Jamerz, now that you've had it for a while, any more you can say on whether the finger print scanner got better or not?

They got you like they got me :D

Samsung deserves my money this year.

I really don't see how HTC or Motorola, possibly even Apple, can top them. I can't foresee anybody that'll top their display, camera (iPhone has the best chance in this area), or battery. And all in such a gorgeously compact package. Plus waterproofing.

Add me to the club.

Black Edge... Should be here on the 8th along with the bundled VR. Do us UK users get any other "freebies" discount codes etc?

Also any word on Samsung pay in the UK yet? I recall rumours about it launching alongside the S7/Edge. Not sure how true that is mind.

It remains to be seen but while I do agree I am on the sidelines. I don't mind waiting until the others come out (Lg G5, HTC One M10, Oneplus 3, etc.). Ain't like everything else I own are suddenly bad smartphones besides.

The FP is about the same maybe a little faster. The problem Samsung has is the shape of the FP scanner. I think round is better like on my iphone or the Nexus 6P. Anyway that's my 2cents.
It reads my fingerprint almost 100% of the time. But because of the shape I have to hold it over it more precisely. If that makes sense. It is a definite step up from the N5.

LG G5: Pass, 2800 mAh on 5.3" QHD display? Has GS6 written all over it. Plus the modules will set you back a little.

M10: Wouldn't hold my breath. HTC may have clean software and faster updates than their other OEM skinned devices, but they are generic and don't differentiate themselves enough. Dual speakers lost their luster. Their body design is old too. I liked the M9, but it didn't scream "must own."

Oneplus 3: No NFC, no buy, simple as that. Cannot have one of the most basic features cut out because it means less mobile payment options.

Absolutely. Still very interested to see how HTC turns their ship around (is the Nexus 2016 a lifeline from Google?). Interested in whether Apple steps up and brings their A-game to the table. Interested to see what Lenovo/Motorola will do this year.

Still, I like that Samsung set the bar high for the year.

It is a significant difference from my s6 Edge+! I have had zero issues with my s7 edge FP scanner and is is def quicker than my old Edge+!

I wonder why they dont use the same tech or better than the nexus fp scanner. Samsung 9s hardware leading, why not on the fp scanner

We all pretty much know what is what comparing devices but I still like checking them out even if they would not be my top choices.

I think it is because of the lawsuits. I am sure they would go with a round FP scanner if they could as that is more ergonomic and allows a better FP read.

Pre-ordered! Silver S7 Edge.

Free overnight shipping too. Can't wait.
Good choice. I have gotten quite a few compliments from people so far on the silver color. It kind of looks white in the front in certain light and kind of like airplain metal on the back with my clear spigen case.
Hard to describe but I'm very impressed with the coloring.

I got the clear version. Love that it shows off the silver of the phone.

Some lucky sods here in Sweden have already gotten theirs. I'm hoping mine arrives early next week, my carrier is stating deliveries will begin on the 7th.

Yeah here in Ireland they are saying despatch on 7th with delivery for the 8th.

Not sure if it's Samsung who are handling these pre-orders or not, as there seems to be a huge amount of effort going in to centralise the delivery of the pre-orders the 3 days before store launches.

The most interesting tear down from Chipworks.

Samsung has had the best touch screen sensitivity which helps a lot for things like gaming that requires constant contact since you can use your fingernail that doesn't drag like with skin contact especially with moisture. Now, that Samsung is using their own touch controller I hope it doesn't change that. Can someone test if fingernail still work with something like Sky Force 2014?

Buying the S7 Edge shows how little regard I have for the G5 or M10 lol. A lot of people aren't waiting for those devices since Samsung is pushing their phones between now and the 11th. April and May are windows for the other aforementioned competitors. I am cool w/ you looking at other products, but I am just saying I wouldn't get too many hopes up.

I think I'll give one of these a shot. I like dry-apply screen protectors. The irony cause the S7E is waterproof. Heh.

If i'm gonna get a wet-install one, I'll go with XtremeGuard once they get their S7E protectors.

Went w/ Xtreme Guard already for my Edge. It's the cheap one, but temporary. 6 pack cost me $2 or $3. Going for the Zagg Tempered Glass when it comes out. My Spigen Case should come in tomorrow.

Xtreme guard has s7 edge screen protectors already? I couldn't find it earlier. Only saw one for the s7. Can you link?
