Strangely there's a discrepancy from what your card says U1 and SanDisk website.

If its the same, Yes you will. It's offering great speeds if it's same one but as I say I am concerned with the discrepancy here..

It has read speed of 95mb and a write of upto 90mb too.

They even advertise the extreme plus for doing 4K themselves.

https://www.sandisk.com/home/memory-cards/microsd-cards/extremeplus-microsd

So enjoy; unless the card is not officially a SanDisk. Sadly there are copeous amount of copies. Download the android app SD Insight and it will confirm legitimacy of the card. Fingers crossed but I am concerned that you have their fastest micro SD and yours says U1 which it should not.

If its just an older variant then u1 means it has a minimum write of 10mb whereas a u3 has a minimum of 30mb (25mb recommended for 4K) - however as your card has a theoretical write of 90mb, it's average may be much less in practice but still more than enough for 4K. I think this one is going to rely on experimentation to see. Fingers crossed.

Giving the Samsung browser a go for a change.

Quite liking it so far. Would prefer to use Chrome but love how you can add Adblock and log into sites using the finger print scanner.

Not sure if I can go back to chrome and the ads now.

I actually disabled Chrome. Couldn't disable Internet without package disabler app and didn't want to go down that route fresh out of box, so opted to just keep Internet instead.

The last Samsung phone I had was the S3. Once I went 'pure Android' I swore is never go back to touch wiz.

But the S7 is the best phone I've ever had by a long way. I don't think I can fault it at all.

And touch wiz is fantastic - not as childish as it used to be. It's very clean and sophisticated.

The phone is the perfect size and weight, fast, beautiful screen. Camera is amazing.

And even little things like S Planner is really, really good. It's the calendar app I've been looking for for years but never found.

Excellent phone. Highly recommended.

Yep.

You can have widgets and you can arrange icons anywhere you see fit, it's just that there is no app drawer.

I haven't decided whether I prefer standard app drawer arrangement though.

And the battery is very good. I'm at 78% remaining and have over 2 hours SOT

How came all your apps look different/old?

I'm official back ordered. I snoozed, I lose.
I ordered on the 6th, received yesterday. Surprised you're back ordered.

Think I might need to visit the Samsung store in highcross and check out the edge. Tempted to have one as my 2nd phone but it's a lot of money to spend. Will take a look though

The always on is a bit limited ie just sms and missed calls, thought it would do emails too from stock apps, but I like that it dims in the pocket

Was pleasantly surprised the edge allows folders thought you would be just limited to the 10 icon spaces

I agree. It's nowhere near as good as Moto Active Display.

But I ultimately turned it off because of how the clock adjusts its position on the screen. I appreciate it doesn't want to risk burning-in, but the sudden change of position every minute or so kept getting my attention. It got annoying!

Does the rest of the ui look oversized like the stock icons?
[doublepost=1457526456][/doublepost]Without causing a war, has anybody coming from a 6s plus any thoughts on how they compare? Thanks

Settings menu is pretty big with the default theme.

I changed the grid size to 4x5 on the home screen. Makes the icons look much better (and smaller) in my opinion.

I gave up on my battery test and shut off saver half way through because my add blocker would not work when it was on.

I still got 7 hours screen time but I'm having the Android system drain issue also and it ate up 20% battery life.it's all from com.afw
Qualcomm service and I shut it down with package Disabler.

I would assume exynos phones don't use this and it has something to do with wifi mirracast and is a snapdragon driver.

Early reports are saying preorders in south Korea are weaker than preorders for the s6.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sams...-apparently-not-so-hot-in-South-Korea_id79122

Maybe because of the mere refinement in design?

Maybe because of competing mid and low range phones?

Either way, I've always said it's a bit of a shame that Samsung devices don't often sell "well" despite being leading class in many fronts.

The money doesn't always go to the best.

I got to wait for some Verizon tests to see if there is a problem on those with changing the screen mode and it not holding as well for games at least at this point. It looks like the T-mobile variants are fine.

I already told the Samsung folks at BB day one about what was happening but they could not push the issue because the smartphones were on display and not released. NOW they have been released so if there is an issue I will definitely start throwing my weight around! :)

Still working through the device, posted some thoughts a few pages back regarding battery life. The screen and ergonomics are marvelous, the camera is a good (not huge) leap over the 6s plus (given the 6 month lead I'd expect some improvement). Battery is my biggest concern still despite it being better than other android devices I've used, still not doing what my plus can handle. And then it's personal re: Android vs iOS. Not sure if I'll stick with it but still the most enjoyable Android phone I've used so far. My plus is so dependable though, not sure I can give it up.

And I keep forgetting to mention that when I am browsing in Chrome that there are green lines or maybe just reflections running down on both sides of the screen right next to each edge. Pretty noticeable to tell the truth.

Now sure if would be different with any other browser.

While I respect Mossberg for his contributions in the tech journalism, he is a self proclaimed Apple aficionado. There isn't a single time where he can't help but bring up Apple in any conversation, even when it's a category that has nothing to do with Apple.

Obviously. I personally can't stand his reviews. He looks at tech like my 70 year old Dad. But iPhone fans love him for sucking Apple's teet. Which is why a glowing review from him is actually pretty important for Samsung to get converts. And it does seem almost every mainstream reviewer got the Verizon version, which is a real shame. Because they have to get through all the bloat setup mess. And coming from an iPhone, that is jarring.

More of Verizon's stupid demands causing confusion:

Samsung, time to sell a non-Carrier phone. You are getting rich as hell off this release. Step up.

First Impressions.

- Feels and looks great!
- Phone did lag on initial setup (restoring backups, installing apps, etc) and it also got very warm--since then, no lag.
- I disabled some bloatware so still don’t have a clue how the battery will hold up compared to my Note 5.
- Speaking of the Note 5, I do miss the phablet. I’ve just gotten so used to that screen size so whenever I get a smaller device, it just feels… weird.

As of right now, I’m undecided whether I like it or not. TMO gives me 14 days so I have some time to test drive.
