Currently using swift key as my main keyboard for now but the Samsung one has been just fine. Yeah the screen can take while to get used to but you have to realise it's the same screen size just there are no wasted space.

Well I think I know why

I left location services on all night and morning...oops

Do users of the S7/S7e have to turn off location services to get good stand by time?

I have never thought to say this, but for Me , battery IS actually way better then iPhone 6s plus. I just can't kill this thing...

S7e is the first device to get me easily through the day no metter what im doing or how I'm using it. (Except gaming ofcourse)

Google Location History is what will hurt your battery - more so than anything else location wise. Turn it off, but keep other location services on (in battery saver mode if needs be) and you will get much better battery life.

Even with Doze, Google Location History is still aggressive.

It might be wasted space to some, but to others the bezels are there to allow users to hold the phone without inadvertent touching and activating apps on the screen. Two users (one of them an S7e fanatic) have already switched to the smaller S7 because of the inadvertent touching. What is the point of a beautiful curved screen if the user interaction with the screen can become problematic over time?
Had no issues myself so far

Thin bezels is better than big ones to me. I want to make it easier to hold and it's better on the edge for this.

I am still getting lots of false touches myself unless I really position the phone and watch what I'm doing (be cognisant of it) ...

I find myself making more errors on the keyboard than the tiny SE even.

It's actually made me 'prefer' some bezel rather than none from a practicality stand point. Just from frustration free usage.

I may switch (just trade it with someone) like some have done here already to the standard S7 at some point. (Depends how I get on with the HTC 10)

Which keyboard are you using?

Samsung's, tried chrooma and googles. Had same problems with both, especially in condensed view I find some key presses fail more often than I like.
I switched to swift key as I too was having some issues in terms of typing.

Android ... ;)

I still get the odd day where battery life is poop without any rhyme or reason. It's never quite as consistent as iOS - but for the most part the S7e is fairly reliable and still get decent battery even on those finicky days where Android decides to burn through the battery faster than a Fatty in a Cake Shop gets through Donuts ...

So first you told us you had no issue, but now you tell us you have issues and switched keyboards to deal with them.
No issues in terms of handling the phone no which was the first thing I replied to. There was nothing wrong with the Samsung keyboard but as somebody who has big hands having a keyboard where I can increase the size was better for me

Would certainly rather have the bezels of the edge than the iphone on experience so far

I'm having inconsistent battery life also with my exynos S7, around 3-4.5 hours sot. Sometimes I'm on 3 hours sot with 50% left, but only get 1.5 hours sot in the next 50%. Other times it's down to 50% with 1 hour sot, but survived another 2.5 hour sot in the next 50%.

I've seen some people at xda getting more than 6 hours sot with custom rom or battery saver tweaks. Will try that someday.

On the battery life subject im not a big SOT person due to my usage patterns but i usually get around 2 full days off the plug before i need to charge with around 3 hours SOT on the regular S7.

Anybody here leave screen on display on? Haven't switched it off so maybe might be worth doing
I have it on all the time since day one. No issues here. It really doesn't consume that much battery. Maybe I could get a half hour more without it. But eh, that's no big deal to me.

Have you tried clearing your cache in recovery? That's usually my go to move in regards to troubleshooting abnormal battery drain.

Yes this may help.

But also - you have an absolute **** ton of notifications in your status bar which makes me suspect doze / sleep isn't working properly. Some app seems to be keeping it awake, preventing proper sleep / doze. (A wakelock)

Where do I go to clear the cache guys? Yeah I get a lot of notifications during the night due to basketball

How to enter the Galaxy S7 recovery mode

Switch your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge completely.

Boot into Galaxy S7 recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power keys at the same time.

Release all three buttons when Samsung Galaxy S7 screen flickers and you see a warning sign.

Press Volume Up to continue to the main screen of Recovery mode. Or, press Volume Down if you aren’t sure and want to go back to the normal mode.

You are now in the Galaxy S7 recovery mode, aka download mode. When you want to switch back to the normal mode, you can simply use the Reboot option. At any time, you can also exit the Download Mode by pressing the Power button for about ten seconds. This trick also works in cases when your device gets stuck while you are in the Download Mode.
