How about this plus a few other sites that I couldn't be bothered to copy: http://www.technobuffalo.com/2015/11/03/galaxy-s7-camera-specs-features-rumors/

A 12MP camera wouldn't be going backwards. It would be the opposite. Especially if they put that 1/2" sensor, it would be a beast of a camera, because the pixels would be about 1.8μm as opposed to the mere 1μm that they are now. Plus, who needs more than 12MP anyway?

I'd prefer this direction as well. I'd rather have a larger sensor with bigger pixels any day over a higher number of smaller pixels. Now if they went with fewer pixels of the same size, that wouldn't make sense.

We will see how it turns out in no time. But more MP would be great for me. I do a lot out hiking in the mountains with wide open spaces. It would be nice to be able to take some pics then crop or resize them later once I get home. More Mp will let me do that. But i agree that just more MP alone does not mean good pics.

That wouldn't happen, because that would mean a smaller sensor, and I don't really see that happening. And the rumours are of a 1/2" sensor, as opposed to the 1/2.6" sensor in the S6. I just hope they use the extra space wisely.

So, so far we've seen 5.1, 5.2, 5.5, 5.8 and 6-inch leaks. I'm still sticking with the 5.1 and 6-inch variants.

Too many leaks, not too many ideas on a release date, not too much to think except that we will find out soon.

Meh... still haven't seen anything compelling with the S7. No higher res display, slightly improved camera, slightly improved processor. Waiting for UHD AMOLED screens.

Verge reporting that the water resistance feature might come back to the S7.[/QUOTE said:
That better not mean another poorly designed port cover that will loosen and fall off over time like the Galaxy S5.

You're in the minority I'm afraid. For most people, that's pretty much what they want in those areas. Most are waiting for improvements in other areas.
Although UHD would make a huge difference in VR. Not too sure that the compromise is worth it though.

It's looking like you might be right about the 12MP camera on the S7. I have seen more and more sources reporting it. :)

If they go 12 with bigger pixels and the improvement to low light shots is significant, I won't mind the hit to the megapixel count and cropping flexibility. Otherwise it'll be a disappointment to me. Either way, I've got confidence Sammy knows what they are doing.

They might have a PR issue as most will not get the difference. They will only see going from 16 to 12 as a downgrade. The general public might not get it that the sensor has been improved.

Hopefully by fall it comes out. That would be worth upgrading to in my opinion.

There could be some marketing technique that convinces the public that the change is indeed for the better. I really hate it anyway when a company does something for the sake of marketing but has a negative impact on the phone. They should really prioritise the quality of the phone.

I think bringing back the micro SD expansion and the waterproofing is a big step in the right direction. The resolution of the screen is already high enough on a device which is 5-5.2 inches. An improved camera is always welcome.

http://venturebeat.com/2016/01/04/s...icrosd-water-resistance-and-larger-batteries/

So, we already had information from WSJ and Venturebeats. Almost certain at this time

1. No camera bump
2. Pressure sensitive screen
3. Water resistant
4. Larger batteries
5. Improved low light camera
6. Different sizes for regular and Edge version.

According to multiple rumours and screen-capture recently reported, sensor is a 1/2-inch, f/1.7 12MP. That should be very good, IMO the best camera setup among any existing cameras.

Battery increased to 3000mAh for normal, 3600mAh for Edge version. Edge version could be like 5.5/5.7 inch. MicroSD makes a return. Looks like a solid device so far.

The S7 is shaping up to be a beast of a phone! Now we have to wait MWC in late Feb for the official unveiling....argh!
Seems so far away.....

What about the 6-inch Plus variant? Was leaked by OnLeaks, and I don't think that I've ever known him to be wrong. And also the camera bump is likely, with that 1/2" sensor, I'd say it's a given.
But apart from that, it seems legitimate. With circa 1.8μm, an ƒ/1.7 aperture and OIS, this thing could just be a potential DSLR replacement. I still would have liked the Edge variants to be the same sizes as the normal ones. Would have made a lot more sense. And waterproofing should be a welcome change. I was hoping that it could come to the Note 5, but I was disappointed.

No idea, I doubt this would be the case. 6-inch seems like too big a jump for S-devices. They didn't increase the Note size last year, so I doubt they would release a flagship with such a big display this time. They did release A9 with 6-inch display. Maybe we will wait to see how much popularity that gains before releasing something on S-line later.

I am also very excited for the new camera module. 1.8μm, an ƒ/1.7 aperture and OIS sound like lot of fun to me!

I think it means that there will be two variants? The regular sized one 5-5.2 inches and then a larger one like the Nexus line this year or the iPhone and iPhone plus. If this is the case I wonder about he future of the note. They seem to be moving away from it. They didn't release the note 5 in Europe last year. I wonder if they plan on doing away with it all together.

I think we will see variants - regular around 5.1/5.2, Edge might be 5.5/5.7
I am sure Note line would continue. I see no reason to forget that, afterall that's the most premium product in Samsung's lineup. And with reducing margins, they can't afford to let go such a highly popular premium device. Though it might mean that the Note line will mostly be a slightly larger S-device with S-Pen. This will reduce the cost of development.

Best Buy eventually sells Samsung devices unlocked, right? Completely contract free and at retail price?

If the S7 deliver, that'll be my avenue.

What I'm reading sounds almost too good to be true.

Wouldn't say no to SD card slot, water resistance, a bigger battery, lighter TW, and an even better camera (given how good this year's was...well IMX at least).

Smaller camera bump and 3D touch would be a bonus.

Feel like somethings gotta disappoint somehow.phttp://

As long as I can use my current cases with it and it has a micro SD slot, I'm good.

A bonus for me would be if it came in a purple color option.
