Eh honestly I think the way Samsung was trying to implement it was less confusing than standard Marshmallow. But nice that they left the code in there.
So no one is going to talk about how the S7 actually has Adaptable Storage? It was hidden in the code. No root required to activate it.
You actually have 3 options with storage.
1. Fully integrated aka Adaptable Storage
2. Hybrid.. Equivalent to partitioning a drive
3. Leave as is. External

I would not be women wear far more rings and handbag contents lets not even go there![]()
Not yet. On vacation for another week, so no access to my computer. But I will be doing this once I get my hands on a 128gb uhs-ii/U3 SD card with a minimum read/write speeds at 150mb/s. New Sandisk cards are hitting the streets next month with nearly double that speed, so may wait.Have you tried it out?

Agree 100%. Wish this would have been put in Settings->Storage as an option.I am good as is. Choice is good though. Allow folks to do what they need to do. It should be a setup choice, not a workaround.
You do realize that a phone with no sim means the modem and radio aren't actively searching for a signal and therefore not eating up battery life. Not to mention the screen was off.I hate to say it but def not blown away by the battery life. Today was really hectic and aside from a bunch of calls, and Google searches over lunch I hardly used the phone. Sitting here at 50%. Meanwhile my 6splus that I took the sim out of yesterday and left on my desk at 50% charge, now has 40%.
The S7 takes better low light pictures of course. But they both take great pictures the best in any smartphone I have used. I don't see a difference other than in low light.I haven't tested the camera yet but maybe @jamezr could comment; he as well has a Note 5 and s7e.

Had to verify that the S7 had uhs-ii capability first though and it was confirmed on Reddit via Samsung.
Only way I will do this is if the SD card can come close to matching the internal drive speeds. Otherwise, it is pointless IMO.
Yeah, the actual read/write is always going to be lower than the potential read/write figures on a phone. (The rated speeds are Sequential, not random. Makes the card appear faster than it is in actual real life use.) That is why I am looking to possible wait for the Sandisk UHS-II/U3 SD cards that are coming out next month. The S7 can supposedly handle UHS-II cards at the rated speeds. I hope this to be true if I'm going to spend over $200 on a 128gb card.Ran a speed test from two separate apps on the internal and SD Storage. I'm using this card ....

The RED SD card icon is the actual micro SD.

"Supposedly". Cards aren't out yet to verify the claims. For the price, it better be able to do random write speeds over 70mb/s! Sequential write speeds better be around 250mb/s.And the write speeds would actually be over a hundred? If so, that's damn good.
Still I am a bit worried about the standby time. In my short time with the phone it is measurability shorter then I'm used to. Hopefully it was just a lark. You do realize that a phone with no sim means the modem and radio aren't actively searching for a signal and therefore not eating up battery life. Try doing the same thing with the S7 that you did with the 6S. $20 says you'll find the iPhone depleted and the S7 only used a few percent of the battery.
Not rocket science here.
The stanby times will not be the same as your iPhone. I have a 6s+ and no other phone can touch it's standy time. But the S7 shines in so many other areas too. It just comes down to your preferences and what is most important to you. My S7 has consistently been getting 6-7 hours SOT.Still I am a bit worried about the standby time. i listen to music on my S7 through wired headphones. I haven't noticed a difference tbh.Anyone finding volume via headhones to be low on the edge? Same headphones as the iPhone, where 60% is a perfect level on my iphone, the edge is requiring 80-90%. Making subway and gym time tough. Same via Bluetooth.

I don't have adapt sound enabled. Sorry i'm not much help....Hm. Do you have adapt sound enabled? I tried thinking it would make a difference but it hasn't seemed to

My phone was at 52% when I went to sleep and I just woke up and it's still at 52%.
