At least they did not show him categorically die. Maybe he slid down with the debris and landed on top. ;)

I agree with your interpretation of 1, although I think it was executed in a manner to make the audience feel like a killing blow was to follow that nod. :)

Hahaha, there was a Buzz Feed post from a "live blog", and the the comment on that scene was RUN, YOU GLORIOUS GINGER BASTARD!! :D

I was actually waiting for Jamie to bite it, that scene was _nerve_wracking_.

Phenomenal episode on many levels. Cersei seems like she's surprising you and then you discover she's just doing the same old thing. I was sure Jaime was a gonner for a few minutes.

Euron's got to go. The Mountain's got to go. We need a list to keep track of the people on Arya's list!

WHERE'S TORMUND :'(

As we watched THE WALL come tumblin' down, my only thoughts were "please, please let Tormund make it out so he can woo and win Brienne and make big beautiful babies.

6. My wife read an article that called the incestual sex scene a new low for GOT. While titilating for the audience it does not count because only few at this point, certainly not the participants know the truth.

Whoever wrote the article had obviously not read the books. The Targaryans are incestuous, and always and purposefully mated siblings. An aunt/nephew barely qualifies for House Targaryan.

Incest was the way of royalty for ages before the dangers of inbreeding was understood. My wife who has been researching her ancestry for several years now sees evidence that incest was not uncommon in her expanded tree (West Virginia) in rural areas with small populations.

4. How did Tyrion survive his audience with Cersei? Maybe it was his recognition that she's pregnant (assuming that's true).

I am pretty sure Cersei isn't actually pregnant. It was just a way to manipulate Jamie, and later Tyrion.

Remember her prophecy, that she would have three children and all three would die. So far it has come true.

Either she isn't really pregnant, or if she is pregnant, she will die before giving birth. Which relates to the next prophecy...

Cercei will be choked to death by "Valonqar," which means little brother. I think she has always assumed it would be Tyrion, but with the way they parted, Jamie seems like a candidate now.

Some crazy theories also speculate that Cercei will be killed by Jamie, come back to life as a re-animated wight, and then be killed by Tyrion. Or vice-versa.

5. Glad that Littlefinger finally got his due, thanks to Bran informing his sisters, even though the ruse was a bit obvious.
The beauty of that part IMO is that Bran had nothing to do with unmasking Littlefinger's plots, he only confirmed events. We've learned through the Sam scene that Bran isn't fully omniscient. It's only if he is told of a past event that he then searches it out. This means Sansa simply followed Littlefinger's own advice and applied it to his own machinations, then before the Great Hall scene asked Bran to confirm some of her suspicions. Littlefinger finally went too far, and Sansa saw him for what he was.

Good episode, but as others have said felt a little rushed, especially the destruction of Eastwatch.
My take was that Tormund was on top of part of the wall that didn't collapse.

So glad the Stark girls finally gave Littlefinger the finger! It was about time.
Of course now we know Jon Snow is not a Stark, sounds like Lady of Winterfell will end up being queen of the north eventually.

But 2019 is soooo long to wait to see what happens next. :(

That's been the circulating rumor, but there's been no official announcement from HBO yet. Based on an interview with D&D and an HBO exec a few months ago, people are speculating late 2018 or early 2019. However, if production schedules follow those for season 7 (which started later than previous years to be able to film in winter), we might even get season 8 as early as July 2018.

ICE DRAGON FTW!!! (I what the Night King planned to do about the wall without it?)

Also liked how Danys hair was always strategically positioned to cover up the 3rd dragon on her badge.

This season ticked a lot of boxes, and there were a lot of fan pleasing moments. I found it enjoyable and devoured every moment of it. But it's hard to deny that we've moved away from the meticulous, slow burning Game of Thrones we started with. When we're given too much all at once, what would have been big events feel small.

The season was fun. Not sure if it was very good though...

8. It breathes cold which condenses water into projected ice. (Link)
We don’t know exactly what it breathes, but Viserion surely is not an ice dragon. At least not the same as the ice dragons in your link. Viserion is simply a "normal" dragon reanimated.

I don’t know how it’s able to breathe anything at all, to be honest, because of where the spear hit. Also have no idea why its wings had so many holes in it.

One other thought I had. Benjen is obviously a wight now. I wonder would he become a ‘double agent’ within the army of the dead and manage to kill the night king with a Valyrian steel sword.
[doublepost=1503995303][/doublepost]I keep having random thoughts about GoT. When Sandor Clegane looked into the fire and saw Eastwatch by the sea and thousands of the dead marching past, I find it interesting that he didn’t see the dragon.

I read it that way, too. Clearly, we were meant to think that Jamie was about to be killed. I'm glad he wasn't. Jamie has become one of the more interesting characters as he's moved along a path of redemption. Where does he go now? Surely he's no longer in command of the Lannister army after his run-in with Cersei. Does he head north?

7. Cleganebowl is a promise now!

I hope so. The Hound is another one of my favorites. I love his standard answer to everyone: "F off!" I also liked his dialog with Brienne about Arya. I hope they get to meet back at Winterfell.

Agree. And I don't see how anyone could argue that it was lower than Jamie and Cersei in season 1. And I think that more people were disturbed by Sansa and Ramsay, who were technically married and otherwise unrelated.

For the purposes of the TV show, unless more appear, this seems to be what they've given us as an ice dragon.

IT'S ALL SPOILERS HERE, UNLESS YOU'RE UP TO DATE.

Loved the last episode of this season. Lots of nice moments. Littlefinger's comeuppance. Sandor Clegane and Brienne discussing the Stark girls. Bron taking Podrick for a drink while the queens and lords discuss politics. The undead ice dragon in action, a Tyrion v Cersei audience, Jamie being told off by Brienne, and trying to reason with Cersei. Jon getting together with Dany. Some great lines by Tyrion. All good stuff.

Couple of points:
Someone in this thread has said 'now that Jon's not a Stark'. That's not right. He is still a Stark; by birth, on his mother's side.

Anyone else think Jamie is torn between two women? Cersei has his heart (if not his desire), but Brienne seems to have his soul. Really like that. The chapters in the book dealing with Brienne taking Jamie back to Kings Landing are brilliant too, as we get to see both sides's perspectives. I like how they've continued that plot line in the post-book era.

Speculation:
I think Jamie's going North, to keep his word. Have to wonder how he's going to be received though. When he pushed Bran off the walls of Winterfell in Episode 1, Season 1, Bran didn't know who he was. I'm sure he'll know now though. If Arya get's wind of it, I would be surprised if she didn't add him to her list, and deal with him quite promptly.

I think Cersei is pregnant, but I suspect it's Euron's child. To discuss the plan whereby he pretends to flee to the Iron Islands, he and Cersei must have had a meeting. We also know that Cersei believes a woman's most powerful weapon is 'between her legs' (from her advice to Sansa, when she as at King's Landing). He's made himself look weak, fearful and foolish by so easily fleeing Westeros. I wonder if she used sex to 'persuade' him to do that? Telling Jamie that the baby was his to keep him bound to her, would be quite a 'Cersei' thing to do.

My only criticism of the season, is the pace and reduced number of subplots, that have brought us here. I suspect it's because of the contraints of money, filming, and because the books weren't written yet, but I miss the depth of the earlier seasons.

So chatting about GOT at work today there were two distinct camps.
Those that are up to date and wanted to discuss. And those that basically walked out of the room when it came up.

So when 2019 finally rolls around my theory is the undead will be victorious in the North.
The survivors will retreat South for a final stand. Otherwise Cersei's plan will succeed and that would be a terrible way to conclude the series.
She has to get her just deserves.
Hopefully at the sharp end of Arya's sword.

I am hoping for Arya or Jaime. Either one would work for me. I would love to see either one looking into her eyes as they deliver the death blow. The utter betrayal from Jaime, or the "you have got to be kidding me, a Stark took me down" look.
