Yeah, coming from a note 5 I didn't think I would see much of an upgrade, but I definitely see the performance upgrade, I love how small the phone feels in hand even though the screen is nearly identical, and battery life is even better.

Add in a slightly vetter screen, better feel in hand, water proofing (watching hulu while in the shower is awesome), Microsd, and better camera. I'm still in the honeymoon stage and my Note is now 7 months old, but I really feel this is a worthwhile update. Only drawbacks are no 64gb version and no spen, plus I wish they had kept the ir blaster.
LOL Hulu in the shower! Genius:)

Even Samsung's marketing is doing a better job this year. The ads are more focused on the S7 features -- highlighting waterproofing, microSD, the new design, and even Gear VR.

As for the ads that still compare the S7 to the iPhone, what can one say really? It's hard to get mad at an ad when it's accurate. The Apple Pay vs Samsung Pay ad, for example, actually happened to me exactly like in the commercial. It was unbelievable.

Maybe that's why so many Apple fans have such a hard time with those kinds of Samsung ads; because they're mostly true and often highlight weaknesses of the iPhone. I have said time and time again, we shouldn't be shy or afraid to call out all the missteps and shortcomings of the iPhone and Apple. Just like we shouldn't be afraid to call out all of Samsung's either, ie. the need for tighter control of carrier bloatware and influence, getting better at software updates, etc. They listened with the S6. The listened again even more with the S7. Hopefully they're listening again for the S8.

Is Apple listening?
[doublepost=1458063883][/doublepost]

Yep. They are listening on so many fronts.

Another thing I love is how they're moving most of the Samsung suite of apps to the Galaxy store instead of forcing it on people. Hope they continue with this route.

Or even if they want to allow the carriers to have bloat in there, that in itself is actually not what's bad. What's bad is making it uninstallable. They should work on the latter as a suggestion to the carriers as Samsung [hopefully] forges a better relationship and deal with them. (Don't hold your breath though, folks...)
At this point, the carriers should just make their own app store and just have a link preloaded on the phone. You don't want their apps, just delete the link. If you do click the link and download their app store. And hopefully by decouple this would speed up updates

Well find out, I feel the pressure to reduce the bezels and update the springboard are louder now than they've ever been. They listened when making the phone larger and are listening now to those who want one that's smaller. This fall should be one of the biggest updates for mobile phones, you got the Nexus adding touchwiz like features, you got the apple redesign, and the note 6 following up an incredible phone in the s7, it's going to be lots of fun.

And how will HTC redeem themselves, if they even can?

How will LG G5 compete when it's finally released?

How will Motorola look like under Lenovo's direction?

What in the world is going on with Sony?

How will Huawei continue the surge from the successful Nexus 6P?

How will OnePlus "kill" flagships this year with the OnePlus Three and, perhaps more interestingly, the One Plux X follow up?

How will Xiaomi and the other smaller players try to expand and breach new markets?

Exciting stuff, indeed. Many possibilities. And the S7 Edge has made the right statement and set the right standard.

The international S7 edge available on ebay for 699.99. Just picked one up. With 8% ebay bucks, comes out to $644, not bad at all.

I agree. Screen size is close enough to my Note 5 and the fact that it's a newer device with Marshmallow has me leaning towards keeping it. Anyway, the beauty of JoD is, I can have the Note 6 when its released!

I'm doing JOD for the first time with my S7 Edge, and honestly, I kind of wish I owned it.

Honestly, after using the Edge at BB and knowing how I could get around my specific issues with it I just decided to buy it outright. The only other smartphone I could possibly want SENSIBLY afterwards is the Note 6 BUT that would border on trusting it would be killer and worth turning in the S7 Edge for.

Yeah, part of me wishes I just bought the device. I really could see myself using this for two years.

I can't seem to get the plastic off the camera.

Are we positive the Tmobile version has a camera plastic? And if so, are we supposed to leave it on? Cause there's no indication to take it off or anything. Is there? Like in the manual somewhere or something?

There was no plastic on my camera. There is definitely plastic on the flash/senors module.

I don't see one on my TMO S7e

Be very careful of the flash module. Unlike the camera (which is glass at least, but not sapphire), the flash/sensor module is simple plastic and can easily scratch. This was the case on the Note 5 and I doubt it is different now. Many people just left the film on that sensor.

Mines is still on. Thanks for telling me.

Anyone know how to move photos to the SD card. Samsung’s My files app doesn't appear to allow moving of files????
That's weird, mine give me that option.

Just go to More, then Edit. Check whatever you want, then tap More, then Move.

Don't try to do it from recent files selection. You have to go to the actual destination of photos.

Weird, I have a plastic on my camera but not on the flash/sensor.

I just long pressed on the picture I wanted to move, tapped More, select Move, tap SD card.
Strange I don't get that option :(

All I get is details. Nothing else :(

Edit...

OK I got it. Had to click on images rather than download history and select images there and the move option appeared. Rather convoluted . Thanks for help all.

Picked up an S7 edge on launch day, and am OBSESSED with it.

And Samsung finally found a reason for the curved display: to allow for a big screen on a phone that is not much bigger than a phone with a 5-inch screen. Battery life is amazing, performance is spot on, RAM management is no longer an issue, the silver titanium is absolutely STUNNING, and the cameras are fantastic. Samsung genuinely knocked it out of the park with this one.
