Why not try with the edge screen on the other side or does that give you other problems ?

I'm talking about in app slide out menus. Those are always on the left.

It's no biggie at the end if the day. I'll get used to it.

The bigger issue is this added security bull crap. Where itll ask for my pattern instead if my finger print at the lock screen.

What is up with this "additional security" business where every now and then the phone will ask me to input my pattern code to unlock the device?

Why are Samsung copying the worse things from apple?

Anyone else experiencing this? This is not from a restart. Just sometimes it'll ask for pattern instead of my fingerprint.

Edit: and it's really random. Happened once within minutes of using my device. I went to put it down to do something else, picked it up literally minutes after and gave me the prompt again to input pattern. What gives?

Nope never seen this and I have never registered a pattern just fingerprint and unlock pin, maybe that helps

Snapdragon model here too, kept having issues with 1080 and 1440 YouTube videos as well, even though it looked sufficiently buffered it would freeze or slow down.

Make a video of your gs7 doing this and I'll PayPal you 50 bucks.you are flat out wrong and do nothing but crap talk Samsung when ever you get a chance.I have a gs6 sitting next to me and it's still just as fast as day one and is loaded with apps.
It would be hard for him to make a video of something he doesn't own. The guy is a die hard Apple fan and will attack any non iOS device without have any first hand experience. Best just to set him to "ignore". He just acts like a child to get attention.

This is not good. Almost a deal breaker for this awesome phone. I like watching youtube videos a lot on subscriptions I have. Hmmmm....I could live with 720p I guess to get by....

nope they toggle left or right see bottom of edge panel settings my one says right-side, medium, 30% transparency

I think you've misunderstood the slide out thing I'm talking.

Phone updated the app itself and now it is broken again. :/

S7 edge AT&T. Not sure what more info you want?
[doublepost=1457802324][/doublepost]Seems it's related to the SnapDragon processor. The LG V10 and a Moto X have the same issues.....per the XDA forums...ugh.
I'm on TMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's ATT TW causing this. ATT kills the experience with bloatware.

Maybe I've been putting my finger prints in wrong. Not seeing the pattern additional security ask anymore.

Thank goodness.

Seeing this YouTube problem on both an AT&T and T-mobile phone...can't be connection speed related, wifi is super solid at home.

The Lg V10 & Moto X Pure use the Snapdragon 808, the Moto X Force use snapdragon 810.

I've played & play 1080p video on the Pure and the X Force (and likewise my 6P) without issue so I don't think it's a snapdragon issue across the board as these are all different varying chipsets.

Always on display is completely useless to me.

I'd argue this is the gimmick-est new feature. Much gimmickier than the edge features. The edge features are actually useful, practical, and customizable.

Anyway, I'm starting to appreciate the device more. The little refinements are starting to add up. TouchWiz on marshmallow is absolutely amazing. It's fast and smart. TW plus MM is an amazing combo of android.

Nothing on XDA about YouTube videos? I am almost positive there was when I was researching my other issues I had which are good to go now.

I remember from back when different versions of YouTube software not partnering well with some devices that had QHD. One had to find one of the previous versions that worked for hi def playback.

I disabled it, it may not hinder battery life but I don't care. :)

Seriously, TouchWiz running on top of Marshmallow is the best combination of android I've ever experienced. It's fast and smart. This is the most perfect pairing of stock Android's stability and speed, and TouchWiz's useful features.

Brilliant android experience. Can't believe the difference can be that great from last generation's software.

Always on could def use some UI tweaking to get it to be more useful. Unfortunately, unless Samsung allows developers to utilize it within their apps to show notifications, it will remain pretty limited. I don't think it is gimmicky though. I used the feature a lot on my Moto X. I just think Samsung has limited a great feature.

Great battery life! My S7 Edge on the otger hand is not getting as good as yours.

Are you using the package disabler pro app to disable any of the apps or have you disabled any of the apps yet at all? And besides that, have you done any battery optimization for your phone?

Sam question for your MRU. Just wanna see why mine is not behaving the same.

Are you guys disabling anything?

I am completely stock, running stock launcher with Exynos. I have brightness set to auto and slider at around 80. I think I'm not even gonna install Nova. I'm extremely happy with this version of TW. One thing I really missed when running Nova, is being able to have a full widget of S Planner. Now I got my full S Planner widget back with TW. I can say this phone is a keeper for me. And I most likely will be getting a Note 6 since I'm a big fan of that line. Here is a list of my disabled apps. As much as I don't care for S-Voice, I use voice commands for my camera. Can't do without it, so S-Voice stays enabled. I don't use always on, I don't see the point of it since I have security on my phone for a reason. Just for good measure, I should also point out I'm running Telegram, Whatsapp, Kik and BBM for messaging.

Thanks for sharing! Read on XDA some are having good battery life without Disabler package pro; might have to test this.

Possible. I haven't messed with turning stuff off yet. I can get 1080p most of the time working, but definitely not 1440p.

Just tried Snow Monkeys video on YouTube (search query was 5k video) and it is running fine with 1440p on my AT&T variant.
Interesting...the snow monkeys 5k video worked for me.....so it seems it dependent on the videos too?

Guys, I'm missing the size of my s6... :(

No matter how compact this device is, it's a big phone. And the struggles of finger reaching and hand adjusting that's required to use it one handed is real. Even it it's easier to accomplish than any other large phone.

At least I'm not getting any accidental palm touches. Zero so far. I'm impressed by that. The real challenge is reaching that left screen for slide out menus. I thought the edge screen would help with that, but because the device is so large it's hard to reach it and have it register that I'm trying to slide the menu out and not just hitting the screen. Play store is the prefect example. It sometimes won't pull out the menu at all and nothing happens, or it'll register as a tap instead and I'm going somewhere I never intended.

A little frustrating.

I might consider jumping to the s7. I have two weeks before I can begin jumping so I'll see if I get used to it or not.

How is the battery life of the s7, users?

I just got back from best buy.I returned my 7 edge for the regular 7!

Is there any way to ad snote to the edge panel? I already put a widget on my homescreen, but the option doesn't show up in the edge panel. Really wish you could ad more option to it.

Also, some benchmarks.
