This is so true. Whats the big deal about iMessage as text options are unlimited on almost every single carrier now a days and its a blue bubble versus a green one. What am I missing here? I can still send pics and videos easily to my wife who is on iOS and I am on the S7E.

I always thought this would be a factor but it really isn't and hard to understand others that say it is at this point but I am probably missing something.
I think it's because if you also have a Mac/ipad you will get your texts there. Even though this is part of continuity, it started as imessage only so they probably associate it this feature with that.

The other advantage of imessage over regular sms is you get full quality video messages as opposed to the super compressed ones you get with MMS. Though most people just think iPhone is better at MMS and don't notice the videos are being sent as imessage.

Very good point and yes I did miss this as I did text from my Mac but it wasn't a big deal as my phone is always with me.

I do miss my AppleWatch a lot though. Not even because of it being specifically the device but the actual benefits I got from it. Holding out on an Android device as I heard there is a Google event and want to see what comes of it.

Even though the Huawei watch is at a significant discount right now and heard its one of the best.

I message has become less of an issue as with screen on display it tells me if I've missed a text.love this feature

Huawei Watch is very nice, Android Wear less ready for prime time, IMO. I put mine away and switched back to my Apple Watch/iPhone combo because of a few issues in how Android Wear functions. I'm going to hold onto it though as I'm hoping for some significant Android Wear changes announced at I/O and it really is the best looking smart watch available right now.

For me I need the bare necessities.

Notifications
Phone calls on my wrist (I have upstairs/downstairs and love taking calls on my wrist, especially while cooking)
Fitness tracking
Nice enough device to work in my business first type environment at work

I think the Huawei watch checks those off but not sure how well and interested to see if another price drop occurs after Google I/O if at all.

It does this fairly well, though there is little granular control, even less that offered by the Apple Watch.

Phone calls on my wrist (I have upstairs/downstairs and love taking calls on my wrist, especially while cooking)

Must have for me as well. The speaker and microphone aren't as good as the Apple Watch, probably due to their location under where the bands meet the watch. Wifi calling on AT&T also meant I got calls when my phone was out of range.

Fitness tracking

Didn't dive much into this. I'm interested as well but didn't have a chance to explore what's available due to other limitations that I couldn't live with.

This it does quite well. Of course, design preference is subjective but I think most would agree that this is a beautiful device.

Without hijacking the thread entirely (I'll try to post more detail over in the 'Best Android Wear' thread recently created), the deal breakers for me were:

- I couldn't use the bluetooth in my car for phone calls when this feature is enable on the watch. (this one alone pretty much enough of a deal breaker). It would only have one or the other, not both options.
- Voice activating Google Now on the watch did not stop it from also happening on my phone, meaning I had to disable 'always listening' on the phone. I could have tolerated this if the same voice initiated requests I make all the time could be completed via the Watch...but many can't (adding items to Google Keep lists). And as I create a lot of reminders, Google burying them inside Google Now is also a P.I.T.A.
- Google Now cards often just don't dismiss--keep getting the same one's popping up throughout the day even after dismissing them.

There are additional lesser issues I had and definitely some good elements (always on display is nice as are some of the navigation gestures).

Like I said, I'll try to post a more detailed summary of my time using it on the other thread. Best advice, buy it from Amazon (if still on sale) as they give you a 30 day return window and give it a test drive for yourself.

This is great feedback as I was just getting ready to go this weekend and take a look at Best Buy in person in how it looked and felt and give it a test drive.

Thank you again for this real world feedback as I miss my AppleWatch immensely but love my S7E that much that I won't go back...yet

Is there an option on Nova to remove app drawer and put all apps on homescreen like on TW launcher?

There's not an option, but it can be done. Pretty much, you can remove the app drawer icon from the home screen (same way as you would with an app or widget). As for moving all your apps, that has to be done manually. Sorry.

it's what I've got going on on my phone. Honestly, it's pretty convenient.

Couldn't fight the urge. Pulled a trigger on the S7. I really hope I'll like it. Crossing my fingers that the DAC weakness isn't TOO noticeable compared to my 6S.

Man I love that always on screen, not enough to pry me from my iPhone but I love that feature. It's a petty thing but android apps still look less polished then iOS equivalents.

I have the edge version and haven't found a reason why it's convenient or what added benefit it brings to the table.

To see the clock all the time? Not enough for me.

I use the led notification as my alert mechanism. And until an always on screen can function like iOS quick reply I just turn it off.

I Think it's great personally, it allows me to see any missed calls or texts and it's good to see the time at certain times and it is great as a night clock. I don't need to keep waking my phone to see texts which is handy to me. It uses it's purpose.

I have AOD turned off. It just doesn't do enough for me. Now if it let me interact with the notifications that might be different.

In regards to the Always on Display feature...

See, folks? New features don't have to alienate or ruin the original experience. As demonstrated by these recent posts, if you like AoD, you use it. If not, you don't.

Simple as that! There's no reason anyone should fear new features as long as they're well implemented and can do its best to cater to different user preferences (customization!).

That's why I'm happy to say, I have mine turned off. :) I don't find much use out of it either. I prefer the notification light. But all the power to those that do find use!

Better than mine bit yesterday was my best yet.

I'm still very happy with my battery life. It lasts me throughout a day for sure.

I have display screen on but will test battery life tomorrow with it switched off

This is how I felt at first. But I've had it on for several weeks now and I like it. It's not necessary, but occasionally if I ignore a text or missing call, Always On does a great job at reminding me. Sometimes I look past the notification light, cause I'm so used to it. Also, the "Keep screen turned off" option turns off Always On when it's in your pocket or bag, so battery drain becomes even less than the claimed 1% per hour.

I hope to see an improvement with Always On with the Note 6. I want more options to choose from, and the choice to select specific app notifications. Not interested in any type of interaction, that's what the lockscreen is for.

Not really on topic, but I really like the notification LED. I didn't think I would, because I had a bad experience with the super-bright LED which I couldn't disable on my BlackBerry Z10, but I really like this one. I like the fact that it's colour coded, so you know which app you have a notification from.

Hey guys, couple of impressions and questions...
Does anybody find scrolling on a text heavy site a bit choppy? Using chrome.
The photos app is not showing my google drive photos even though I enabled it
The hangouts app for some reason is not showing the photos in the "cloud" in my photos app. When I went to send a photo via hangouts, only the photos I took from the actual phone show up. If I want to send a photo thats in my photos app via hangouts I have to go to the app, select the photo and click share through hangouts.
Speakers have a bit of tinniness in comparison to the iphones speaker
Apple Music has a loading screen on the phone which is a bit irritating. Im sure the google music app doesnt but its too hard to move my whole collection to google music at this point.
Front camera is extremely soft. Its like beauty mode is on 24/7.

Unrelated question, can you do quick reply(sms) from the lock screen with the S7/Touchwiz?

I think you can but you have to have Google now as your launcher. Then the notification cards pop up even if the screen is off. Then you slide the card to interact with it.

Totally agree with you. Coming from an iPhone and AW combo I would enjoy the notification on my watch and interact there or grab my phone and interact as needed on it. With the LED its a subtle little reminder of certain things going on. Especially in meetings at work where my screen doesn't wake up but I know I have a notification there of some sort.
