I'm thinking I'm going to need help with this. You think we can meet up if I cannot find assistance closer, I don't think we are that far away though, I'm 30 minutes from the city.

It's not too difficult surprisingly. If I can do it with minimal (emphasis minimal) previous experience of using ADB commands :) Hope you get it sorted. It makes app content SO much better size wise. :)

After a full day of use, I'm still not sure how I feel about the S7e. Battery has improved compared to my Note 5. However, I'm getting a high usage of Android System (at 32% right now), not sure why. My SOT as of now is at 3h 15m 46s with 41% battery. Also, like others have mentioned in the beginning, it's nice to see Cell Standby at the bottom of that list.

Anyway, I still haven't decided whether I'm going to keep it. I think running Marshmallow really helps! And, I can say with certainty that if my Note 5 had Marshmallow, I'd probably would have skipped the s7e.

one last note: I don't like the scaling but I'm going to try adb a little later to down scale.

Long discussion going on at XDA about this, going to start going through it as others are seeing big numbers for android system as well.

I don't have Windows, only a Mac. My experience with adb commands is less than yours, I have none! :)

It sounds harder than it is but it's easy...... FOOLPROOF DIRECTIONS ......

Downdload the ADB Installer from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
I downloaded from the Google Drive link.

Click to install, as it installs hit "Y" for everything. (Takes seconds)

Now ADB is installed.

Now make sure Developer Mode is enabled on your phone. Go to settings, About Device, then tap on the Build Number until Developer Mode is enable.

Developer Mode should now exist right above About Device under settings. Tap it, then toggle the Developer Options to ON, then scroll down and enable USB debugging.

Now connect your S7 edge to your computer via USB cord, under Windows or Windows Virtual Machine.

Open Command Prompt in Windows. Just type CMD in search if you can't find it.

Then copy n paste this code ....
Code:
adb shell wm density 560 && adb reboot

Your phone should instantly reboot and the 560dpi will be set.

You can change 560 to whatever you want if you want to try to experiment.

Lol. Yeah I used Parallels to do mine. I could use ADB for Mac but the last time I used ADB on the Mac it turned out I had to add extra digits (something like ./ ) before each command but I can't remember exactly...

Took these photos mid run, down hill, at about 8:07 minutes/mile pace. The purpose was to reply to a buddy photos on his run in Mexico. Looks clear to me...other photos would have blurred.

Love the lack of noise even in rough poorly lit conditions.

Yep. The camera literally captured the snow flakes falling, while I was running, contrasting against the road. I took the phone out. Double tapped the home button to launch, and hit the volume key twice to take the pic. Didn't review them and continued my run. I was impressed with the results, considering it a mobile phone camera.

This thread is too much, the pictures are too much, tomorrow can't come soon enough. Gonna have to go with a Sammy flip case until enough reviews for screen protectors and cases are done.

The Zagg HD Dry is pure rubbish .... I'd avoid that one. I am used to applying screen protectors, but this one is particularly annoying ...

On All About Android this week one of the hosts is a reviewer and was talking about the new Galaxy. She said it scratches very easy and she has had it in a case, sounds like a body skin is a must

Agree. I can't wait to get some real world hands on with the Edge. It's the first "large" phone I'm taking seriously.

One small gripe with the edge display and Tapatalk is how the unread indicator gets lost. I'm still trying to adjust.

Careful with that case, it scratched the screen for previous models. Always On doesn't work with it either.

That was a very STEEP run ;) :p

I assume all of you in the USA got the Samsung camera sensor ? Seems the exynos got the Sony sensor ... I wonder if there will be much difference. I haven't really tried pushing OIS yet.

Nope my G935FD exynos got the Samsung sensor

Love the scrolling screenshot in the S7 and S7 Edge. It's even easier than on the Note 5.

The new flip case seems to sit a little higher than before and maybe the lid is deeper to avoid previous issues with screen contact, however the soft hinge makes the lid skew to easily so feels a bit crappy IMO, also a finger print magnet.

I just swapped it for the clear back case which seems to protect the edges better and you can align the edge toggle with the key recess on the right side which makes it seem more natural, the back seems more grip like texture, less of a finger print magnet and just pleasantly takes the edge of the mirror finish on the back, just needs a glass screen protector to complete.

Yeah, I heard that as well. Listening to This Week in Google podcast now and Leo Laporte has had two separate incidents where the back glass cracked on him. He admitted to accidentally drops/bumps but said he was a bit surprised as neither very severe.

It is glass so can't say that's surprising. I'm more surprised by Florence Ion's incidents of the glass scratching on her review unit. I thought the latest version of Glorilla Glass was pretty damn scratch resistant.

I have never believed the gorilla glass hype, every phone I have had with it scuffed easy

I believe that was for the led case. From what I understand the issue has been addressed. Maybe I'll just do the S View instead as it's more interactive. Either way it's temporary till I can get a good screen protector and slim case.

When does the iPhone get the next software update? Isn't it a year out from the release of the device, too? I'm not following why it's unreasonable for Samsung to update their S6 a year out from the S6's release, but acceptable for Apple to update their iPhone a year out after its release.

Or am I misunderstanding?

Apple release major release every year but release several dot release within that same year. After releasing 9.0, they release 9.1,9.2,9.3, 9.4 to come after then iOS 10 will be released around September.

Also, iOS 9 supports a lot of devices, going back to the iPhone 4s (released September 2011). New version is pushed to all devices at the same time, which is also different from Android.

I currently have a Note4.

After a full day of use, I'm still not sure how I feel about the S7e.

do you notice a big difference with the camera between the S7e and note5?

I haven't tested the camera yet but maybe @jamezr could comment; he as well has a Note 5 and s7e.

So no one is going to talk about how the S7 actually has Adaptable Storage? It was hidden in the code. No root required to activate it.

You actually have 3 options with storage.
1. Fully integrated aka Adaptable Storage
2. Hybrid.. Equivalent to partitioning a drive
3. Leave as is. External

Link: http://www.modaco.com/news/android/...e-adoptable-storage-on-your-s7-s7-edge-r1632/

I am good as is. Choice is good though. Allow folks to do what they need to do. It should be a setup choice, not a workaround.
