How to enter the Galaxy S7 recovery mode

Switch your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge completely.

Boot into Galaxy S7 recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power keys at the same time.

Release all three buttons when Samsung Galaxy S7 screen flickers and you see a warning sign.

Press Volume Up to continue to the main screen of Recovery mode. Or, press Volume Down if you aren’t sure and want to go back to the normal mode.

You are now in the Galaxy S7 recovery mode, aka download mode. When you want to switch back to the normal mode, you can simply use the Reboot option. At any time, you can also exit the Download Mode by pressing the Power button for about ten seconds. This trick also works in cases when your device gets stuck while you are in the Download Mode.
Cheers I've given it a try

I don't want to turn features off to save battery as that's not why I bought it so hopefully it improves.

Just can't get why google services is using so much. It's down to 17% now though

Off the charger yesterday. 4hours of SOT and still 50% to go....

I've been using the new Google keyboard and it really is fantastic. The new features are intuitive and I can execute the moves with ease now. Editing has never been easier.

The delete key hold to highlight and erase text alone is phenomenally useful. And it's so smart they give you the option to undo in the suggestion bar.

Gesture typing accuracy has improved dramatically, too.

Though I still love using my S7 Edge, I've been taking my Note Edge with me as my daily phone and leaving the S7 Edge at home.

Even though my Note Edge is now a bit over a year old, I am still getting the same or sometimes, better battery life then on my S7 Edge. I'm also experiencing the random quick battery drains that others here on the S7 Edge and I have tracked it down to one app and as long as I close out that app when I am done, the battery doesn't drain quickly. I don't have that problem using that same app on my Note Edge/Note 4, both on Lollipop. My Note 5 on Lollipop will also experience that battery drain with that same app so I'm not sure why the Note Edge and Note 4 don't have that problem.

The battery drain on the S7 Edge also seemed to happen when I tried a few different themes. I realized what was causing the problem when I switched back to the previous theme and I verified it was the theme by trying that same theme on both of my S7 Edge phones.

I'm happy though that I have several phones to use whenever I get in the mood to use one. Next week, I may get the urge to use my Note 5 as my daily.

Just got back from a 3 day staycation at a resort with the family for mothers day and my wife and this phone was an absolute pleasure to use during the time.

Got it Friday morning before the trip and still breaking in the battery and adjusting notifications and other things to my liking after coming from a 6s+. I wouldn't say it's stellar battery yet but it has been more than sufficient.

The biggest pleasure was utilizing this phone pool side all day yesterday and having no care in the world if it got splashed or some water on it even though I've never had a phone that does that made me a little anxious. After a couple coronas anxiety gone :)

I still can't get over the screen. It's so vibrant, colorful, and easily the best screen of any smartphone I have ever used.

Pictures were amazing and snapped very fast and look fantastic on the screen as well.

The phone isn't hat wide and has been the biggest pro and con at the same time for me. 2 handed type is quite cramped but one hand functions are so effortless compared to my 6s+

The silver titanium is a beautiful color for this device but I am still leaning to put a skin on it as it thin as a razor blade and slippery as heck.

With no bezels with the edges it feels as if my content is floating on the screen. Easily the most premium device I have ever used and I've used them all.

At this point not missing my iphone in the least except the keyboard experience and a physical mute button was nice.

Minor things and I always said I would never go back to samsung until TouchWiz was gone but it's definitely improved and impressed at the speed of this thing.

Sorry for the long writeup but wanted to post some thoughts as all of you were essential in the feedback and what you said rang true as this is the best device of 2016 so far imo.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

T-Mobile's recent update gives the S7E the May security updates from Google.

Go Samsung and Tmobile.

Glad you're enjoying it. And more importantly, glad you gave it a shot. These features you mention are exactly the reason why using the S7E as my daily driver gives the most worry-free smartphone experience I've ever had.

Agreed. After making the jump from the iPhone I was very concerned but the quality of this device, speed, and screen on this thing that all went out the window.

Will I get the new iPhone when it comes out? Definitely but that is no knock on this phone in the least.

Now to try and find a very slim case or skin it as i am walking a very tight rope before I drop this beauty.
[doublepost=1462729720][/doublepost]This is one area apple dominates is first party cases. Apple has such a great variety of materials colors and such and Samsung has like zero for such a great phone. Be it apples are super pricey but samsung options are pretty slim pickings.

Went to best buy today and like none and the ones they have are terrible.

Looks like I'll stay naked and go skin.

Is this "clipboard" feature native to Android marshmallow or is it something Samsung added with TouchWiz?

Cause it's really useful.

When you long press on a blank page, sometimes "clipboard" will be an option next to "paste" and it's just a history of the last few recent copies you've made when editing. Links and whatnot too.

I've only recently discovered this feature by accident. I don't know where it comes from. Was it an iOS feature? Or is this native Android or a TouchWiz thing?

This has been in TouchWiz for quite a while now, if I'm not mistaken I believe the clipboard was also present on the S4 I owned a while back.

Was it Mothers Day today?

Are they tapatalk uploads ? I assume they are, as it has done it's usual of adding compression artefacts and colour bleed especially on the roses.

Wish Tapatalk would start allowing native upload of images to forums rather than 'hosting' them on its own server and compressing them massively.

Another thing I miss from apple and hope some android vets can help.

How do you quickly get back to the top of a Web page like Apple where you press the top of the phone?

I am using the Samsung browser for reference.

I haven't found an easy way to move back to the top of the screen like the iPhone, but I've gotten used to the kinetic swiping, so a forceful flick usually gets me to the top.

PS. If you haven't already, make sure to install Crystal Ad Blocker for the Samsung browser. It makes browsing 10x more fluid. Those ads really kill the mobile browsing experience.

Such a great tip about the ad block here. Thanks a lot for that. You are so right.

This one seems to be the one that most people report as being the best. I've gone with this one since it's the one I also use on chrome desktop, but this one is specific for Samsung's browser. So far it's been great. No issues with speed.

Does the Samsung browser save your bookmarks in a way Chrome does in case you switch to another Samsung phone or tablet?

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't 10% overnight a lot? Shouldn't Doze put it closer to 1% or something? Or do you have Doze off or some other configuration...?

I actually haven't tested myself how much drops overnight while not charging...

I don't have anything off

I get a lot of notifications during the night and 7-8% was about normal on my iPhone sometimes was more

I must get 30-40 during the night at times

I get a lot of notifications during the night. Even on my iPhone it drains anywhere from 7-14% overnight

I guess a better question is why aren't you charging your phone overnight?

I appreciate a slow standby power drop but in reality, it's irrelevant if you have the ability to charge while you sleep. I don't see the benefit of not doing so.

Now if you don't have power where you sleep, that's a different story but I'd imagine that doesn't apply to the overwhelming majority of us.
