But he is right. Touchwiz is bad. At first it's very smooth and fluid, but then you open few apps, browse few websites, let the phone be for a few minutes and suddenly it's not so smooth. Then you close apps, do that boost thing and it goes back to normal for a while and the whole thing repeats. There is even an option to reboot the device to keep it performing optimally. What the ****.

But he also said this:

Larry9, I’m guessing you missed the part where I said these phones are better than the current iPhones!

So presumably he's just has a dislike for Samsung TW and the extras the US carriers have installed, shame he did not have a non US version which is the majority of users

Just a quick battery update. The phone is incredibly impressive. Fully charged it, and started the set up process. This is how the battery stands so far. And on a side note, I actually like this S View Case more than I thought would.

Great battery life! My S7 Edge on the otger hand is not getting as good as yours.

Are you using the package disabler pro app to disable any of the apps or have you disabled any of the apps yet at all? And besides that, have you done any battery optimization for your phone?

Sam question for your MRU. Just wanna see why mine is not behaving the same.

Not using package disabler. The only thing I've disabled is chrome (seeing as though I couldn't disable Samsung Internet), s-voice and s-health.

Other than that it's running stock Three firmware.

I haven't unlocked it yet, but when I do I will be flashing the unbranded UK/Ireland BTU firmware. But as of now, it's just standard firmware.

I have screen brightness on auto brightness with the slider at about 55% indoors.

Why did you disable chrome? I'm finding it to drain a ton of battery and the scrolling is lousy and jittery but not liking the Samsung browser much either.

I don't want two browsers on my device. One is automatically redundant to me, so one had to go. The only one I could disable using standard uninstall feature was Chrome. Hence it got the chop.

I use chrome on my other stock android devices, Safari on my iPhone - so it's not a disliking of it - just that I only want one browser on any particular device.

I am getting similar battery life, surprising me as i am leaving it on autobrightness with slider just above 50% until i go outside and then it adjusts itself to go full ... Impressive battery life.
Are you guys disabling anything? Read on XDA that some are having better battery life without disabling anything compared to those who are.

Edit: MRU, just read a few post back that you're not disabling anything except Chrome. Ignore my previous question :p.

I gave Samsung’s Internet browser a try for a day. Not bad, and I like the fingerprint sign in. But the scrolling is too slow compared to Chrome. I haven't used Firefox in awhile, might give that another try.

Agree, I felt Firefox and chrome were fairly jerky in their ability to scroll compared to safari. The Samsung browser seemed better at least to me but didn't like the interface so I disabled it

I don't like how Chrome has a delay in pinch to zoom until your fingers are like an inch apart. The Samsung browser doesn't do that.

Guys, I'm missing the size of my s6... :(

No matter how compact this device is, it's a big phone. And the struggles of finger reaching and hand adjusting that's required to use it one handed is real. Even it it's easier to accomplish than any other large phone.

At least I'm not getting any accidental palm touches. Zero so far. I'm impressed by that. The real challenge is reaching that left screen for slide out menus. I thought the edge screen would help with that, but because the device is so large it's hard to reach it and have it register that I'm trying to slide the menu out and not just hitting the screen. Play store is the prefect example. It sometimes won't pull out the menu at all and nothing happens, or it'll register as a tap instead and I'm going somewhere I never intended.

A little frustrating.

I might consider jumping to the s7. I have two weeks before I can begin jumping so I'll see if I get used to it or not.

How is the battery life of the s7, users?

Why wait for two weeks to get the S7, can't you just exchange it?

It seems the S7 Edge can't handle playing YouTube videos in HD. Anything 1080p and higher it lags and stalls playing the video but you hear the sound. Does anyone else have this issue or tried it? My Note 5 works like a champ. And this is a fresh install.

I just tested and it works fine on my end. I was on wifi, though.

Okay, so I uninstalled the youtube updates and using the one that came on the phone and it works fine. Any ideas why that would work?

It did it both on wifi and 4g lte

No issue here.

Very strange :( and weirdly random. At least it's working now, but yeah, strange one.

Others on the Android forums are noticing these issues as well.....Make sure you play a video capable of 1440.

I'm on the latest version and no hiccups. I'll keep an eye on it though. Curious, what s7e variant are you using?

Edit: just tried 1440p and no hiccups.

Yeah I've played a number of 1080p videos on mine and so far no problem. Are the folks experiencing it using snapdragon or exynos - wonder if it's GPU related.

I'm on exynos and as I say, not had any YouTube issues.

Final edit: it's been resolved. I wasn't finger scanning properly. All good now.

What is up with this "additional security" business where every now and then the phone will ask me to input my pattern code to unlock the device?

Why are Samsung copying the worse things from apple?

Anyone else experiencing this? This is not from a restart. Just sometimes it'll ask for pattern instead of my fingerprint.

Edit: and it's really random. Happened once within minutes of using my device. I went to put it down to do something else, picked it up literally minutes after and gave me the prompt again to input pattern. What gives?

Phone updated the app itself and now it is broken again. :/

S7 edge AT&T. Not sure what more info you want?
[doublepost=1457802324][/doublepost]Seems it's related to the SnapDragon processor. The LG V10 and a Moto X have the same issues.....per the XDA forums...ugh.

Why not try with the edge screen on the other side or does that give you other problems ?
