Seriously? Samsung got the July security update out before the Nexus 5x got it?

Assuming this will turn into a class action lawsuit? A $800 phone that isn't even waterproof as advertised, and you will get your claim denied for water damage because it is not covered by warranty.

Yes, I know that the 5X OTAs are out already, but I'm getting screwed by this staggered rollout. I'm not exactly getting the full Nexus advantage when even Samsung devices are occasionally more up to date than my Nexus :p

That's what I thought. Same as when Samsung release security updates it doesn't mean all the carriers roll them at at the same time. As much as Samsung gets dinged for slow updates they got it right this time.

The same in that you can sideload those OTAs on your Samsung?

It may be available that first week, but it doesn't appear as an OTA on Nexus phones for up to a few weeks.

My S7 is waterproof. I've used it in the pool, hot tub, shower, and washed it and haven't had a single problem.

I hope the S7 Exynos model drops in price to about $400 new. I sold my Snapdragon Edge to get a Note 7/Nexus/iPhone.

I will likely never own a Note, but even I'm excited to see what Samsung reveals. If anything, it points to what the S8/Edge might be like.

Yeah well when something is available online before it comes to your local store, and you really want it, you just get it online.

And you using the S7 in those conditions confirms what the article says.

Does anyone use an Exynos S7 on T-Mobile USA's network? Does it have VoLTE and Samsung Pay? I can do without wifi calling now since I only use it on my iPhone but it's normally pretty eh.

No and no. I think you can get samsung pay if you root and flash.

Yikes, there goes my plan for an Exynos S7. I don't want to give up VoLTE. Why does Samsung overcomplicate stuff by making the Exynos international only and provide no warranty coverage to US purchasers?

I am not a fan of spending $670 for a regular unlocked S7 Snapdragon model. $400-$450 is stretching it. If the Note 7 isn't as good as it is hyped to be, I'll get a regular S7 since I want to keep a Samsung. Thing is that I have to decide what I will do once I sell my iPhone.

I'll be putting it up for sale in the next couple of weeks and use a Nexus 5X until I see the Note 7. I might hold off until the Nexus and iPhone 7+ too. Maybe I'll go SE and Nexus 6P if I can't find anything good because two decently priced phones > one overpriced flagship.

I'll see. If it's $800 with 4GB of RAM, then I'll pass. I had the retina scanner on my old Surface Pro 4. It's not a huge deal. I was dangerously close to purchasing a One Plus 3 last night.

I think I'm going to pass if the base model isn't 64gb internal.

Even with a SD slot?

Yea, On my S7 edge. Too many of my apps can't be moved to external, and Oculus and it's apps are taking up plenty of space. I only have 3gb left of internal space.

But I'll see with the Note 7. It might not be compatible with the Oculus, which is fine with me as I plan on keeping the S7 edge. But I still prefer 64gb.

That's a Samsung issue that needs to be rectified in Android N. Can't be taking adopted storage out again. My cousin doesn't want Samsung devices after the Note 3 he has doesn't offer smart lock on lollipop. He is going with pure android this time by. I want a Samsung device as my next phone since I have the VR set, enjoy their UI, and enjoy their hardware advantages.
