The keyboard on my iphone is the best i have ever used.
I have this wireless charger and love it!

That one looks fantastic as well. If I can find a keyboard like iOS that would be a big plus.

The phone almost feels too small coming from the 6s+ if you will. Like not as wide of course so it makes holding in 2 hands to type kind of awkward.

Small thing I noticed but I am sure I will get used to it.

Anyone have any experience installing a skin with these edge screens?

I have been using the Samsung keyboard or the Google one and they work ok.
I know how you feel. When I use my 6s+ and then switch to my S7.......it make my iphone feel gigantic but you get used to it after a while. Sorry can't help with the skins.....

Yeah the screen size is the amazing thing, who knew 5'5 screen could feel good in the hand like this..I guess with the iPhone it feels like an 6 inch phone due to the wasted space

My edge dropped 16% overnight with screen on display on but I don't know if it's because I downloaded nils lock screen notification so the screens always stayed on

Currently on 71% with 12 hours standby and 1 hour, 30 mins screen on time

Eughh. I would have thought that they fixed the awful standby drain of the S6 series.

Currently using swift key as my main keyboard for now but the Samsung one has been just fine. Yeah the screen can take while to get used to but you have to realise it's the same screen size just there are no wasted space.

Well I think I know why

I left location services on all night and morning...oops

Will do. First impressions are positive but already miss the iOS keyboard being the biggest standout right now so far.

Try Chrooma keyboard, It's pretty good. For myself, the default Samsung keyboard isn't my favorite, but I'm spoiled by the numbers on top.

Comming from 6s plus. Getting insane battery life with same usage pattern - 8:30 of screen on time

I'll give it a try. Trying to find the perfect theme that works for me as some are all over the place.

Swiftkey you can add the numbers up top, I don't recall being anle to do that before which is weird since I always used that keyboard on Android. Just installed it on the S7 and it gave the option to put the numbers up top. Sammy kb isn't bad, but Swiftkey is still tops by far imo.

wish Samsung would have made it an option for all markets. The Exynos is killing it....

Well they outsourced to Qualcomm for one reason.....money. And that gives you a subpar experience compared to the much more expensive Exynos chip. But hey, profits are up! So that is something to cheer about.

I am sure money was a big part of it. Not sure about subpar user experience though. Can you elaborate? My understanding from the battery tests and reviews the Qualcomm and Exynos chips were pretty close to each other in battery performance.
How do you know the Exynos is more expensive than the Qualcomm? Samsung makes the Exynos.

Exynos has ....

- Much faster multi core (no brainer)
- Nicer DAC
- Speed tests show faster starting and app launching
- ~25% better battery life (source: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_edge-review-1409p6.php)
- No locked bootloader

At the sametime, Snapdragon give you....

- A bit faster single core and GPU
- Samsung pay (for US)
- Verizon and Sprint (for US)

I for sure don't know exact cost.... but my overall understanding is that no one else uses Exynos because they are damn expensive. And paying royalties to Qualcomm for usage on Exynos is expense (we saw this in the S6) All around, it must be much cheaper to outsource the chip design for the US. But chip manufacturing is not my wheelhouse, so happy to be corrected here.

I'm using SwiftKey as usual, it has two word prediction and swiping. Since SwiftKey went free, the devs at xda have been doing custom themes. There's lots of great themes, but I'm currently liking this one.

Tell me again how the user experience was subpar? How is the Exynos more expensive again? I am sure Qualcomm made it very lucrative for Samsung to use their chips in the US market......not the other way around. Qualcomm was coming off of bad press from the 810 chipset and overheating throttling issues. heck you have even said as much in the Nexus 6P thread.
So I am sure Qualcomm wanted to get the 820 out to the US market to rebound their image. I am sure they made it more profitable for Samsung use the 820 instead of their own in house Exynos.

In these tests the 820 actually holds it's own pretty well. But then this Phone Arena...I have questioned their results before.

We'll spell it out for you, just in case all the technical talk from those last few paragraphs sounded like alien language. In short, whether you end up with the Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 flavor, it's fair to say that you can expect very comparable system performance. At least synthetic benchmarks agree on that. As soon as time permits, we'll be running another important test to answer another important question: are both these chips equally as power efficient, or does one allow for a notably better battery life? Hang around for the answer.

Haven't use SwiftKey in awhile, gonna try it again. The numbers on top are important for me.

Cool then sounds like we are in agreement. That might be a first. Qualcomm made it cheaper for them than Exynos, so they used it. They make profits, you are happy about that. Performance is close, but battery life and audio are subpar.

Not sure about the agreement part :) You said the Exynos was more expensive to make and therefore no one uses it. Not true. Battery life is a little better on the Exynos for sure. But then the Qualcomm does better at graphics performance.

And that gives you a subpar experience compared to the much more expensive Exynos chip.
Overall they are both pretty close to each other in performance. They both get wins and loses in comparing them together. I wouldn't say one is subpar to the other.

Samsung did a great job making the Exynos. Glad we could agree about that.

Word is today's Verizon update not only lacks the nice battery fixes the other carriers received, it also contains hidden malware. If they can't bloat you initially, they'll do it in updates!

Absolutely insane Samsung continues to allow this.

yeah...this is bad news. But it looks to only be Verizon at this point.
I wish Samsung would take control over updates like Apple for iPhone and Google for the Nexus phones.

It might be wasted space to some, but to others the bezels are there to allow users to hold the phone without inadvertent touching and activating apps on the screen. Two users (one of them an S7e fanatic) have already switched to the smaller S7 because of the inadvertent touching. What is the point of a beautiful curved screen if the user interaction with the screen can become problematic over time?
