with preoder.

I had fun.The Samsung reps were great and I could of stayed longer if I wanted to.

I wonder why they refreshed the content if it was telling you 1gb was free ?

I'm starting to suspect lollipop is the main culprit and is still very aggressive on closing apps / memory management. That's the kind of thing I was seeing on 5.0.1 on my Note 4

Yeah I think this is by design. I notice chrome refreshes sometimes (all the time?) When I come back to it later.

I remember you going back to KitKat on the Note 4. I tried opening the same things on that device while I was at BB when I was done looking at the S6. No refreshes on the Note 4.

How did people find the RAM quantity on the S6? When I used multiple Best Buy demo units, I couldn't find it using the capacitive app switcher key. I couldn't even test the fingerprint scanner either.

I can attest that the fingerprint scanner is very good. Lightning fast. May even be a hair faster than the iPhone.

Also, I think more importantly, the fact that it's a rectangle home button, I thought, actually helped it read your fingerprint faster and better. Because when you're holding your phone in one hand, and your thumb hits the home button, it actually aligns more horizontally than it does any other direction. I feel like there's more "surface area" to read your fingerprint. : shrug :

Anyway, it was very reliable.

Settings, applications manager. Scroll over to Running.

My Nexus 6 and Moto X 2014 do not refresh apps. They are both running Lollipop.

S6 32Gb $749
S6 32Gb Edge $849

No thanks Bad Buy!! :)

Ah okay, the old options method. I use the app switcher short cut. For some reason, Best Buy models didn't have it.

MRU is right on in this thread.

TW is a disaster and yay it runs fast brand new. Give it time as Samsung has fooled me before with a beautiful screen but the resource management and TW interface is terrible.

Not this time Samsung.

Beautiful hardware, worst software out there.
Enjoy fellas

Yawn. How many times will you tell us this? You've made your decision about the s6. Thanks for telling us again.

Plenty of other android devices and threads to discuss them in.

My galaxy s5 on official lollipop runs 100x better then it did when I first bought it and have less then 2gb space left on it with so much installed and running.

nothing you said makes sense because with every firmware update Samsung has made TouchWiz is more efficient and more memory optimized
