Some quick thoughts after almost 24hrs of ownership, doing this during my lunch break.

The screen is awesome. It's slightly sharper than the iphones, though you wouldn't be able to tell unless your really looking, it's a lot like the Note 4. But the big improvement is outdoor visibility. It's a nice improvement over the Note 4, I live in sunny Florida and out visibility has always been a problem with AMOLEDs, but on the S6 it's good, on par with the best lcds. Combine that with the dark blacks and vibrant colors, it's the best screen out now. The only drawback is that white still looks slightly yellow.

After I loaded up all my info and apps, I have noticed a hit in performance. Don't get me wrong, everything is still fast, but I do notice stuttering here and there. As I type this post, if I pause for too long and start typing, the keys register but the sound and vibration dont, they delay then catch up. After they catch up, it's back in sync with my presses, but that little bit of lag and hesitation is still there.

Battery is a mixed bag. While in use, the battery seems to run down Farley quickly, but in standby mode it just sips the battery like the iphone, while working battery dropped 2% in almost 2 hours with 2 phone calls and no other use. Last night I fully charged it before setting up all my apps and accounts, I killed the battery with about 3.5hrs screen on time. That will probably come out to 4-5 hrs screen time on a normal day. The bayern does recharge very quickly to around 80%, then it slows down.

Reception has been pretty good, as has been call quality. Samsung's virtual keyboard has been greatly imprpved, haven't switched over to Google yet and I don't think I will. All the basic apps look MUCH better, while I still think stock android and sense have a nicer design, it's has been greatly improved and is no longer an eyesore imo.

That's about it for now, will try to post again tonight and get some pictures up for those who asked.

Thanks Fernandez for the Review on S6 ..

When Indoors on my Alpha 850M I keep the Brightness way down to maybe 20 to 25% or even Auto Mode.

This seems to increase my SOT to 4 to 5 hours usually ..

I am hoping if I get the S6 to get more like 6 hours or over SOT using low brightness when away from Power.

Watching Movie etc. or Vid with Power nearby - more fun to crank it to
40 to 50% which is pretty bright on these Samsungs...

Appreciate info here from Users so I know what to expect.

I am also in Florida on Alpha 850M

Metro PCS / Tmobile and get great phone coverage even in elevators sometimes etc.(!)
Radios in this Alpha are similar to Note 4- but NOT the great Note 4 Camera which is why I may move up to S6..

Seems like an honest review

Sorry, Then you clearly do not know what you are talking about I'm afraid.

Problem with some of you people is that you go to the extreme.

I have carried my Galaxy S3 for almost 3 years inside my trousers pocket, each night i take it out and clean it, not a single scratch.

People using the iphone 6 with the same use are reporting scratches, can't you see?

But yeah you love to state the same over and over again:

Any screen can scratch including GG4.

That's the easy way to justify the scratches on the iphone 6, sorry but i disagree if the phone is well manufactured and you treat it with love and by love i mean decent use it shouldn't get scratches unless its quality its lame like the iphone 6...then go and buy it a screen protector...

Hope the galaxy s6 is solid again under normal use, regarding this aspect.

So you disregard all the evidence presented to you from a wide variety of impartial sources simply because it proves your assumption is utterly flawed and baseless. Bless.

Again I point you to these GS6 Edge buyers getting scratched screens out of the box

Scratches can happen to all screens - and sand & grit are the worst culprits. Period.

All the evindence presented to me?, impartial sources? what the heck are you talking about?

Try searching iphone 6 screen scratched on Apple forums, you are gonna be surprised.

I saw some of those pics on XDA. Can you imagine that right out of the box! Yikes.
Someone suggested it was from the plastic film the phones comes in. That people were "sliding" it out instead of unwrapping it.....and that was what was scratching the screen. :D
If you believe that......I have some swamp land...I mean rich fertile acreage I would like to sell ya.....

I have not said iPhone screens do not scratch. I said ALL screen can scratch. That doesn't mean they will - but it means ALL are susceptible. I do not understand why you find that so hard to comprehend - that you can't even see things objectively.

Yeah must admit I did hold my breath when I opened my box :D I bet you did too.

I also must admit when I slid it out of the plastic I held my breath even tighter despite knowing full well that there was no way plastic wrap could cause those scratches lol :D

What's disappointing for some of those folks is receiving multiple devices with the same issue - bit like Spinedoc and his Note 4 returns. Can you imagine getting 2 or 3 scratched ones - ouch.

But yeah i'm delighted mine is scratch free. Thank heavens.
I have ordered the Galaxy S6 Edge flip case to protect my screen when I'm out and about on the beach.
Just to be on the safe side as screen protectors look to be awkward for it.

.

Same here i do not understand you and why you don't comprehend, i'm not saying the galaxy 3 is 100% infallibe against scratches, if i pass a knife on it i'm pretty sure i can scratch it, obviously.

I'm talking about one simple example here: putting a phone in your pocket, the galaxy 3 (or at least mine), doesn't get a single one while the iphone 6 does apparently...

Now i'm wondering if Samsung went the same way as Apple for the Galaxy S6 i hope they don't.

Does one really have to spell out how there are wide variables involved and the dust and lint in your pocket can change and that people wear 'different' pants ?

Do whatever you want, i don't care but i'm answering you:

According to your "theory" my galaxy after almost 3 years of use, should be full of scratches, at least 1 tiny one....it doesn't have a single one, surprise!;)

Same for the ipod touch 5 (almost 3 years of use), nice quality screens, even the galaxy 1 (2 years of use) not a single sratch.

I did a similar search for every smartphone and the results were the same. There are numerous threads of complaints about the Galaxy S3 screen being easily scratched.

The iPhone 6 glass has the same Mohs hardness rating as the S3 glass, so your evidence is anecdotal. The most likely substance to scratch glass is sand. That isn't an opinion. It's reality. And it won't be any different with the S6, unless they start making it out of a harder substance, such as sapphire.

Thought about getting one of these and making (try to make) a ROM for the T-Mobile Galaxy guys. Another unlocked bootloader from Samsung and T-Mobile awesome!

or maybe i'm just pretty careful...

Anyways personally i've never seen so much polemic regarding scratches on a screen like the iphone 6, that's pretty much the winner currently and if i wanted to repeat my old good same no scratches experience i'd go definitely Galaxy again. :)

Sadly it's full of bloatware so i wouldn't recommend it either...unless you want a strong phone.

BTW my experience with the ipod touch 5 is also annecdotal right? not a single scratch, same with the galaxy 1 or the ipads.

What a lucky son of a gun i am then. ;)

and Lava i'd love to see numerous threads of complaints for the galaxy s6, do you know any sites?

I bet that's what they say when they sue Samsung. Compared to a rectangle with rounded corners, this is tame.

Apple did file a patent on fingerprint last year, but it's not granted yet. OTH, Samsung has already been granted patent on fingerprint sensor technology in 2013.
http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-...ung&RS=(PD/20130523->20130526+AND+AN/samsung)
FYI, fingerprint technology had been used long before either Apple or Motorola (first use on mobile phones) in PC laptops (HP and Dell).
