You are the only person so far that I know of on the forum that has the AT&T variant. As a test would you please select "basic" in screen mode option and try running Subway Surfers or Temple Run and see if it would run that way instead of changing it almost immediately in the game back to adaptive.

Thanks in advance.
Have you checked XDA for this issue? You could probably get some help there as well.

Change your display resolution to 1080p if you want 20 hours of screen on time and compare equally with the iPhone. It is easy to get longer battery life when your display resolution is mediocre. Why do you think Apple only allows the 6s to have a 750p resolution. If they put a 1080p resolution on it with that tiny battery, you would be lucky to see 3 hours of SOT. Likewise, if the 6s+ had a 1440p screen, you would watch SOT plummet.

I easily get 6 hours of SOT in all LTE mode taking videos and hundreds of pics. I posted a screenshot a few pages back.

I would love a feature allowing you to downscale res in return for battery/performance. I would prefer that over traditional battery saver modes for sure. I still use 1080p screens on my computers :p

For you guys that used the little dongle to transfer between the S7 and iPhone, did it transfer your iMessages too?

Anybody using or tried the non app drawer touchwiz ? It's not too bad in usage.

I am waiting for someone to bring it up, do not want to start up a concern there without more testing first. Most do not even have that variant yet.

Can you still have home screens and widgets? Are the icons just paginated to the right of all your home screens?
Yep.

You can have widgets and you can arrange icons anywhere you see fit, it's just that there is no app drawer.

I haven't decided whether I prefer standard app drawer arrangement though.

And the battery is very good. I'm at 78% remaining and have over 2 hours SOT

For those upgrading with TMO, did you activate the Sim it came with or just popped in the old one?

@jamezr I know you're on JoD, is it best to activate new sim or use old Sim?

You can, but it requires rooting... Unfortunately.

Old sim. No issues.

Wow. Am I right you're on the exynos processor? Wonder if it's more efficient.

Old sim. Same w/ my dad's GS7 Edge since he has JoD. I bought mine outright.

How do you do this? Im completely new to Android and I need this. I come from iPhone so the whole app drawer drives me crazy. Thanks.

Samsung also isolated its fanbase last year going for fashion ....... Note 5 became the worst edition of the Note line.
For what it's worth, I had Note 3 and 4 and now use a Note 5.
The 5 is by far the better phone (into of course), battery hasn't been an issue, it feels solid, both 3 and 4 used to creak, camera is better, I have a VR headset that is affordable. I don't really miss SD but they are handy. I have a otg stick on my keyring if I really need to shuffle files around.
I miss the IR blaster though, I understand bugger all people used it, but I used it all the time....

I'm skipping s7 (so tempting) and waiting for the Note 6.

Hope it's a beast.

Samsung seriously needs to ban Verizon from touching these phones. The more I read the latest reviews, my view is totally changed (and I think it is due to buggy pre-release software with initial impressions). The performance on this phone is outstanding. Mostly near perfect so far. But when is this kind of **** going to stop???

You shouldn't be sold any sort of extras or bloat when paying $800 for a phone. Make a bloat version for cheaper possibly if the carriers want. But quit tarnishing a phone that truly is the best out there right now.
While I respect Mossberg for his contributions in the tech journalism, he is a self proclaimed Apple aficionado. There isn't a single time where he can't help but bring up Apple in any conversation, even when it's a category that has nothing to do with Apple. That being said, he's nothing like Rene Ritchie from imore. Whenever a new phone comes out you can always expect to see 10 articles telling people to wait for the iPhone because it will be better.

With that said, I do agree about the bloat and how it can be both daunting and confusing for someone transitioning from a device that has what I called streamlined bloat like the iPhone.

2014 - Samsung Galaxy S5 was the pinnacle for features only maligned by ugly design.

2015 - Samsung reinvented itself with design but omitted three useful features. Experimental year for Samsung and a disappointment from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810.

2016 - Samsung brought back two of the three omissions of the S6.

2017 - Samsung brings back removable battery to the S line?

It only takes about three generations or more to get things right. The Samsung Galaxy S8 edge should be the one to merge the S5 features with the improved designs schemes we see from 2015 and 2016.

2017 should be a banner year - S8 edge vs iPhone 7s. I don't care of design. It isn't top 3 priority. But Samsung might nail everything right next year with the S8 edge.

Beautiful design
More compact design than the Note
Great OLED display (pls keep it no higher than QHD)
Great camera
Longer battery (and hopefully removable)
Micro-sd slot
Water-resistant
Fast charging

2017 will be iPhone's 10 year anniversary and the original iPhone was the best smartphone of 00's decade for being the gamechanger. I always go for the "s" models because I prefer stronger internals of the same design. So people showing off their new iPhone 7 for a year don't bother me because the buyers are just guinea pigs to the new design. Give me the stronger twin. I think S8 edge will be the best edition of its series before Samsung gets experimental again with 4K displays with substandard battery capacity by 2018-2019. The same issues LG experienced trying to spearhead the G3 with a QHD display and 3000 mAh batt in 2014.

What do you all recommend to transfer music from the iphone/itunes to the S7?

I've heard recommendations on using isyncr and google music... Any preference towards either of them?
Thanks!

Rene Ritchie.... That guy is ridiculous. I gave up imore a good while ago, largely due to his articles. They are so blatantly biased even die hard appe fans should cringe.

I highly doubt Samsung will bring back the removable battery ever again. But if by slim chance they do, it will most likely be done similar to how the G5 battery is removed.

Not only has Verizon removed Internet app, they've removed Samsung Pay.

In return, I've removed Verizon (from my life) and have ordered the S7 on T-Mobile's JOD.

Bahaha, Verizon's decisions are unfathomable and ridiculous.

Using iSyncr right now, to transfer my music to the SD card.
